C5 Soong Jiayin's Search for Gong Yichen 

Gong Yichen's legs were long. He did not take notice when Soong Jiayin beckoned him to stop. Soong Jiayin could not catch up with him. Very soon Gong Yichen had bolted and Soong Jiayin was left behind. When Soong Jiayin ran outside, she could only view the back of his car as he drove away.

Soong Jiayin broke down. Her entire body trembled with indignation. In her pitiable conditions and still shaking, she dialed Min Peipei.

Min Peipei was prompt in answering the call. Before Soong Jiayin could speak, she repeatedly asked, "Yin, how is it? Did you see Gong Yichen?"

Soong Jiayin took a deep breath. " Peipei, who is your new lecturer?"

"I was just about to call you. You need to know many things. I just checked and found that Gong Yichen is the heir to the Gong Group! Because he was once the dean's favorite student, he made an exception to be our substitute lecturer. Hello... Yin? Are you still listening?"

Soong Jiayin was in shambles and thunderstruck. She stared into the distance and slowly said," Gong Group? I got it." After saying this, she simply hung up.

When Soong Jiayin arrived at the building of the Gong Group, her mood had taken a swirling turn. Her consternation had eased up a lot, and she even felt her flutter. She looked at this luxurious building and felt a trance. Then, she mustered up the courage to step into the building, but before she even took a step inside, she was stopped by a security guard.

"Miss, what can I do for you?" The guard asked with a cold expression.

Soong Jiayin hesitated for a moment and then said, "I need to see Gong Yichen."

The security guard paused and frowned. He took Soong Jiayin to the front desk and told the receptionist, "This lady said she wants to see Mr. Gong."

The receptionist politely smiled at Soong Jiayin and asked, "Have you made an appointment?"

Soong Jiayin's face stiffened and she said, "I don't have an appointment, but..."

"Sorry, madam, but in that case, we can't let you in. Sorry." The receptionist made a gesture for her to leave and said apologetically.

The security guard was just about to thrust Soong Jiayin out when he heard her say, "Wait a minute! I know Gong Yichen! I have urgent matters to discuss with him!"

"If you know Mr. Gong, please make an appointment with him first. Otherwise, I won't let you in, and Mr. Gong isn't in the company right now." The receptionist explained.

"He's not here?" Soong Jiayin was stunned.

The security guard stretched his hand to shove her out. Soong Jiayin came back to her senses and angrily said, "Don't touch me! I can walk by myself!"

The security guard let go of her hand when he heard that. Soong Jiayin slowly walked to the door and sat down on the steps at the door.

The security guard displaying vigilance walked over to Soong Jiayin. Just as he was about to speak, Soong Jiayin unhappily cut his words short and commented, "What's wrong? I can't even sit outside? You guys are too overbearing!"

The security guard hesitated for a moment but did not say anything in the end. However, he stood at the door and kept staring at Soong Jiayin. Soong Jiayin hardly cared. Her gaze was checking every corner of the room. She was determined to see Gong Yichen today.

After a while, Soong Jiayin suddenly felt that her face was wet. She stretched out her hand to feel the drops and only then did she realize that it was raining. Soong Jiayin secretly cursed her bad luck. But she did not want to give up. Hesitating for a moment, she decided to keep waiting and did not budge at all. However, she hadn't expected the rain to get heavier. Soong Jiayin looked at her drenched clothes and pondered whether she should wait.

The security guard walked over and persuaded, "Miss, I advise you not to wait anymore. The rain is so heavy."

Soong Jiayin sneezed before she said anything. She sniffed and shook her head, "No, I have to wait for him to come back. I have to see him today no matter what!"
