C262 Face the Wall and Reflect
It was already past five in the afternoon when Qin Shu came out of Yee Fann's house. By the time Yee Fann drove him downstairs, it was already dark.
The two of them reluctantly said goodbye in the car.
"We're already downstairs. Do you want to come to my house and have dinner before leaving?" Qin Shu looked out of the car window at the neighborhood he was in.
Yee Fann pinched his face. "Are you kidding me? I want to go. Aren't you afraid that your mother won't be able to bear it?"
Yee Fann knew that Qin Shu was joking with him, so he didn't force him. He looked around at the familiar surroundings and sighed. "I didn't expect your family to be here all these years and not move away. If I had come here a few more times to look for you, would we have met? We wouldn't have been separated for so many years."
"But suppose it's only hypothetical. There's only one or two months of summer vacation, and then you have to go to college. You can't really wait here every day for your little brother, can you? If we hadn't been separated, maybe we wouldn't be here today. I'm afraid I'll be scared off and won't even be able to see me again, and then we won't be where we are today, so sometimes waiting isn't a bad thing." Qin Shu had also been negative when he was rejected by Yee Fann, but that was because he couldn't see any hope. However, he was still optimistic and cheerful. Now that he was with Yee Fann again, there was no need to care about the past.
One should still look forward.
"Fine, fine, fine. You're right." Yee Fann held his face and kissed his forehead. In fact, he had already noticed that ever since he got together with Qin Shu, he had been affected by Qin Shu's cheerful personality. During this period of time, even if he encountered trouble at work, he would be active in dealing with it. He was not as passive as before.
"Hurry up and go upstairs. It's time for dinner at your house." Yee Fann urged Qin Shu to go upstairs. If he didn't go back soon, his family would be anxious.
"Alright, be careful on the way back." Qin Shu kissed him on the cheek and got out of the car.
Yee Fann watched Qin Shu enter the neighborhood before driving home.
Every time Qin Shu stayed with Yee Fann, his face would turn red and his heart would race. He deliberately walked around the community garden to calm himself down before going upstairs.
When he opened the door, he found the house very quiet. When he changed his shoes in the hall and walked into the living room, he found that his family was all there, including Qiao Lin and Zhou Yao, who was sitting beside his sister. Yu, who was usually the most noisy, was now sitting on his sister's lap without saying a word.
Something was wrong with the atmosphere.
Qin Shu became uneasy. Could it be that his mother knew about his brother and Qiao?
He began to wonder if that was really the case. If that was the case, then he had to help. If even his brother and Qiao couldn't get through his mother, then how could he and Yee Fann get through?
Seeing his mother's gloomy face, Qin Shu quickly walked over and sat down beside her. He put his arm around her and asked, "Mom, what's wrong with you? Why do you look so unhappy? "
As he asked his mother, he carefully looked at his brother, Qin Lang, who kept winking at him. For a moment, he did not understand, thinking that his brother was asking him for help.
So, he said to his mother, "Mom, did my brother make you angry? It's the New Year, so let's not lower ourselves to his level."
"What do you mean don't lower yourself to his level? Go and stand properly." Qin's mother pulled her arm out and pointed at the corner of the living room.
Qin Shu still remembered that when he was young, whenever he made a mistake, his parents would not beat him or scold him. They would always let him stand alone in the corner of the living room.
It seemed that it was not that his brother and Qiao Lin's matter had been exposed, but that he had unknowingly made a mistake and offended his mother?
Qin Shu knew that at this time, he must not contradict his mother or ask too many questions. Otherwise, he would stand there for even longer, so he could only stand in the corner with a belly full of doubts.
No wonder his brother gave him a look just now. It turned out that he was telling him not to provoke his mother.
But what did he do to make his mother angry? Could it be that he had gone out on the pretext of finding a classmate reunion and made his mother angry by not being at home for a day? Or did he unknowingly make some other mistake these days?
Qin Shu thought about his headache but could not think of a reason. He thought about how his family had already eaten dinner and still did not know what mistake he had made.
Fortunately, he was full enough at Yee Fann's house for lunch, so he didn't feel hungry. Otherwise, as a big foodie, he would have starved to death looking at the table of dishes before he could think of a reason.
Qin Shu stood in the corner for an hour until his family finished their dinner and watched the news broadcast. He still couldn't figure out what mistake he had made.
His brother and sister were too much. No one came to remind him.
He was tired after standing there for so long. He didn't know why he was being punished. He was not a kid anymore.
"Mom, you can punish me, but you have to let me face the wall. You have to let me know what I did wrong so that I can reflect on it."
"What's wrong?" Qin's mother shifted her gaze from the television to her youngest son. "All right, then I'll ask you. Who sent you back this evening?"
Qin Shu immediately felt that something was wrong when he heard his mother's question. It was no wonder that the air pressure at home was so low when he came back. But why was his mother angry? Did she see Yee Fann? That shouldn't be the case. Yee Fann never got out of the car. And he and Yee Fann had stayed downstairs for a while. Who would have seen them? The brother wouldn't complain, the sister wouldn't, the future brother-in-law wouldn't, and the mother wouldn't have seen them in person. How could he not see them on his way back in such a short time? And the way he looked at his mother when he came back didn't look like he'd just come back.
So he thought his mother was trying to trick him into telling the truth.
"Mom, he is my classmate. Didn't I tell you to attend the class reunion today? It must be a classmate who sent me back."
"Not bad, kid. I haven't been home for a year, and you've learned to lie. Did you really go to the class reunion today? What classmate? High school? Junior high school? Or primary school? You went to sing before you even graduated from college. It shouldn't be a classmate gathering, right? "
"Mom, I..." Qin Shu was getting more and more panicked. It seemed that this lousy excuse could not be hidden from his mother anymore.
"You can't say it? Even if it's a reunion, I don't need to be so reluctant to send you back. I even kissed you."
"Mom, you..." Qin Shu turned around and looked at his mother in surprise.
"When you got home for dinner I went downstairs with your sister and happened to pass the car you were in. You must have been surprised to see what you weren't supposed to see." His mother's face and tone grew colder and colder. "Shu, if you want to be in love, I won't object to or interfere with any girl you like, but the other party is a man. Tell me, are you two joking around in the car?"
