C111 Failing at a Critical Moment

Seeing Qin Shu's evasive eyes, Yee Fann found it hard to connect him to the person who had been sitting on his lap and talking about pestering him.

Did he really decide to give up?

Yee Fann seemed to be relieved.

"Stop looking around. The assessment has begun," Liang Xiao, who was beside him, suddenly reminded Yee Fann.

Only then did Yee Fann realize that something was wrong with him. He clearly hated this person, but from the moment he entered the rehearsal room and caught sight of the figure, his gaze had never left Qin Shu.

He didn't know if it was because their own teacher wanted to help them, but the two newcomers were the first to enter the assessment.

After seeing the calm self-introduction and performance of the two of them, Qin Shu had to say that the company was still very interested in this combination. It was not that they were just going to find some people to make up the numbers and sell their looks. These two people's singing and dancing skills were not any worse than those of them who had been trained in the company for a while, especially their stage performance. Compared to those professional singers who had been in the industry for a long time, there was nothing wrong with them.

"Qin Shu, it's your turn." The teacher suddenly called Qin Shu's name.

He had been training every morning and night during this period of time. He often received comments from the teacher and this was not the first time he was taking the test. He did not have stage fright and walked straight to the judges' table.

"Hello, judges. My name is Qin Shu. I'm twenty years old this year. Today's performance is a song..." Qin Shu introduced himself in a well-behaved manner. There was nothing special about him.

Then the familiar melody began to play in the rehearsal room. It was the same song that Qin Shu had sung in the previous examination. He had sung it many times and was familiar with the lyrics and songs. It was not difficult for him, so there was nothing to be nervous about.

However, as soon as he opened his mouth, the accompaniment suddenly stopped.

"Sorry, there's a problem with the sound equipment. Let's do it again," the sound technician who was adjusting the equipment suddenly said.

Qin Shu had no choice but to do it again.

However, the situation was still the same. Qin Shu had just sung two lines when the accompaniment stopped again.

Everyone present broke out in a cold sweat for Qin Shu.

"I'm really sorry. The equipment seems to be broken. We'll fix it immediately, but it might take a while." The sound engineer was nervous. If he messed up at such a crucial moment, not only would it affect the exam, but he was also afraid that his salary would be deducted.

"You guys fix it, but I won't wait. I'll sing." The equipment had broken during his performance, so Qin Shu could only admit that he was unlucky. It was as if he had suddenly given up and didn't want to waste any more time.

After he finished speaking, Qin Shu started to sing without any accompaniment.

Qin Shu's singing skills were indeed bad in the past, and it was not his brother's fault for always ridiculing him. However, just because his voice was not complete did not mean that his voice was useless. In the past, he did not have any singing skills, but his own voice was still pretty good and very clean. After more than half a year of learning, his singing was no longer out of tune.

Still, it was a little awkward for him to sing alone in front of so many people.

While everyone was quietly listening to Qin Shu sing, a guitar suddenly sounded in the rehearsal room. The sound came from behind Qin Shu, but he did not know who was playing. He was stunned for two seconds before he could keep up with the rhythm.

Qin Shu had been singing a love song to begin with, and when paired with the calm guitar sound, they complemented each other perfectly.

After the song was finished, Qin Shu bowed to the judges present and turned around to retreat to the side. Only then did he see the man who was putting away the guitar.

The man was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans. His hair was tied up and one could tell at a glance that he was an artistic young man.

This person was the first newcomer to participate in the examination today. Since Qin Shu's attention was on Yee Fann at the time, he didn't notice when Yee Fann introduced himself, so he didn't know his name.

Since the next trainee was already on stage and the scene had to be quiet, Qin Shu could only walk over and say in a low voice, "Thank you."

The man nodded and smiled at him before continuing to pack his guitar.

Qin Shu turned around and saw Yee Fann scribbling on the assessment table again. He suddenly felt reluctant. He was afraid that his performance today would be eliminated. If he wanted to see this person again in the future, perhaps he could only do so through television and the Internet. Perhaps, he could really let go.

"Teacher Feng, I'm not feeling well and I want to take a walk." Qin Shu suddenly felt suffocated and wanted to leave for the time being. Before he left, he whispered a greeting to his mentor.

The teacher nodded, "Go. Remember to come back before the exam ends."

"Okay." Qin Shu walked out of the rehearsal room with his back against the wall. He did not intend to go far. He could take a breather in the corridor.

He went to the bathroom at the end of the hall, turned on the tap at the washbasin, and splashed a handful of water on his face, hoping to calm himself.

All the decisions seemed to be unable to stop him from looking at her again. It was even more difficult to forget the person that she wanted to forget.

The sound of approaching footsteps brought Qin Shu back to his senses. He stood up straight and looked at himself in the mirror. His face was still dripping with water. He raised his hand and casually touched his face.

Soon, another figure appeared in the mirror. When he heard the footsteps, he was even waiting to see if it would be Yee Fann. When there was no one else around, he scolded Yee Fann again, saying that he didn't keep his promise and that he wouldn't bother him anymore. But then, he appeared in his line of sight again.

But it wasn't Yee Fann. It was the man who had accompanied him on the guitar while he was singing.

The person handed him a clean tissue.

"Thank you." Qin Shu thanked him again and took a tissue to wipe the water off his face. "And thank you for playing the piano just now. You helped me a lot. I'm sorry, but I don't know your name yet."

"My name is Faang Su."

"My name is..." Qin Shu wanted to introduce himself, but he was interrupted by Faang Su.

"Your name is Qin Shu. I heard you when you were introducing yourself just now. You don't have to thank me. In fact, you did very well and you were very brave. Now, even many professional singers don't dare to sing. You can't blame me for meddling." Faang Su had a faint smile on his face and looked very easy-going.

Qin Shu also laughed, "Thanks to your accompaniment, I won't feel awkward about my performance."

However, compared to the performance of the first two, Qin Shu felt that he was still far inferior and did not have much hope.

The two of them chatted in the bathroom for a few minutes before returning to the rehearsal room. The exam was coming to an end, and when everyone's performance was over, Qin Shu thought he would announce the results on the spot.

The results of the assessment were only a partial reference. The training continued as usual, and the two newcomers would join in today. Their performance in the training would become a part of the final result.
