C16 The Object Was Returned to Its Original Owner

Qiao Lin entered the room angrily and took out his key to open the room he had booked earlier.

There was a single bed against the wall, and the sheets looked clean and white under the covers. There was a wooden chest of drawers next to the bed, and a small coffee table and a single sofa by the window. There was nothing else in the small room.

When the two men and Yu, who was in Qin Lang's arms, appeared in the room, it became even narrower.

"Carry Yu and sit on the sofa. Don't get in my way." Qin Lang's tall figure swayed in front of Qiao Lin's eyes a few times, causing him to feel restless.

Qin Lang carried Yu to the sofa and sat down. He did not dislike this place as much as when he was outside the door. After all, he and Qiao Lin had once lived in a place that was even worse than this.

It was a ten-square-metre apartment, with a bed big enough to fit both of them, things big enough for both of them, and a table for both of them to eat at.

There was almost no place for them to stand.

As soon as Qin Lang sat down, Qiao Lin opened the double doors of the wardrobe and took out two suitcases, one big and one small.

Since the commotion was quite loud, Yu, who was not sleeping very well, woke up with a start.

Fortunately, the child did not cry because of it and stared at Qiao Lin's every move with Qin Lang.

After taking out the boxes, Qiao Lin unlocked them one by one and checked the contents inside.

After roughly checking and finding that there was nothing missing, Qiao Lin tidied up the things and zipped up the box.

At that moment, Yu jumped down from Qin Lang's lap and walked over to the box that had yet to be zipped up. He reached out his small hand and took out a small cardboard box from the mezzanine.

"Dad, you haven't seen this yet." Yu handed the box to Qiao Lin, who still remembered that Qiao Lin had gone to the dark room tonight to get this.

Qiao Lin tightened his grip on the zipper, but when he saw Yu pass the box to him, he could only reach out to take it.

Seeing Qin Lang take off his sunglasses, he said with a complicated expression, "Isn't this..."

Embarrassment flashed across Qiao Lin's face. Then, he threw the box to Qin Lang with a relaxed expression, "It's good that you're here. What you left behind in my place all those years ago has now returned to its original owner."

After that, he threw the box to Qin Lang.

Qin Lang caught the box firmly and opened it.

In the blue velvet box lay a black, hollowedout watch whose gears had not struck in five years and whose hands were still moving, though inaccurately, a few minutes late.

"You still have it?" Qin Lang revealed a surprised expression.

"Heh, I checked the tablet online. This watch is worth more than a hundred thousand yuan. If I don't keep it, why would I throw it away? If you ask me for it one day, how can I afford it? " Qiao Lin zipped up the two suitcases and stood them up. Then, he pulled Yu's hand and walked out, deliberately not mentioning the watch anymore.

"Yu, I'll take care of it. You take the box." There was no elevator in this building, so he would definitely not be able to carry Qiao Lin, who was covered in injuries, down. Who caused all this? It would be a waste not to use the free labor.

Qin Lang looked at the big and small figures leaving, then at the watch that was still lying in the box. He quickly stuffed the things into his pants pocket, put on his sunglasses, and followed them with his suitcase.

Five years ago, before he came to the cinema city to be an extras, he had been wearing it until about half a month after Qiao Lin took him in.

At that time, he had joined an ancient drama crew. Afraid that he would be exposed, the crew asked him to take off the watch and put it in a storage box for safekeeping.

But when he went to ask for his watch at the end of the show, the man refused to acknowledge it, and joined the others in humiliating him, saying he was a poor extramaritalist who couldn't have a decent watch.

In the end, there was an argument and he was chased out by the crew.

That night, Qiao Lin, who had been busy all day, came back with injuries and his watch.

Later on, he found out that the group leader who took on Qin Lang's role at that time had a good relationship with Qiao Lin. When they bumped into each other at night after work, he told Qiao Lin about what happened to Qin Lang during the day.

As a result, Qiao Lin blocked the staff on his way back to the hotel at night and got into a fight with someone to snatch the watch back for him.
