C11 Being Humiliated!
Lin Yueyue clenched her fists and stepped forward. As soon as she reached Mo Lengxi's side, he pulled her into a warm embrace with a swift motion of his long arm. His hand moved across her back, radiating a heat that made her uncomfortable, prompting her to shift slightly. In the next moment, she distinctly felt a change in his body.
Her heart tightened, and she instinctively tried to stand up.
"Don't move," Mo Lengxi commanded, his voice rough and breath hot, clearly struggling to suppress rising emotions.
"Let me go! Let me out of here!" Yueyue couldn't hold back her anger any longer and shouted.
"Without giving up the child, do you really think you can leave?" His hand paused on her back, then tightened its grip.
"I told you, I don't have a child!"
Hearing this, Mo Lengxi furrowed his brow and abruptly pushed her away. Caught off guard, Yueyue stumbled a few steps, but luckily, the table behind her prevented a fall.
Mo Lengxi stood up, towering over her with a dark gaze, anger simmering beneath the surface. He intended to grab her chin but noticed a bruise already forming there, a mark from when he brought her back. Instead, he pinched her cheeks with his thumb and forefinger, giving a harsh smile. "That's not what you said in bed!"
Yueyue's heart skipped a beat as she tried to recall the moment, only to realize in frustration that her mind had been foggy, unaware of what she might have said.
What if she had said something she shouldn't have...
She met Mo Lengxi's eyes fearlessly, her tone mocking. "You really believe everything said in bed?"
"Are you mocking him?"
Mo Lengxi's steely gray eyes glinted with a cold sharpness. "Do you really think you can fool me like this? Hand over the child, and I'll let you walk away. Otherwise, you won't even know how you met your end!"
"Of course, I believe Mr. Mo has that kind of power. After all, this city is practically owned by the Mo family," Lin Yueyue retorted sarcastically. "But come to think of it, Mr. Mo, your specialty seems to be dealing with ordinary folks like me. Whatever you say goes, and no matter how much I talk, it's just noise to you."
She rubbed her sore lower back from the collision. "I really don't have a child, believe it or not!" With that, she turned and walked toward the door.
Once outside, Lin Yueyue took a couple of deep breaths, realizing her back was drenched in cold sweat. Reflecting on her earlier words, she found no flaws and felt slightly relieved. If Mo Lengxi had any sense, he'd believe she never had a child!
With that thought, Lin Yueyue headed back to the room she had been in earlier, only to notice the servants looking at her with even more blatant stares. Unable to hold back, she stopped a maid passing by. "Is there something on me? Why are you all staring?"
The maid gave her a complicated look, hesitated for a moment, then stammered, "Miss, you might want to change your clothes."
Clothes?
She hadn't paid attention to her outfit before. Now, prompted by the maid, she looked down and her face turned a myriad of colors. That beast!
Her exposed skin was covered in red marks and bites, clearly indicating what had happened earlier. Damn it!
"Could you please find me something to wear?"
She had wandered around the villa with those marks on display—how embarrassing. The maid shook her head. "Sir hasn't given permission to provide you with clothes. Please don't make it difficult for me."
Lin Yueyue bit her lower lip hard. Did she really have to go back to that man and ask for permission to wear something that could cover the marks on her body?
A maid noticed her frustration and kindly reassured her, "The gentleman is a good person. He won't make things difficult for you."
Yueyue couldn't even muster a response. If that man was considered good, then there were no bad people in the world! She refused to give him the satisfaction of asking for his help. If she could escape this place once, she was sure she could do it again.
Determined, Yueyue nodded. "Alright, I'll go find him in a bit."
She randomly picked a direction and took a few steps before a bodyguard stopped her. "Without the gentleman's orders, you can't wander around."
Yueyue wanted to lash out but instead offered a slight smile. "I'm not wandering. I just wanted to find the kitchen."
The bodyguard remained expressionless. "Please, go back."
"It was the gentleman who asked me to get him something to eat from the kitchen," Yueyue said, tucking her hair behind her ear, subtly revealing the marks on her arm. She smiled lightly, "After all, he did exert quite a bit of energy just now."
The bodyguard quickly looked down and stepped back. He wouldn't dare look at the gentleman's woman, no matter how curious he was.
Seeing his hesitation, Yueyue pressed on, "What? You don't know where the kitchen is either? Maybe I should ask someone else."
"Wait, miss, please follow me," the bodyguard said, leading her in a direction.
Yueyue followed him, encountering several staff members along the way who gave her complex looks.
Just when she thought she couldn't take it anymore, a coat was handed to her.
"You should put this on," the bodyguard said awkwardly, turning his head away.
Yueyue didn't hesitate to drape it over herself. Although it looked a bit mismatched, it covered most of the marks on her body.
Now, she felt a bit uneasy inside. She had planned to seize the opportunity to make a quick escape, but the way things were going made her hesitate to follow through.
As Lin Yueyue pondered how to avoid involving the bodyguard, she found herself already in the kitchen.
"Sir, what would you like to eat? French cuisine, Italian, or..."
Before the maid could finish, Lin Yueyue quickly interrupted, "Just a bowl of plain porridge will do."
The maid, though a bit surprised, didn't ask further questions. She placed the porridge in a thermal container and handed it to Yueyue.
As Lin Yueyue left the kitchen, she discreetly observed her surroundings. When she passed a path leading to the backyard, she suddenly bent over, clutching her stomach in apparent pain. "Oh no..."
"Miss, are you alright?" The bodyguard following closely behind rushed forward.
"I... my stomach hurts. You, you go ahead and deliver this food to your boss. I need to find a restroom..." she said, preparing to dash away.
But the bodyguard hesitated, blocking her path.
Sensing his suspicion, Lin Yueyue reassured him with a hint of exasperation, "Don't worry, there are so many people in this house. Do you really think I could just run off?" With that, she turned and ran off without looking back.
