C11 She is an Orphan

Ten minutes later, his phone rang.

David picked up the call, "What is the result?"

Butler immediately replied, "Young master, it is actually the fault from the side of a maid. Young madam asked her a glass of water and she acted as young madam doesn't exists. This made madam angry and she threw down the vase in order to teach them a lesson".

David felt a slight twitch in his heart. It turned out to be like this. He sighed.

Hearing this, butler asked, "Sir, are you alright?"

David replied, "Yeah it's fine. Actually I felt like I went a little overboard".

Butler was silent for a few seconds and replied, " Young master, actually young madam is a good person. That's why old master likes her so much. I don't know your grudge with her, but I can only say that you should cherish her".

Butler was working in his family since David was young. So David has a huge respect for him. So butler used to point out his mistakes that other people doesn't even dare to speak of.

David : "Okay. Thanks for your hardwork" and then he hung up the call.

For a few minutes he stood still staring at something outside the window. No one knows what's going on in his mind.

After a while he turned around and saw the little girl on the sick bed looking at him.

He was pleasantly surprised and went up to her and asked "How are you now? Do you feel any pain? Do i need to call the doctor? ".

Erica just looked at the him silently.

Noticing her deep gaze, he felt slightly embarrassed and dodged her. He was not a person who could apologize very easily. He was a high and mighty CEO looked down on other. How could he bow down before someone.

After coughing lightly he looked at her and said, "Your wound has been cleaned up. You are alight now. You just passed out due to the intense pain. Let the water in the IV drip get complete and then we can leave the hospital." And then he sat on the sofa present in the ward and fiddled with the phone.

She was still silent. Her silence made him feel a little nervous. He don't know what she is upto.

After a while, she opened her mouth,

" Do I have a family? "

He was stunned by her question and was at a loss of words.

Because she was an orphan.

And when she was 15 years old his father picked her from the orphanage and let her live in his mansion.

From then on she was leaving at the old man's mansion. But other than his dad, no one in his family considered her a member of their family. Even he himself haven't given her a good face back then. And afterwards when the old man compelled him to marry her, he became totally against her. After the marriage he doesn't leave any opportunity to humiliate her. So everyone around them knows that she was just a wife in name. So no one had given her any good face. Since he disliked her he doesn't bother with the attitude of people on her.

Even after all the avoidance and humiliation she still used to smile at him with her innocent bright eyes and call him "Brother David".

Now when he thought about all this he actually felt a bit of pity for her.

Erica saw his dazed look and called lut to him again. David immediately came back to his senses and looked at her.

Now what he saw in those eyes was not the infatuation towards him but a kind of strange alienation. He felt a little sad. After that he replied with a heavy voice, "Your family members are us".

She felt confused and gave him a puzzled look.

Understanding her confusion he said, " You were an orphan and my dad picked you from an orphanage and from then on we are your family members".

She felt as if fate was playing a joke on her. In her previous life also she was an orphan and in this life too she is a homeless child. Compared to this, her previous life was better. Atleast no one was there to torture and injure her. She had absolute freedom. But now, her situation is more pathetic than before.

She gave out a self deprecating smile.

David could not bear to watch her smile which was uglier than crying.

As if he had an important call he took his phone and left the ward.

When the ward returned to tranquility, she just looked at the ceiling in a daze.

She could not continue like this.

Now that she understood her new life a bit, she need to take the action.

Since she can't return to her previous life, she could only continue being the new Erica. She has the power of a rich young madam.

Even though no one gives her face, as long as she has the backing of David's father , no one can bully her. Everyone used to ride on top of the head of the owner of the body due to her timid and meek character.

But she isn't like that.

If someone give her a slap, she will give tenfold of it.
