C14 If You Want to Die I'll Grant You Your Wish!

Upon hearing those words, Mo Lengxi paused, a fiery anger surging through him, pounding at his temples. He gritted his teeth and snarled, "Fine! If you're so eager to die, I'll grant your wish! Hand me the porridge!"

The maids, trembling with fear, handed him the bowl with shaky hands.

Mo Lengxi scooped up a spoonful of porridge and forcefully brought it to Lin Yueyue's lips.

Without even glancing at him, Lin Yueyue opened her mouth to drink the porridge.

"Bang!"

The bowl shattered, sending shards and splatters of white porridge across the floor, stark against the dark carpet.

Lin Yueyue seemed oblivious to the storm of anger brewing around her. Her pale lips curled into a defiant smirk. "What? Are you mad now?"

"Lin Yueyue! Don't think I won't do anything to you!" Mo Lengxi, who usually referred to her simply as "woman," called her by her full name for the first time, his voice laced with barely contained rage.

"Then go ahead," Lin Yueyue challenged, tilting her neck back like a swan on the brink of death—beautiful, fragile, yet unyieldingly stubborn.

His large hand suddenly gripped her throat, and Lin Yueyue winced in pain, her breath constricted.

The increasing pressure on her throat was a clear reminder that this man truly intended to kill her.

But rather than endure endless captivity here, perhaps death would be a release...

She slowly closed her eyes, her face turning as white as paper, devoid of any color.

As Mo Lengxi realized that the small figure beneath his hand was stubbornly resigned to her fate, the fury in his eyes almost became tangible.

This damn woman, how dare she try to die! Without his permission, it's impossible!

Staring intently at the woman barely clinging to life before him, Mo Lengxi muttered a curse under his breath and quickly released his grip. "Get a doctor here, now," he ordered coldly.

"Yes... yes..." The maids didn't waste a second and rushed out to get help.

...

Who knows how much time passed before Lin Yueyue awoke again, her eyes meeting the stark white ceiling. Was she in a hospital?

"Miss Lin, your body is mostly fine. It was just poor diet and emotional stress. Rest for a couple of days, and you'll be okay," a gentle female voice reassured her.

Turning her head to the empty room, Yueyue asked the nurse beside her, her voice a bit hoarse, "Where am I?"

"You're at the Mo Mansion, of course."

Her heart sank heavily. The Mo Mansion? Had she not escaped this hellish place yet? No, she couldn't go on like this.

"I want to see him!"

"Uh..." The nurse hesitated for a moment before respectfully agreeing, "Please wait a moment..."

...

In the elegant dining room of this lavish mansion, a round table was laden with an array of dishes waiting for someone to enjoy.

Mo Lengxi looked at the spread with a blank expression, his brow furrowed. "All you ever make is this inedible stuff. Can’t you cook anything else? I'm not paying you to make the same dish day after day! Get someone else!"

"Yes... yes..." The servants inwardly groaned. Over the past few days, they'd already gone through a dozen chefs.

After giving his orders, Mo Lengxi strode into the study. On the computer screen, a live feed showed Lin Yueyue’s room. She sat at the head of the bed, her eyes vacant, staring into nothingness. Her face was pale, and compared to when they first met, she looked as fragile as a paper doll that could be blown away by the slightest breeze.

"Hmph!" Mo Lengxi let out a heavy, cold snort, determined to see how long she would keep up her stubbornness. After all, he had all the time in the world.

*Knock, knock, knock.*

"Mr. Mo, Miss Lin wants to see you." The study door was respectfully knocked.

Mo Lengxi's lips curled slightly, and his usually cold, distant face finally showed a hint of a smile. "Let her wait."

"Yes, sir."

This game wasn't something she could stop whenever she wanted.

As night gradually fell, Lengxi finally made his way to the room where Lin Yueyue was held. The room was stark white, its emptiness instinctively off-putting. Lin Yueyue lay in a deep, troubled sleep, her brow furrowed with worry.

Mo Lengxi frowned impatiently. She wanted to see him, yet here she was, sound asleep. What was that about?

He took two steps to the bed, reaching out to wake her, but a subtle, unfamiliar scent stopped him. It wasn't any perfume; it was more like a natural human fragrance. Strangely, the scent calmed his mind, which had been restless for days. His hand, poised to touch Lin Yueyue, paused in mid-air.

The next day.

A sliver of morning light slipped through the curtain's gap, piercing the pale room. Lin Yueyue blinked her lashes, realizing it was already daylight, and frowned in annoyance. It seemed he hadn't come yesterday. Was he planning to keep her locked up here forever? How could he be so infuriating?

Angry, she tried to sit up, but as she moved, her arm brushed against warm skin, radiating heat.

"Don't move," a deep, slightly groggy voice warned, wrapping her right hand in his palm. Lin Yueyue instantly froze, her entire body tense.

She would never forget that voice, it belonged to that awful man!
