C25 Overbearing CEO.

When David got off the car, he saw his friend get off of his own car as well. Matt looked at the woman who seemed to be unconscious but was still clinging on to David. Matt looked at David who looked like a colossal mess and for the first time, he felt speechless.

His shirt was gaping open, it was even more obvious because he had used his jacket to cover Iris. With the lipstick marks on his face and hickeys on his neck, how else could this situation be explained?

“You did her till she lost consciousness? Is this why you called me? Has it really been that long for you? But even so, isn’t this too much?” Matt asked as he followed behind his friend.

“Shut up,” David said as he opened the door to his house. Would Matt listen? Of course not.

“I know you haven’t done it in years, but you shouldn’t overdo it,” Matt continued to tease. Such opportunities were so rare to come by that he just had to take full advantage of him.

“Shut up, Matt,” David said again. He wouldn’t be annoyed if he had actually done it with her. But he was still painfully hard and had gotten into a rotten mood. Thinking of the person that drugged Iris, he felt like he could just set them on fire with his anger.

“Okay, fine,” Matt said as he followed David into the guest room. David put her on the bed and covered her before moving to the side so that Matt could examine her.

Matt checked her temperature, which was not as high as it was before. He took a blood sample and gave her an IV.

“We’ll still need to have her tested to know what kind of drug she was given,” Matt said seriously as he stood up.

“Mmmh,” David said absentmindedly as he looked at Iris, whose cheeks were still flushed from the drugs.

“I’ll be back, I’m just going to give my assistant the sample and they’ll come back with the result. I need to monitor her condition until I know,” Matt said and David nodded.

David watched Iris with his arms folded in front of him, his grey eyes looking at her intensely. This woman has repeatedly tested his self-control from the start. He could not deny that today was one of the most difficult trials he has had to endure in his life.

Matt really came back after five minutes. David watched as his friends checked the IV once more before looking at him.

“I’m going to sit in the living room. I’ll just check on her every fifteen minutes,” Matt said as he felt that it was inappropriate to be left alone with her in a bedroom before leaving. David looked at Iris for a few more minutes before he too went to his room.

He walked out of his room in a bathrobe while wiping his hair dry. He saw his friend read a medical report with a small frown on his face and came up next to him to check on what it said.

“Is it serious?” he asked when he saw all the medical jargon that was in the report.

“It’s not, thankfully. The IV will help with the detoxification. Otherwise, she will be fine once she wakes up,” Matt said with a comforting smile.

“That’s a relief,” David said, his expression finally relaxing for the first time.

“Is she your girlfriend?” Matt asked him and David shook his head.

“Then are you keeping her?” Matt asked bluntly and received a glare from David before the man denied it.

“You are probably unaware of this, seeing how relaxed you are,” Matt said and pulled out his phone and got on his social media. The top trending topic was of him carrying iris out of the restaurant.

David snatched the phone from Matt’s hand and looked at the photos that people had taken. There was even a video posted of how furious he was at the people who were at the dinner with Iris. His image was always of someone detached who could not bother himself with these worldly things. Now the comments on those posts were marvelling on how he was actually an overbearing CEO. What is that even supposed to mean?

“Are you sure she isn’t your girlfriend?” Matt asked again. He kept asking because David was a man who did not show this much emotion when he discovered his late wife was cheating on him.

“She isn’t… ah fuck!” he cursed. Not because of the whole situation, but because he felt like his mother had probably seen this.

He went to get his phone and as he had predicted. There were already ten missed calls from his mother. What a headache-inducing situation!

He didn’t call her back and instead called the PR department in his company. They had also left him a lot of missed calls on how he wanted the situation to be dealt with.

“Hello sir?” a woman’s voice came from the other side.

“Yes, what is it?” David asked straightforwardly.

“Have you seen the situation online?” she asked him.

“Mmmh,” he answered after a brief pause.

“How do you want to resolve it?” she asked him. They could not blindly jump in to deny anything before they knew where the person involved actually stood.

“If I deny a relationship, won’t she be attacked?” David asked as he thought about it.

“Most definitely,” the woman responded. Iris was also just debuting as an actress. If he denied it, they will slander her as being a mistress or taking advantage of his popularity for her own gain. They both knew it was not true, but the world didn’t. He did not want to ruin her career before it even started.

“Don’t do anything, stay silent and let me know if there is any change in the way the topic is developing,” David said and cut the call. His friend looked at him with amused eyes, and David glowered at him in return.

“Hurry up and leave,” David said in annoyance.

“Fine, I won’t intrude on you and your lady any longer,” Matt said as he went to take out the empty IV and packed his things before leaving. David combed his fingers through his hair in frustration as he sat on the sofa. He really wants to beat someone up.
