C10 Sending a Nun Nunnery 2

The nanny had a tendency to panic and seek help at the slightest sign of trouble. "Miss, the Master isn't in the Great Western Country right now. By the time he returns from the Great Cold Nation, it'll be too late—the yellow cabbage will have gone cold! With the Master away, Aunt Wan rules the Mu Estate with an iron fist. She's intent on sending you to the Temple of Peace, and she'll surely find a way. We must flee! Yes, Miss, we must make haste and escape. We can no longer stay here!"

With a decisive smack of her fist into her palm, as if to signal the urgency of the situation, the nanny flung open the wardrobe and began packing in earnest.

Mu Yunhua was taken aback; she hadn't expected Mu Honghai to be absent from the estate. Was he aware of her being replaced in the marriage, or had Aunt Wan orchestrated everything behind his back from the very beginning?

Knowing whether Mu Honghai was aware or not made a world of difference!

"Bring this, and this too."

Mu Yunhua gave the nanny a quick look. The wardrobe was nearly empty, with only a couple of garments that had been worn and washed repeatedly. Packing for their escape was hardly a dilemma—they could simply grab everything and go.

"Miss, we're all set. We must leave at once!" The nanny tossed the bundle onto the bed and reached to pull back Mu Yunhua's quilt. Mu Yunhua caught her hand, "Nanny, there's no need to rush."

"How can I not rush?" the nanny exclaimed. "Aunt Wan will be here to take you away by tomorrow. We need to leave today—no, right now—or it'll be too late! Please, Miss, get up. Trust me, I would never put you in harm's way." As the nanny knelt to help Mu Yunhua into her shoes, she continued to mutter reassuringly, "I have the strength and means to support you, Miss. Don't be afraid, I'll take you away this very moment."

Throughout it all, the nanny's face was a portrait of resolve, her determination to take Mu Yunhua away unwavering, without a hint of abandoning her charge.

Mu Yunhua reached out to touch the nanny's hair, now streaked with gray, feeling a surge of emotion, "Nanny, have you forgotten? I promised you better days ahead."

"The nanny knows that once we're out of the mansion, better days await us," the nurse said, lifting her head with a smile that deepened the wrinkles on her face.

As the nurse led a neatly dressed Mu Yunhua out of the dilapidated courtyard, preparing to sneak out the back door, her hand was suddenly grasped by Mu Yunhua. "Nanny, come with me."

The nurse didn't know where Mu Yunhua intended to take her, but as they moved in this direction, the crowd grew thicker, inevitably leading to the main entrance of Mu's Mansion.

"Miss, we can't go this way; we won't make it through the main entrance! Quick, let's turn back," the nurse urged, tugging at Mu Yunhua's hand, trying to lead her back. Yet, despite her frail appearance, as if a gust of wind could carry her away, Mu Yunhua stood firm, immovable as if her feet were rooted to the ground.

"Nanny," Mu Yunhua said with a firm grip, "I am the sole legitimate daughter of Mu's Mansion. If I, Mu Yunhua, wish to leave, I will not sneak out through a side door!"

Her words were not grandiose or impassioned, but they struck the nurse with the force of a thunderclap.

Suddenly, the once delicate young lady seemed to transform before her eyes into a towering figure of radiant light, powerful and brilliant.

The once timid miss had emerged from her cocoon, transformed into a butterfly.

"Miss... you've grown up..." The nurse's eyes welled with tears, her pride and relief spilling over. "But two hands can't fight against many. The servants in the mansion won't allow us to leave."
