C3 MEETING THE SCUMBAG EX

Tyla was preparing to follow Kelvin to attend a conference meeting. She went into his mini-room to get him a change of suit.

The scheduled time for the business conference is 11am, and she needs to get everything ready. Tyla didn’t dilly-dally at all.

While fiddling with the double-breasted dark blue suit and running her fingers on its helm, she checked if it would suit Kelvin. After all, their boss can’t lose face in the presence of other CEOs.

The door opened and Tyla quickly snapped her gaze at the door. Kelvin emerged inside the room with a cold face.

Seeing his expression, Tyla didn’t waste time anymore and handed him the suit she picked quickly. “We have twenty-five minutes left to be on our way, Boss.”

“Umm.” His voice was cold all through, which didn’t surprise Tyla.

Tyla picked a water bottle, went to the hot water dispenser and quickly filled it. Cold water isn’t good for the boss’s stomach.

After wearing his suit, Kelvin struggled to wear his tie with a cold face.

He snorted after failing twice, which caught Tyla’s attention. She quickly threw the water flask inside the briefcase and zipped it.

“Let me help you with that sir.” Knowing that he would toss the tie on the bed with anger, she offered to help.

Tyla walked up to him, his gaze focused on helping him fix his tie. Kelvin's cold gaze focused deeply on the petite woman an inch away from him. Her body’s natural scent wafted into his nose and his cold expression changed to one of embarrassment. But Tyla didn’t seem to notice his plight.

No one would believe that their heartless, strict and freezing Ceo couldn’t knot a tie. Isn’t that embarrassing? In order to cover up his embarrassment, Kelvin’s gaze became more solemn.

Strangely, he looked at her bright pink lips. The strange thing was that she didn’t seem to be wearing lipstick, he could only detect light red eye shadows on her eyes and a little touch of mascara to stretch her thick long eyebrows.

One of the reasons he accepted her during her interview years ago, is that Tyla is a straightforward girl, very tenacious. Behind her calm exterior is a daring and strong woman.

Everyone in the company knows that Tyla Brooklyn is a very attractive woman. Her sparkling light green eyes can hook your soul away. Her figure alone is 8 out of 10.

If he were a scumbag, he would have taken advantage of her like that. The height difference was huge, and she had to stand on her top toe, causing her to lean slightly on him. As she breathed in air, breath poured on Adam's apple, and Kelvin tried hard to endure.

His attraction towards her started a year ago. But lately it seems to be getting out of hand. Her attentiveness towards him makes him like her more.

Since Kelvin keeps a cold face all year round, no one could detect his mild attraction towards his secretary. Probably, David might have seen hints, but they remain unconfirmed.

Tyla, on the other hand, felt her boss’s piercing gaze, and she felt a bit uncomfortable for a while. “Done, Sir.”

A knock came on the door.

“We have fifteen minutes left,” David informed him.

“Noted.” Tyla affirmed and grabbed the brief, heading out of the room with Kelvin a step behind her.

David’s expression stiffened when he saw Kelvin wearing a suit with a colour blemish. He knows that Kelvin prefers monotone clothes. But as long as Tyla was the one who selected it, no doubt he would wear it.

David controlled his expression and led the way. Kelvin leaves the company with an entourage, which comprises; Tyla, David, Sandra, Tyla’s assistant and four bodyguards. It was quite eye-catching as they all had a strict and cold expression on their faces.

The meeting ended around 6 in the evening.

Tyla, remembering that her car was still parked at the company, asked David to drop her off at the company instead. Without wasting another second, the car drove off.

Tyla walked into the company first, packed her stuff and headed towards the elevator leading to the parking lot.

She pressed the car beep and the car beeped. Tyla opened the car and sat on the shotgun seat. Just as she was about to insert the key into the key ring, her cell phone rang.

She grabbed the phone and glanced at the screen. The word ‘worlds bestie.’ was visible on the screen.

Tyla’s eyebrows suddenly jumped, and she snorted after swiping the call.

“Babe, come to Clinton bar. I have a scumbag on my trial.”

“Say, are you in trouble? You know, you and trouble are inseparables.” Tyla commented dryly, rolling her eyes.

“Well then. I guess you are well-informed.” Ava laughed. “Come quickly. Let’s show them the power of the duo.”

“Hmm.” Tyla agreed without much thought. God knows her career has made it less possible for her to hang out with her bestie. So she never misses any opportunity. “Thank goodness, today is Saturday.” She sighed and drove out of the company.

Ava sat in a dignified manner, silently tapping her phone, waiting for Tyla.

Sensing someone walking in her direction, she tilted her head. At once, an exasperated sigh escaped her lips. "Of all the days, why should this scum appear here today?"

Ava snorted and went back to her drink, sipping in little mouthfuls.

Mark stood a few steps away from her. He watched her silently, as if waiting for her to take the initiative to greet him. When she didn't, in a tone that conveyed his displeasure, he demanded. "What are you here?" That was how he used to talk to her.

Ava wouldn’t lie, she once liked this man... After all, he once told her he liked a submissive, no-questions type of woman. And she would do anything for the one she thought she loved.

But times change, people change, things also change, and so do situations. And people’s respective behaviors change.

Ava sneered and let her lips tilt into a light smile. She paid him no heed and continued sipping her drink.

Being snubbed like this, rubbed Mark off in the wrong way. Especially coming from a woman he used to walk all over on, with his friends.

His tone rose sharply. "Did you not hear me?" No response. Just another silent sip. Elegant and unrushed. As if there wasn't a man standing by her side, turning red with anger and ready to lash at her any moment. Mark didn’t believe this bitch dared snub him.

Blood rushed to his face. He never expected such a response from Ava. It had only been two months since they broke up.

How could a person change so much? However, now with his friends watching, he could not just turn around and leave.

That would be embarrassing. Especially when his friends were drooling all over Ava, he wanted to show them that this was the woman he had rejected.

It would be even better if she apologized like before in front of them. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself and said, "Alright, you must be angry because of what happened between us. I understand this." His tone, though quieter now, still came out offensive and accusative as he lectured. "But you have to accept what happened and move on."

"Your point?" Ava cut him short, her eyebrows furrowed. Mark was, once again, left speechless.

Mark’s anger burst forth, this time stronger than before. This whore doesn’t deserve his gentleness at all.

Ava knew how bad-tempered Mark was. Her heart trembled, but she tried to maintain a calm expression.

Indignant, Mark grabbed Ava’s elbow and jerked her in his direction, making her brush all the glass unintentionally as they fell on the floor, shattering them. Their commotion drew people’s attention.

Ava’s anger suddenly surged, she had been trying hard to act calm and collected. But Mark’s been forcing it.

She tried to free her arm, yet his grip was hard and very painful. He embedded his fingers in her skin with brutal force. "What do you want?!" Ava snapped, angry. A rush of fear enveloped her heart. Events of the past replayed in her head as her heart thumped against her chest.

This ex-boyfriend of hers is a monster!
