C2 Dedication 2

Qin Qing had no idea how long she had been asleep. Was it now day or night outside?

Had she known that sleeping in a car would be this uncomfortable, she would have never allowed herself to nod off there. But how had she managed to fall into such a deep slumber? Since her master's death, a peaceful night's sleep had eluded her...

Something was off, terribly off.

Qin Qing felt a surge of restlessness within her. She struggled to pry her eyes open, but her inexplicably heavy eyelids barely parted...

—Beware of fire in this dry weather!

*Clang! Clang! Clang!*

Was that... the sound of a watchman's gong?

Her mind, already groggy, grew even less clear upon hearing the distant clanging. Could it be someone's cell phone ringtone? What an unusual choice...

But before she could ponder any further, through the sliver of her opened eyes, she glimpsed a shadowy figure moving!

She couldn't discern whether it was male or female, human or ghost. At this point, she wouldn't have been afraid of encountering a ghost; her pure yang energy should have kept any spirit at bay. But if it were a person, perhaps an enemy...

Before Qin Qing could complete her thought, the icy touch gripping her ankles made her instantly aware that it was not a person, but a ghost!

Hands colder than ice crept up from her ankles, over her thighs, across her lower abdomen, and finally lingered ambiguously at her chest.

A breath devoid of warmth brushed past her ear, caressed her slender neck, and left her skin tingling with a numbing chill...

She was a being of pure yang, with a fiery element. No ghost should have been able to come near her. How could this be happening?!

Qin Qing tried to recite a spell, to form a magical seal, to fight back, but she was incapable of doing any of it at the moment!

No matter how much Qin Qing resisted or wanted to rid herself of this strange sensation, her immobile body left her as vulnerable as meat on a butcher's block.

"Get away..."

Mu Yunhua couldn't recall how many times she had internally screamed for it to leave before she finally managed to force the word out of her numb lips, a whisper so faint it could have been carried off by the slightest breeze.

Yet, those words did nothing to halt the actions of the hands' owner; if anything, they seemed to quicken. The hands seized her bare ankles, bent her knees, and spread them apart...

Through the fog of her mind, a muted, deep voice devoid of any human warmth murmured in her ear, "Mu Yuxi, you have no idea how many people will thank you."

Who was Mu Yuxi?

She was Qin Qing, the 365th descendant of the Celestial Order Society! She was not Mu Yuxi; she was Qin Qing, Qin Qing!

The screams inside Qin Qing's heart nearly drove her to madness, yet they were inaudible to anyone but herself. The only response she received was a sudden, excruciating pain that tore through her!

Ah—

The pain was indescribable, the discomfort unbearable. An icy chill that seemed to freeze her bones inch by inch crept from her lower body to her vital organs, striking at her heart!

Beneath her, it felt as though a gash had been violently torn open. With each forceful entry and exit, a warm liquid was drawn out, as if all her blood were draining from that wound...

The scent of blood began to permeate the air...

Her already fragmented consciousness was shattered further by the impact. Her feeble hands could only claw at the coffin board below, leaving behind trails of blood, her nails scattering until she lost all sense of awareness and plummeted into the abyss of darkness...
