C1 After six years

Diane took deep steady breaths, bit down on her bottom lip to make it less pale and full and she dabbed her face to remove sweat. She knew what she was about to do and it required her to look good at least.

"You can do this Diane" she motivated herself. "he's not going to eat you"

She inhaled deeply again and knocked on the door in front of her.

She didn't get a response and she tried again but didn't also get a response.

Wasn't he around? But there was a car parked here and she guessed it was his. So why wasn't he answering? She knocked again, firmer this time and the door swang open when she was about to knock again.

Standing in her front was her first love. The man who took away her innocence and fled from her as quickly as possible. She couldn't bring herself to ever forgive him for what he did to her but she was tired of holding the grudge for years now. She wasn't doing this for herself anyway.

Seth Lombardi looked as gorgeous as she saw him six years ago. He'd aged a bit and grown a lot more hairier but that didn't stop his beauty. Memories came rushing in as she stared at him. Memories that she kept hidden for six years.

"Diane..." He said in shock. "how long has it been? How-how did you find me?"

It took a lot of time and resources to find him; that she had to admit. One would wonder why she'd go through all that for a man who dumped her and married another, six years ago but she had a reason for her actions.

"Won't you let me in?" She asked curtly

He slowly let her in as his eyes were glued to her.

Diane took in the house as she got in. It was beautiful; typical Seth. The place where he lived in during the time they spent together was much more beautiful than this though and it had so many memories of them.

"Nice house" she said in a sour tone. "It sure as hell was difficult for me to find"

"Why were you looking for me?" He asked. "surely you weren't hoping to rekindle what we had six years ago..."

She scoffed. "In your dreams"

"Why then have you come here?" He raised his voice as his patience wore thin.

"One thing you lack in your thirty one years of living, Seth is remorse. You stomp on people's feelings, plans, achievements and you do so without feeling a damn thing!" she lashed out at him.

"By saying 'people' do you mean just you?" He smirked

"Don't act dumb when you know exactly what you did six years ago!"

"I don't remember stomping on your feelings, Diane" he contradicted "all I remember is that you and I had a little fun before I got married"

"Fun" she scoffed. "he says we had fun" she mumbled to herself then let out a derisive chuckle.

"Yes Diane, fun" he said as he neared her. "an unforgettable one at that because if not so, then I wonder why you've come this far in search of me"

"Move away from me" her cheeks flushed as she eyed him acridly

"Why beat around the bush Diane? Why not just do what you came here for?" He said cynically

‘No…’ Diane mumbled, when she saw him as she clashed unavoidably with the scorching charge of his heated gaze.

‘Never say no to me,’ Seth intoned huskily. ‘When you slam a door in my face, I kick it down.’

She had forgotten—oh, dear God, how could she have forgotten?—how he could make her feel. It was terrifying… It was as though a physical force-field enclosed her, locking out every brain-wave. Her own heartbeat pounded in her eardrums. Excitement, raw and dangerous, leapt through every single skin-cell. Her breasts were already stirring beneath the thin barrier of her bra, her nipples pinching into sudden painful tightness.

‘Stop it…’ she framed unevenly, yet she was trapped in unmoving stasis.

‘But I’m not doing anything…yet.’ He lowered his gleaming dark head slowly. Her breath hung suspended and then he pressed his mouth hotly to the tiny pulse flickering wildly above her collarbone. Every bone in her body melted in a burst of feverish heat. Her head fell back, her throat extending. She trembled violently, an upswell of sensation suddenly released with devastating force. Her hands flew up of their own volition, one finding his shoulder, the other spearing into his hair, and just touching him again felt so good that she ached.

Raising his head, he ravaged her soft mouth with a sudden devouring hunger that took her by storm. He prised her lips apart with the tip of his tongue and then plundered the tender interior with carnal expertise. Her fingernails dug into his shoulder, a passion wilder than anything she had ever known consuming her as she answered that sensual demand, returning his kisses with all the fire of her own response.

Without warning, Seth tore himself free. Hard hands clamping round her slender forearms, he thrust her back from him, fierce derision stamped in his lean features as he looked down at her and released his pent-up breath in a hiss.

Dragged back to the present, she discovered that Seth was now so close that she could feel the heat of him. Her spine was already in contact with the window behind her. ‘You know nothing about me!’ she protested shakily

‘You excite me—what else is important?’ he said thickly, regarding her with sizzling intensity from the vantage point of his greatly superior height.

Her breasts were stirring, swelling. A heady languor was sweeping through her limbs, a betraying twist of high-voltage sexual awareness curling low in the pit of her stomach. But she fought every treacherous sensation with all her might, wild colour burnishing her openly dismayed face. "You used me for fun, tossed me aside and married someone else! How can you--?" she asked

‘Desire you?’ Seth filled in, his hands settling down on her narrow shoulders with a pronounced air of finality. ‘Sex is an appetite. If I’m tired, I sleep. If I’m hungry, I eat. If I’m——’

‘Shut up and let go of me!’ Diane was starting to tremble, a terrible fear stirring inside her as she was subjected to the magnetic pull of his smouldering gaze. Her head whirled and her body no longer felt as though it belonged to her. Don’t you dare touch me——’

‘You’re scared of this…’ With a blunt forefinger he traced the scooped neckline of her summer dress, his touch so light that it whispered across her skin, but it left a trail of fire in its wake, made her breath catch in her throat, made the blood in her veins pound in insane acceleration. ‘Now isn’t that an interesting discovery?’ he murmured in a satisfied purr. ‘You’ve got an Achilles’ heel after all, cara. That steel trap of a brain can’t control what I make you feel and naturally that scares you.’

‘Don’t——’

‘Don’t what?’ In an indolently smooth movement, Seth dropped his hands to the swell of her hips and swept her up into his arms, a primitive blaze of triumph firing his lancing gaze. ‘Don’t touch you because you’re afraid I might realise how desperate you are for my caresses? Don’t touch you because you might give yourself to me for nothing?’ He flung back his dark head and laughed with hard satisfaction. ‘And you will. With me, there will be no price!’
