C4 chapter 4

"In fact, our family is against Rena's marriage so early, but we also support Rena's decision.” As a policeman the third brother, Noah Hamilton, was not so afraid when he spoke: "We don't have any demands, just treat her well. But if you dare to make Rena shed a tear, I will count it as domestic violence, and I will let you taste the food in the detention center."

The third brother, Heram Hamilton, said foolishly: "When you get married, don't call me brother. You married on your own, without telling us, so do you think I will consider you and your husband as a family??"

Rena immediately snapped back: "Heram, if you can't speak kindly, then shut up!"

No matter how rude the words were, Adam was very personable, and smiled lightly. He was the man she liked, with grace and charm.

Afterwards, Mrs. Stevens gave Mrs. Hamilton a bank card, saying that it was regarded as a gift money.

Then, Mr. Hamilton asked the housekeeper to get the household registration book and agreed to the marriage certificate.

Seeing her father handing the household registration book to her with tears in his eyes, Rena almost broke down and cried: "Father... what are you doing? It's not like I won't come back "

Mr. Hamilton waved his hand and ordered: "Go and hurry up!! Come back for lunch after finishing the formalities."

"Thank you dad! Thank you mom!"

The family stood at the door, watching Rena get into Adam's car. Watching the car drive away, Mr. Hamilton looked at the receding rear of the car, sighed and murmured: "I still think he is too old, almost eight years older than our Rena."

Mrs. Hamilton poured a basin of cold water and replies: "I think the young man is pretty good. I saw that he was polite and gentle when he talked and chatted today. When he got into the car just now, I saw that he was protecting Rena's head with his hands. He is very careful. Rena has a bad temper, so find someone who is more mature to take care of her and accommodate her."

"Its little sister's own choice,” joined Noah “let's respect her and hope she can be happy."

Adam sent his parents back home before going to the Civil Affairs Bureau, and there were only the two of them in the car; she was even more uncomfortable.

Feeling so bored, she stretched out her hand and rolled down the window of the co-pilot. When the wind came in, she heard his voice accompanied by the whistling wind: "So, you lied to me yesterday?"

"Huh?" Rena turned her head and looked at him puzzled.

He turned his head and glanced at her lightly, with a gentle and low voice: "You said your family forced you to get married."

Rena immediately realized what he was talking about, and before she could think of words, she heard Adam ask: "Why did you lie?"

"Because...because..." She hesitated and couldn't tell the reason.

He replied for her, "Because you like me?"

Rena's eyes widened immediately, and the words slipped out of her mouth without passing through her brain: "The devil likes you!"

Adam looked at her again with a smile, and said while turning the steering wheel: "Then, why did you marry me? "

“Because it's fun! I just think it's fun!" she insisted.

"Fun?" He murmured in a low voice, "Is it a child’s game??"

Looking at the marriage certificate in her hand, Rena was even more excited than having received an admission letter from a prestigious university, but she didn't dare to show it for him.

"What are you smirking at? Let's go." Asked Adam.

Rena hurriedly trotted and followed him into the car: "Where are we going?"

Adam started the car and said, "Didn't you promised your family for lunch?"

For a moment, Rena was stunned. She thought that Adam had just agreed verbally, after all, a busy person like him probably didn't have the time or thought.

"... If your company is busy, you don't have to go, I will just tell my dad." She replied.

"No matter how busy you are, you have to eat, right?" he responded gently.

Only then did she realize that she couldn't see what was going on in his heart at all. Although she had been secretly in love with him for many years, her understanding was still very one-sided.

She only read reports about him from the online media and some gossip. She still had no idea what kind of person he was in private.

Although no single woman could marry him, yet she was deeply in love with him. In her deep dreams, she could remember such an amazing man like him… He was her one and only…

He drove quietly, while Rena lowered her head to her mobile phone. Adam squinted at her, looked ahead and continued driving.

Their wedding photos appeared in his mind, although he didn't look at them, but her smile was engraved in his memory.

When taking pictures, she smiled sweetly. Her smile seemed to have a magical appeal, which made people feel very comfortable after seeing it.

And she loves to laugh.

He believed that her smile was not fake or ‘for fun’, he believed that it was genuine and full of cheerfulness. He also wanted to discover her.

Than, Rena put away her phone and sneaked a peek at him, he was very beautiful and calm, but unexpectedly her eyes met his.

A long moment of silence occurred, and her heart bombed crazily as if it wanted to escape her breast.

Rena pursed her lips, opened her mouth and asked him: "Well... are we really married now or a fake marriage?"

Adam raised his eyebrows, and the car stopped at the intersection waiting for the green light. “The certificate is recognized by the law, how can it be fake?" he said.

"No, that's not what I mean, I mean... do we just ignore each other, or... we have to live like a couple?"

Adam asked her back with a smile of ambiguity: "Do you really want us to live like a couple?"
