C20 A Visit To Waylon

After a busy day at work, Rose Linder closed for the day and went to kindergarten to pick up Doris. She was now prepared to go to the hospital to visit Waylon Diaz.

Waylon was a friend and also a teacher to her. Without his help and support, she would not have achieved what she had today.

"Rose, I haven't had hotpot for a long time. Shall we go out tonight?" Evelyn Howard asked as she changed from her work clothes and returned to her enchanting self.

Evelyn was very lively, charming, and had a forthright personality. However, what surprised Rose was that she chose to become a simple kindergarten teacher.

"I am going to the hospital to see Mr. Diaz today," Rose said after taking Doris. "Why don't you come with me? After seeing Mr. Diaz, we can go to eat hotpot."

"Aunt Evelyn, there are many single guys and maybe if you look well enough, you can find someone to be your husband. Don't hang yourself on a tree as my mother did," Doris said as she shook Evelyn's hand twice. "Let's go."

Rose was at a loss for words.

"You are becoming a big girl," Evelyn said as she was amused by Doris's words. She stretched out her index finger and poked Doris's forehead lightly.

Evelyn drove to the hospital together with them. Rose already bought flowers and fruits for Waylon, but by the time they got to the hospital, he was not in his ward.

The sun was so hot that day, so the nurse had to wheel him to the garden to get some fresh air.

Rose put down the things she came with and took the elevator downstairs to find him. She ran across the hall hurriedly and didn't notice that a familiar figure was staring at her.

"Mr. Lee, isn't that Miss Linder?" Daniel Bailey, who was following Bright closely, also recognized Rose.

"Go to the car and wait for me there," Bright said to him and walked a few steps back into a consultation room.

The door plate of the consultation room read, "Gynaecology Room VIP 1."

When Rose walked to the garden behind the inpatient building, the nurse also happened to push Waylon back. Their gazes both met.

Waylon, who was sitting in the wheelchair, looked at Rose, who was standing on the curved staircase, and his eyes flashed in surprise.

The afterglow of the early spring sunset was around him. It was as if he was inlaid with a layer of beautiful golden light. It made his originally gentle and handsome face even more refined. He was as gentle as a dove and this made people feel as if they were bathed in a spring breeze.

Rose walked over and stood in front of him. He raised his head slightly and looked at her with a charming smile. "Are you free to come here?" he asked.

"Yes, I came after I was done with work," Rose replied as she scanned his body.

"You have worked so hard in the last few days," Waylon said. He had heard about the signing ceremony between the two companies. "Mr. Lee isn't a person who is easy to get along with, right?"

"Well, he's not bad." She wasn't in the mood to talk about Bright, so she changed the topic, "How are you recovering?"

"The doctor said I can be discharged in a week." Waylon also felt that he was going to become crippled with the constant bed rest.

"Although our Design Department can't wait for you to take charge of its affairs, your health is more important." Rose hoped that he could return to his best state.

"I'm fine already. Don't worry about me," he comforted her. "Sit for a while."

"Okay." She sat down and accompanied him to enjoy the scenery under the willow tree by the lake.

Evelyn, on the other hand, was playing with Doris under the arc-shaped corridor in the garden. From time to time, she would look at the two sitting side by side.

Looking at the combination of handsome men and beautiful women around was so warm that it was like a beautiful oil painting.

"Doris, come here," Evelyn called out to her with a wave.

Doris walked over to where Evelyn was and sat next to her. "What's wrong?" she asked.

"Do you like Uncle Diaz?" Evelyn asked her.

"Yes, I do." Uncle Diaz was very good to her. He often came by to see them and always bought her toys.

"Then let him take care of mommy and also be your daddy. Do you agree?" Evelyn was trying to get a chance for Waylon.

She had seen his silent concern for Rose all these years.

He was a good man who they could rely on for the rest of their lives.

Doris answered without any hesitation, "Aunt Evelyn, Uncle Diaz can't be my father."

"Why, Doris?" Evelyn frowned and did not understand. "I thought you said you like him."

"It's one thing for me to like him, but my mommy only treats him as a friend. Otherwise, she wouldn't have made him wait all these years. My mom is too simple-minded, just like me." Doris looked and thought like an adult. She was able to see through the relationship.

Evelyn opened her eyes wide in shock. She wanted to give Doris big praise for her analysis.

"Well, what do you think? Will there still be a turning point in this matter?" Evelyn asked with raised eyebrows. She had a look of anticipation in her eyes.

She curled up her pink lips tightly and shook her head. "I don't think there's any chance."

"Why? Don't you like Uncle Diaz? You will be helping him and also helping your mommy." Evelyn winked at the little girl. She was very charming.

"Aunt Evelyn, to think that you're my mommy's best friend and you don't even know this." She was probably a fake best friend in the eyes of Doris.

Evelyn used her body to nudge Doris lightly. With a guilty laugh, she said, "Please, Princess Doris, give me some pointers."

"Look, my mom loves my dad too much. She is so in love that even if my dad turns into a star in the sky, she will still love him till the end. Just like how I love my parents and Jeremiah till death." She sighed sadly, "Hmm, what a terrible fate."

There was silence for a few seconds.

Love? Too much?

'Can Doris stop being funny?' Evelyn thought.

She wanted to laugh, but didn't dare to laugh out loud. She was afraid that it would cause her internal injuries.

"Aunt Evelyn, you don't believe me, right?" Doris pouted her pink lips and blinked hard as she looked at Evelyn, who was covering her mouth and trying to hold back her laughter.

"I believe you, Doris," she replied and stretched out her hands to comb her hair bangs.

In the child's heart, she was the crystallization of the love between her parents. She was born in love.

But Doris was an accident and also innocent in all this. There were some truths that Evelyn could not tell her so as not to hurt her pure little heart.

"Daddy and mommy love each other very much."

Only then did Doris smile with satisfaction and said, "All right. I'll continue playing ball."

"Go ahead, then."

Playing with the rubber ball, she was very happy all by herself.

All of a sudden, the ball rolled away and Doris quickly chased after it, wanting to pick it up.

However, the ball kept rolling farther away from her until it stopped in front of a man's pair of shiny black leather shoes.

The man looked at Doris, who was standing two steps away from him, with his hawk-like eyes, bottomless.

The little girl was wearing a light pink princess dress. She looked so sweet like a little princess from a fairytale world. She also had a cute appearance, a pair of big black and white eyes that were misty. She was pure and clean, without any impurities in the world.

She walked over and looked carefully at Bright, with her sparkling eyes.

He was the handsome uncle in the video she saw on her mother's phone.

She was now seeing him in person!

'Wow! He looks so handsome,' Doris thought to herself.

His long legs were even longer than that of Jeremiah.

Doris swallowed hard. In her heart, she hoped that Jeremiah would forgive her for climbing the wall for a while.

Bright bent down, picked the ball, and handed it to her. "Little friend, is this your rubber ball?"

"Yes." She took the ball from him and asked with a smile, "Uncle, are you so handsome that you do not have any friends?"

Bright was dumbfounded. This statement was too much of a jump.

"Are you alone?" he asked her while he looked around for her parents.

"No. I'm with my mommy, aunt, and uncle." Doris held the ball in one hand, held Bright in the other, and said, "Follow me, Uncle. I have a surprise for you."
