Mom dad will be alright, please stay strong, I will be at the hospital after work, okay mom? I said over the phone, doing all I could do not to let my mom perceive the anxiety in me.

Yes my baby, her voice echoed over the phone.

How are you finding it at work? Your new job, Do you love it?

Yes mama, what can I do?

It's pretty better than working at fabs,it's better here.

Don't worry about me, I sighed and replied, alright mom, forcing enthusiasm into my voice, avoiding giving her the details of what was going on at work.

Please get back to work, she said and her voice softened,I love you.

I love you too mama, I replied and hung the call.

The meeting with the boss was taking longer than I thought.

I hoped it would end quickly so I could see Max for clarification about some tasks he assigned me.

A part of me wished I was also a part of the boss's meeting, important meetings like that could hasten my desire of settling in a better position at the company,but of course , I had to earn my place.

Oaks haven has strong principles and work ethics, my case shouldn't be different or partial.

Ben thank you so much, I really didn't believe you until my sister said she had gotten a letter from oaks fashion house.

Naomi , my intentions are genuine, yeah I know she doesn't love me anymore and that's not her fault, it's mine cos I never treated her well, but I really want to make things right this time if only she will let me.

I really want to be the man in her life.

I let her go before, but I won't let that happen again.

Naomi replied,

Ben, you know Charl, her focus is top-notch.

You need to give her some time.

Yea I will.

I will take her to the hospital after work today.

Okay, I'm sure she doesn't have a problem with that.

Thank you so much for all you do for Charlotte, especially for her new job, she really loves fashion, Naomi spoke gratefully.

Ben chuckled, Yea she really does.

Thank you Naomi, I will see you pretty soon, or maybe we can all hang out together, You,Charl and myself.

That would be awesome,I would love that Naomi chuckled.

Yea, Ben replied and sighed softly and hung up.

Some minutes later, Phoebe's message appeared on my phone.

Charl, you need to try out that dating I spoke to you about, then an excitement emoji followed the message.

I stared at my phone screen for a while.The classic me should have ignored her, but I sent her a smiling emoji afterwards hoping that would end the conversation.

I opened the dating app Phoebe suggested I use to see what it was all about. Adventurous, I guessed.

The app features looked beautiful and interesting, I saw smiling faces, and profiles.

Everything about it seemed adventurous and possibly romantic.

As I scrolled more, a question came to mind,

Do people really make great relationships out of such an app?

Just then,Phoebe's words rang in my mind like a mantra she had repeated often.

“You need a real man in your life”,try out something new, don't be too uptight Charl…embrace fun and adventure and you will see the right man come right away.
