C11 A Married Woman

With Bright still inside, Rose walked out of a blind spot and saw Theodore Daughtler standing outside the door.

The two men were facing each other, which made Rose feel numb.

She couldn't explain the relationship between her and Bright even if she tried to say it in different ways.

"What are you doing here by this time?" Theodore blurted out as he shifted his gaze from Bright to Rose, who was still wearing pajamas.

"Well, Mr. Lee was just about to leave," Rose said.

Bright ignored his question and asked, "I thought you left already. Why are you still here?"

Theodore gently raised the flowers and fruit basket he was holding. "I forgot to leave these fruits and flowers at the door."

"Well, as for me, I decided to take my time while taking my bath and changing at Miss Linder's place." As Bright said this, he stole a glance at Rose who stood beside him and curled up his lips slightly.

Although what he said was the truth, it sounded somehow dubious in Rose's ears.

"Mr. Lee was the one who rescued me. It's quite normal for him to have a change of clothes," she explained cleverly with a cute smile plastered on her face.

Although she didn't want to explain anything to Theodore, she also didn't want to have any personal relationship with Bright.

She wanted to stay as far away from him as possible.

But as far as Bright was concerned, he felt that she was afraid that Theodore would misunderstand her.

It was obvious that she was in a hurry to cut ties with him as if he was some kind of terrible virus. This made him very unhappy.

Although Bright remained calm and collected, his eyes were dark. "Theodore, let's not interrupt Miss Linder's rest. Let's go to the nearest cafe to have a chat."

Immediately after Bright said this, he walked out and patted Theodore fondly on the shoulder.

Theodore nodded in agreement as he handed the flowers and fruits he was holding to Rose and said, "See you tomorrow morning."

He quickly went to catch up with Bright and went into the elevator with him.

Both Bright and Theodore were tall and handsome. The two of them walking side by side could cast a spell on people with their charming looks.

They had long gotten used to being the center of attention. Most women, if not all, looked at them with so much adoration. They both had indifferent expressions on their faces until they sat in Bright's car.

As soon as Theodore got into the car, he eased himself into the seat and felt very relaxed. "So, tell me, do you like Rose?"

"Rose? You are already calling her name so intimately?" Bright asked as he straightened the corners of his clothes.

"This is a private matter of mine. Even if you're a boss, you can't care so much, right?" Theodore's eyes moved slowly as he looked at the side of his face that was depicted by the light. "But even if you like her, we can still have a fair competition."

"She is not suitable for you," Bright said in a low but deep voice, indicating that he could not be doubted.

"What do you mean? Why isn't she suitable for me?" Theodore asked as he furrowed his brows in a frown. "In my opinion, Rose is a good woman. Just looking at her, you can tell that she will make a good wife and a good mother."

Bright looked at him with coldness and spoke again, "She is already married."

He tried as much as possible to emphasize the word "married".

It was as if Theodore was hit by a lightning bolt. He shifted uneasily in his seat and said with a weary smile, "Mr. Lee, I'm sure you made this up on purpose so that I would quit. This is not a gentleman's way of doing things."

"She is married, but separated from her husband, which is why she has been living like a single lady." Bright's eyes darkened in an instant.

"Scumbag!" Theodore said under his breath and gritted his teeth in anger. He was very dissatisfied.

Hearing this, Bright furrowed his brows. With his voice as cold as the wind in the North Pole, he questioned, "Who are you talking about?"

How could he be called a scumbag? Or was there a scum as handsome and as outstanding like he was?

A lot of women would do everything possible to get in bed with him, but he was never moved by them. He was so uptight that people thought he was gay.

At that moment, Theodore also felt the cold air around him. "I wasn't referring to you, I meant Rose's husband. He doesn't love and cherish such a good woman after he's married her, but leave her to fend for herself. He is so irresponsible and he's such a big shame to manhood!"

"He is just a typical example of having a toilet and not using it when you feel pressed. If I were Rose, I would have left him a long time ago. Even if I didn't, I would have turned him into a grassland! Damn it! This is going too far!"

The more Theodore spoke, the more excited he became, and he even started cursing in such an ungraceful manner.

Bright, on the other hand, relaxed comfortably in the car. Although his handsome face was hidden in the dark and his eyes were closed, his chest heaved slightly.

"Maybe there is something hidden about her husband that we don't know."

"Something hidden? That's just a bunch of silly excuses!" Theodore blurted out. He didn't notice the subtle change in Bright's eyes. But after speaking, he thought about what he had said carefully. He rolled his eyes, turned to face Bright, and said with a cunning smile, "Mr. Lee, do you think Rose's husband can't do it, you know?"

All of a sudden, Bright opened his eyes. They looked extremely cold in the dark.

At that instant, Theodore felt chills all over. He straightened his clothes nervously and said, "Am I wrong? Otherwise, why would a normal couple be separated? They are either abnormal or irresponsible."

"It's their decision and they are happy about it. It doesn't have anything to do with you," Bright snorted, thinking that he was meddling in other people's business.

"Well, I insist on being nosy in this matter." It was obvious that Theodore was still in the mood. "I want to help her get out of that bitter sea called marriage."

Instantly, Bright signalled to the driver to stop the car and ordered Theodore out. "Get off the car this minute!"

He had been holding back his anger all this while, but right now, he could no longer stand Theodore's excesses.

Theodore was stunned for a moment. He thought Bright was joking. "Mr. Lee, what's the matter with you?"

"Don't you understand simple English? I said get off!" Bright's perfect face was covered with a layer of frost. He was not joking at all. "Or do you want me to throw you out myself?"

Theodore couldn't be more embarrassed. He stopped smiling, opened the door gently, and got off the car. He stood next to the car, maintaining the demeanor that he should have.

He couldn't help but feel that Bright's temper was very strange.

"Now, let this serve as a reminder. Rose's marriage is very fine and she loves her husband very much. For this reason, she is never going to file for a divorce," Bright said without batting an eyelid. "One last word of advice for you. There are always other single ladies out there. Why would you want to be with a married woman? Besides, she belongs to someone else."

As soon as Bright said this, the car sped past, leaving behind smoke and dust.

Theodore couldn't help but stare in surprise.

KO!

As luck would have it, he knew himself and also his enemy. After getting rid of his "love rival", he finally managed to turn the tables.

As Bright looked at Theodore's speechless expression, the anger, and displeasure he felt in his heart could not dissipate for a moment. He bit the corner of his lips slightly and closed his eyes to rest.

Back at Rose's house...

"Achoo!"

Rose, who was lying in bed without feeling sleepy, sneezed a few times in quick succession.

All she could think of was that Bright, who was the devil's incarnate, must have said a lot of bad things about her again.

She tried to think of what she did to provoke him, but couldn't come up with anything.

But what could she do to him?

She was already agitated and continued to try hard to fall asleep. Once she left this place tomorrow morning, she would be able to clear her head.

Just then, a WeChat notification rang.

She picked up her phone and looked at the screen. She was so angry that she wanted to smash the phone to pieces!
