C3 Feigning Ignorance

After a simple wash, Erica came from the washroom and Alice supported her as she laid down on the bed. After giving some instructions to Erica, James left the ward as he had to check a few more patients.

Alice asked "What do you need for lunch"?

Erica replied , " Anything is fine."

Alice thought for a moment and said "Okay, then I will bring bone soup which can replenish your body. Look at you,how thin you are now. It seems like a wind can blow you away. Doesn't anyone give you food to eat."

Alice said as she threw out a look of disdain to David. David acted as he didn't noticed Alice's gaze. Erica felt warm for Alice's concern. Since she was a child no one has cared about her.

Even though she knows that this concern was not for her, but to the owner of the body she couldn't care less. She just cherished the present moment.

After Alice went out to buy the soup, there was only 2 people inside the ward. The ward was so quiet that she felt a little awkward. She felt like she is about to suffocate.

So she looked towards David and happen to meet his gaze and instantly her face turned red and she immediately looked away.

She doesn't know how the owner of this body treat him. If she behaves rudely to him, will he have some suspicion.

Anyways, she thought of acting amnesia. This could save a lot of trouble.

Then as though she had made up her mind, she again looked at him and said "You can go now, I think Alice would come after a while. Thanks for your concern".

David looked at her and after understanding her intention of driving him away, he felt depressed for a moment.

Earlier , she used to do all that she could in order to make him stay with her. Now that she is driving him away, he felt like he was not used to it.

In order to cover up his embarrassment , he started speaking rudely "."Hey, don't overestimate yourself. I can't wait to leave you. But my father is coming here to visit you. So we need to act like a loving couple so that he could be at ease".

Erica was speechless for a moment and said " It is your father who is coming. So why should I act with you to make him satisfied".

Now it was the turn for David to be speechless. He then sneered and said "What, have you stopped fawning over my father in order to control me? Moreover, It wasn't me who is desperate to act as a loving couple with you".

Erica was so furious that she laughed." So for your kind information I will repeat that I had lost my memory, so dont expect me to do the same thing like before. You can inform your father about my loss of memory and we would no longer needed to act in front of him. So simple and the matter is closed".

After venting her anger, Erica raised her neck like a proud swan and looked at him provocatively.

David was absent minded for a moment. He felt like she has totally changed her character.

Even though a person has lost her memory, she couldn't change her character right?

Then what is the case with her now?

Is she acting arrogantly in order to seek my attention?

David was lost in thought for a moment. At that moment the door was pushed open. Erica and David looked towards the door at the same time.

There stood a middle aged man who seems to be in the age of 50s. He has a slight facial characteristics similar to David. It's just that he has a warm smile on his lips unlike David.

One look we could tell that he is the father of David who was just being mentioned a while ago.

"Child, what happened to you? Don't you know to take care of yourself? If something happens to you I will be sad my child."

Erica looked at the warm hearted man in front of her absent Mindedly. Since childhood no one had spoken to her with such a caring tone.

She felt as if some part of her heart got softened.

Noticing Erica's absent minded gaze, David's father felt something was amiss and was anxious for a moment and asked David,

"David, what happened to her? Why isn't she speaking anything? Have anything happened to the child after fainting? "

David looked towards Erica and replied to his father " Don't worry dad. After the accident, she has lost her memory."

" What?"

His father was shocked and he couldn't react for a moment.

After some seconds, he excitedly walked towards Erica and asked anxiously " Erica , my child, how could you forget everything all of a sudden? Don't you remember me? I am your favorite Mr. John. We used to play the game carrom together and you always used to defeat me. How can you forget all those moments. "

As if he thought of something, he excitedly turned his head to the side and asked

"You, don't you remember David? He is the person you love the most. You were even ready to give your favorite toy for him when you were a child.

"Atleast you remember him right? "

Mr John looked at erica and asked expectantly.

Erica looked at that expectant face and couldn't bear to make him sad.

Still she said, " Sorry Uncle, I don't remember anything. I am grateful for your concern. But I don't have any impression of the incidents mentioned by you".
