C3 chapter 3

David, Adam’s friend, said: "Oh, I think our elder is right. Adam is already not a flirtatious man and barely sees any women. Also, he is cold and arrogant with females, so I did not understand how a woman would like and propose for him, especially with such a great history. She should be crazy."

The boss smiled and said: "The old man is a sensible person. If he didn't force Master Adam to make the family, he would surely end up alone in the future. And I heard that the wife is from a well-known family and has special traits. This is your golden chance, Master Adam."

Then Adam said leisurely: "When my child calls you ‘uncle’, we will see who will end up alone, you single old man."

“Child? Master Adam, are you serious? Isn't this marriage a casual marriage? To put it bluntly, when the old man leaves, you can leave this marriage if you want to. There is no need for children, right?"

Adam raised his eyebrows and mocked: "Why can't it be serious?"

"No, Lord Adam...” joined another guy “It's a pity that you got married so casually with your conditions! I mean, do you even love her?!"

Then, the boss added with a smile: "It must be that little girl fell in Adam's eyes, and made you fall in love at first sight. I have already said that she is a golden chance!"

"Really, Master Adam?” wondered the guy “How beautiful is she to catch your eyes? Bring her sometime and let's have a look!"

Adam gently shook the coffee cup in his hand, frowned slightly as if he was tasting the brewed coffee carefully and thinking seriously, and said lightly: "She is not so beautiful, just a bit..."

Everyone looked at him curiously. Seeing him deliberating for another two seconds, two words came out of his mouth: "Cute." He said.

In the early morning of the next day, Rena woke up unexpectedly early, or she didn't even sleep much at all that night.

Thinking that Adam was coming to propose marriage today, she was excited and nervous, but also worried. She was worried that Adam would not come, since he did not really love her.

In yesterday's ceremony, apart from achieving a publicity effect, there was no reliable procedure at all. She felt that it was only reliable if she got the marriage certificate.

"It's so early today." Called a voice…

Rena looked at Joseph Hamilton who was standing in a suit and leather shoes at the entrance, and greeted: "Second brother, where are you going so early?"

Joseph's voice was low and gentle, as he said: "To the hospital… I am in a hurry. See you when I return back…"

"Oh, then you should drive carefully."

Joseph smiled gently, took two steps outside the door and stopped, looked back at Rena and said, "You should think clearly about the important things in your life, please don’t act reckless."

Rena nodded obediently: "Understood." Then, smiled and waved goodbye to her second brother.

Among the older brothers, she had the best relationship with the second brother, because he was always so kind and considerate with her. He usually didn't talk much, but he was really responsive to Rena, especially when it included pocket money.

Then, the whole family woke up one after another, and Rena found that everyone didn't seem to sleep well because of her.

After breakfast, the brothers were not in a hurry to go to work, they were all sitting around the sofa, waiting for Adam's arrival.

All of sudden, at ten o'clock, a black Rolls Royce parked outside the house.

Rena stared eagerly at the opening of the driver's car door, and saw a pair of shiny black leather shoes stepped out of the car door.

He was still in a suit and leather shoes, imposing his radiating power, with an innate aura of a king. Whenever he appeared, people couldn't take their eyes off him. He surely was her utter love…

Rena stared shyly at him as her heart bet like a wild tornado and her face tainted crimson red.

"Hello, auntie." After he came over and greeted Mrs. Hamilton with a slight smile, he turned his attention to Rena Hamilton.

The moment their eyes met, Rena felt like getting an electric shock, and hurriedly blushed and lowered her head. She felt she was so coward and weak that she could not greet him.

"Get in, please.” Stated Mrs. Hamilton “Have you had breakfast? We have prepared a lot here, so eat some if you haven't eaten."

Then, three elders walked in front of him, and Rena and Adam followed. He didn't show the slightest bit of nervousness or awkwardness. In contrast, Rena seemed more restrained, as her heart never seized to drum her chest.

Mr. Hamilton had muttered and mocked Adam before, especially that he had married his daughter suddenly, however after he came, Mr. Hamilton smiled like an elder and asked him to sit casually.

On the other side, the older brother sat fiercely, arms crossed, looking at Ada, expressionlessly, just like a policeman interrogating a prisoner. Although they had all heard of Adam Stevens, and even had contact with him in business, it was unacceptable to abduct their precious sister.

"What kind of work does Adam mainly do now?" asked Noah Hamilton, the first brother.

"Our Adam..." started Mrs. Stevens.

"Adam are such grown-ups that you can't speak for yourself?" Before Mrs. Stevens finished speaking, she was interrupted by Noah.

It felt disastrous as her family were treating him rudely, and Rena felt very embarrassed. Then, Adam said with a slight smile: "Now, I mainly run a jewelry company, and I am preparing to go public."

"Are you starting your own business? It's good, then who will take care of the Stevens family's business?" mocked Noah.

"I’m not too involved at the moment.”

Than, Mr. Hamilton responded: "We don't care about the Stevens family, we just hope that Rena can live a good life when she gets married."

So, Mr. Stevens said with a smile: "Don't worry about this, our Adam is very good at taking care of others, and I promise to be good to Rena. I will also treat her as my own daughter."

Rena glanced at Adam who was sitting beside her, his expression was too decent and official, and she couldn't see much emotions or affections at all… She had only loved him…

The more disguised it was, the more mysterious it became, and the more she wanted to explore him.
