C1 A Harmonious Family

In a shabby little district in the North Han District of Huabao City, Huaxia Province, a boy dressed in white carried a handful of vegetables and excitedly walked towards the small district.

The boy was very thin, the kind of skinny man with a sharp face. He had just come back from shopping at the market, and his parents had worked overtime today, so he was in a hurry to go home and make food for himself and his sister.

The boy's name was Wu Tian and he had a happy family. His father, Wu Fei, worked at the construction site, and his mother, Xue Ji, was a nurse. He had a younger sister, Wu Linlin, who was three years younger than him.

Wu Tian returned home. Just as he opened the door, his sister, Wu Linlin, heard the sound and hurriedly came out of her room. When she saw Wu Tian excitedly grabbing onto Wu Tian's arm, she said like a spoiled child, "Brother, what are you making for me today?"

Wu Tian lovingly scratched the tip of Wu Linlin's nose and smiled lovingly, "Greedy cat, tell me, what do you want to eat? "Although your brother isn't any kind of chef, some household dishes won't be too hard on your brother."

"I want some, tomato and egg soup and rice!" Wu Linlin shook her older brother Wu Tian's arm happily and laughed.

"Alright, I'll make it for you now, Greedy Cat." Wu Tian laughed as he scratched his sister's nose before heading to the kitchen.

Wu Linlin happily went back to her room to do her homework. In fact, she was not a picky person, as her family had always been poor, she was also a girl that could lead a life of hardship. She had always been on good terms with her older brother Wu Tian, which was why she acted so coquettishly in front of her older brother.

Half an hour later, a fragrant smell drifted over from the kitchen. Wu Tian called out softly, "Linlin, it's time to eat."

"Alright." Wu Linlin happily agreed and ran out of the room.

After washing up, Wu Linlin sat on the dining table and looked at the dishes on the table. Wu Linlin mischievously looked at Wu Tian and said, "Brother, I want you to feed me."

Wu Tian couldn't help but laugh as he said, "You little mischievous brat, I really can't do anything to you." As he spoke, Wu Tian raised the bowl and scooped up a spoon, placing it next to Wu Linlin's mouth.

Seeing his little sister eat so happily, Wu Tian also felt gratified in his heart. His little sister had always been very close to him, so when he faced his sister's playful behavior, he knew it was because his little sister relied on him.

After dinner, the phone rang. Wu Tian picked up the phone to call Wu Tian's mother, Baiji, and said, "Little Tian, your dad and I have some work to do tomorrow. Remember to pick your sister up after school tomorrow, got it?"

Wu Tian nodded and said, "I know Mom, don't worry."

"Mm, okay. Snowy nodded and hung up after a few more words of advice.

Wu Tian placed the microphone on the worn-out phone, then cleaned up the dishes. He looked at the smiling Wu Linlin and said, "What are you doing? Go and do your homework. After you finish your homework, quickly go to sleep."

Wu Linlin grinned and said, "Brother, I have something to give you." As she spoke, Wu Linlin jogged towards her room. After a while, Wu Linlin handed a pair of gloves woven from black wool to Wu Tian. "Try it."

Wu Tian was stunned for a moment, then a warm feeling surged through his heart. He took the glove over and glanced at Wu Linlin's red finger, feeling a pang in his heart.

Wu Tian said with a slightly pained and reproachful tone, "In the future, don't mess around with this. You have to study hard. Do you understand?"

Wu Linlin looked into Wu Tian's eyes. She was a smart girl, so she was able to see her brother's concern and smile. "Alright, brother. I understand. Why don't you try?"

Only then did Wu Tian nod his head and put on a pair of black gloves. The gloves were neither big nor small in Wu Tian's hands. He frowned slightly and said, "It's very suitable. However, this color doesn't seem to be too good." In his heart, Wu Tian was actually quite averse to black, because he always felt that black gave off a sinister feeling.

However, Wu Tian didn't expect that the black color would become his symbol in the future. It was also the color that he was most used to. Of course, this was in the future.

It was only eight o'clock. Wu Tian picked up the Count of Monte Cristo from the bookshelf and started reading with relish. Although Wu Tian was only twelve years old, he was different from those mischievous kids. Wu Tian never played online games or smoked or drank alcohol; on the contrary, his grades had always been outstanding.

Since his family was poor and he couldn't buy more books to read, Wu Tian borrowed all kinds of books from the school library. To Wu Tian, harvesting things from the books would allow him to possess intellect and wisdom that far surpassed his peers.

Without realizing it, dawn had arrived. Wu Tian was lying on the table, drowsily waking up. He had watched over half of the Count of Monte Cristo. Last night, he had been engrossed in reading before falling asleep.

He rubbed his sleepless eyes and looked at the time. Wu Tian then went downstairs to wash up before going to the entrance of the neighborhood to buy two cups of soy milk and two plates of Soup Dumplings. Wu Tian ran upstairs with breakfast in his hand and knocked on the door of his sister's room.

Wu Linlin said sleepily, "Alright, I'll get up now."

About ten minutes later, after Wu Linlin had washed her face and rinsed her mouth, she sat down at the table. The two siblings had finished their breakfast happily.

Wu Tian looked at the time and said, "Let's go, I'll send you to school."

Wu Linlin smiled and said, "Sure."

The two siblings went out together. Wu Tian went downstairs to push out a shabby bike path. "Let's go."

Wu Linlin sat on the back seat of the bicycle, her arms around her older brother's waist.

Wu Tian worked hard on his bicycle along the way and his back was soon drenched in sweat. However, he didn't feel tired at all. He was very happy to be able to send his sister to school.

Half an hour later, Wu Tian and Wu Linlin arrived at the school gates. Wu Tian parked his car and got out. When he saw his brother sweating profusely, Wu Linlin took out a handkerchief from her pocket to wipe Wu Tian's sweat.

Wu Tian said with a pleased smile, "Quickly go to the class and study hard." As he spoke, he stroked Wu Linlin's head.

Wu Linlin stuck out her tongue and carried her backpack as she headed towards the campus. Wu Tian watched his sister's figure enter the school building before riding her bicycle back to his own school.

When Wu Linlin arrived at the class, there were not many students in the class yet. She sat down and began to read English seriously. Wu Linlin had always liked English very much, and her English grade was also the most outstanding.
