C7 I like Being a Father

"Dad."

As soon as Qiao Lin denied it, the child pulled on his clothes and called out to him again.

The waiter did not know what to say and laughed dryly, "Hehe, I'll go to the kitchen first. I'll come back when the child decides what to eat."

Once the waiter left, only Qiao Lin and the unfamiliar child were left in the restaurant.

He crouched down patiently, took the boy by the small shoulders, turned him around, and pointed to the open door of the dining room. "Don't call me Daddy, boy," he said.

After explaining to the little boy, Qiao Lin stood up, but his clothes were grabbed again.

The child looked at him with a wronged expression, tears quickly gathering in his eyes as if they were about to fall out of his big eyes, "You are daddy, daddy, I'm hungry."

Qiao Lin was almost driven mad by the repetitive calls of 'Dad'. Even if he wanted to be a father, he should not be like this. To be a father, he had to have a girlfriend or an ex-girlfriend, but his girlfriend had always only left and right hands.

He suddenly wanted to see what the parents of this child looked like and how they taught the child. He could not just call them 'father' whenever he saw them.

"Daddy, daddy," Seeing that Qiao Lin was ignoring him, the child grabbed his clothes and shook it a few times, "I'm hungry."

Qiao Lin began to suspect that this child only knew how to call him daddy.

He was at a loss as to what to do. He thought that the child must have been lost, and for some reason had followed him. The child's parents must have been anxious, and he decided to be a good man and send him to the police station.

But the child kept saying that he was hungry, so he decided to talk about it after dinner.

"Give me another small bowl of beef noodles." Qiao Lin shouted towards the kitchen and suddenly remembered that it was not easy for children to digest beef. He quickly changed his words, "No beef, I want meatballs."

After ordering the noodles, he carried the child to a chair and sat down opposite him.

While he was waiting, he quickly asked the child, "Kid, what's your name?"

"Yu," the child replied in a childish voice.

"What about your father? And what are your mother's names?" Qiao Lin tried to get the names of his parents from Yu so that he could send them to the police station and help him find his parents.

Yu pursed his lips and shook his head.

Since the child was too young, he probably did not remember his parents' names, so Qiao Lin gave up on questioning him. When he sent the child to the police station later, someone would investigate, so there was no need for him to worry about it.

Soon, the noodles were served on the table. During the meal, Qiao Lin realized that the child's parents had actually taught Yu well. At Yu's age, most children had to rely on their parents to feed them. However, Yu could actually eat noodles, which were very difficult to handle for a child, with his chopsticks without any problems. Furthermore, he ate them very well, quietly and without making any indecent sounds.

Just as Qiao Lin was finishing his noodles and waiting for Yu, his phone suddenly rang. When he saw the words' Landlord 'on the screen, he remembered that he should have paid the rent a few days ago. However, he had been very busy recently - it was already midnight every time he returned to the rented house. It was not that he had no time to pay the rent, but that he was so busy that he had completely forgotten about it.

As soon as the call connected, the landlady's angry voice sounded in his ears, "Qiao Lin, I've been waiting for you for a few days, but you always turn off your phone when I call you, so don't blame me for being heartless. It was you who didn't pay for the renewal of the lease. I've already left all your things outside the door. I've already rented the house to someone else, so you should come and take them away as soon as possible. They'll be in the way in the corridor, so it's none of my business if they're lost."
