C11 Sending a Nun Nunnery 3

"Auntie, do you believe in your young mistress?" Mu Yunhua arched an eyebrow.

"I do." She had unwavering faith in the young mistress, no matter what she said or did.

"Since you trust her, then follow me and leave everything in my hands!" Mu Yunhua needed that kind of blind devotion from the wet nurse.

She took the wet nurse, who seemed resigned to her fate, and headed toward the grand entrance of Mu Manor.

As they walked, the servants they encountered gaped at them as if they'd seen a ghost. It was unthinkable to them that Mu Yunhua would dare to leave her own courtyard, let alone strut about the manor so brazenly.

How utterly shameless!

"If I were the Second Young Miss, I'd bash my head against a wall to spare myself the embarrassment of others pointing fingers at us."

"Exactly! I get laughed at in the streets when I go shopping, all thanks to her!"

"I wonder who her secret lover is."

"Who knows? She never leaves her courtyard; hiding someone there would be a piece of cake."

"That lover must be hideously ugly, or why else would she stoop so low?"

The servant girls clustered together, whispering behind Mu Yunhua's back. Their voices weren't too loud, but loud enough to be overheard, making it clear they didn't regard her at all.

The wet nurse was trembling with rage, yet she refrained from chastising the servants right away. Instead, she soothed Mu Yunhua, "Don't listen to their idle gossip; they're just wagging their tongues!"

Mu Yunhua turned, casting a dismissive glance at the servants who pointed and whispered with disdain and loathing. Her voice was icy as she spoke, "The dead descend below, and the sinful are sent to hell to atone. Those who stir up trouble, slander others, speak with forked tongues, and deceive with clever words—all will face the Tongue-Pulling Hell after death."

"There, demons will pry open your mouth, clamp onto your tongue with iron tongs, and slowly stretch it out... before sending you to the Scissor Hell, snip!"

With a scissor gesture and a final, chilling word, Mu Yunhua silenced the previously chatty maids and servants, their faces blanching as their bodies froze.

The words were meant for everyone in the room, yet it felt as though her icy, stern voice singled you out!

"Miss..." The wet nurse trembled slightly, "Miss, that tale is quite frightening."

"Tale?" Mu Yunhua shook her head, "This is no mere tale, Nanny. Who can say which of them might end up in the tongue-ripping hells after death..."

After all, her Celestial Order Society served as the emissaries of the Underworld in the realm of the living, and encounters with the likes of Ox-Head and Horse-Face were not uncommon for her. Mu Yunhua had some knowledge of the horrors that awaited in those infernal depths.

Yet, as Mu Yunhua's finger lightly grazed over someone, that person felt a bone-chilling breeze, as if a ghostly wind had swept through, despite the still air, sending shivers down their spine!

"Hmph." Mu Yunhua scoffed, unconcerned whether these people would get any rest tonight, and continued walking with her wet nurse in tow.

This time, not a soul dared to utter a sound behind them.

As Mu Yunhua and the wet nurse smoothly made their way to the gate, they were predictably halted by the estate guards.

"Where do you think you're going? The lady of the house has decreed that no one is to leave while the master is away," said Protector A, his tone brusque but somehow less grating than Protector B's. "Why waste words on her, as if she's a fool who could understand?"

"Hey, you, the fool he's talking about – get back to your quarters, and don't let me catch you here again, or I'll break your legs."
