C21 He Told Her Some Private Matters
Bright looked at the fairy-like little girl and smiled.
"What surprise?"
"Come with me and you'll know." Holding the ball in one hand, Doris took his hand with the other, fearing he would leave.
"I have to find a beautiful lady now." Bright crouched down and looked into her eyes.
When she heard the words "beautiful lady," her eyes widened. "Handsome mister, is she your girlfriend?"
Bright smiled and stroked her soft hair. He shook his head and said, "No."
It's okay then. It means her mom still had a chance.
She sighed in relief, her eyes glued to Bright's handsome face.
She felt that this cool mister was very friendly, and she wanted to get closer to him.
"I won't take too much of your time, okay?" Her mother said it wasn't good to impose your will on others, so it was better to ask him nicely.
Bright never liked wasting time with unimportant things, but he just couldn't bear to refuse this little loli. He felt an inexplicable fondness for her.
He held her hand and nodded. Then he stood up and said, "Lead the way, my little princess."
Seeing that he agreed, she smiled happily, her eyes twinkling.
Infected by her smile, he smiled too.
She led him down the curved stairs.
At the same time, Rose took the nurse's place, pushing Waylon back to the ward.
As a result, the two sides met near the garden fountain, no more than five meters apart.
When Bright and Rose saw each other, surprise and shock flashed through their eyes.
Especially when Rose saw her daughter holding Bright's hand, her heart almost stopped beating. It was as if an invisible hand was gripping her heart, and she could not breathe.
Bright stared sharply at Rose, his dark eyes like deep pools.
She squeezed the handle of Waylon's wheelchair, and her whole body was tense. She was afraid the little girl would call her 'mom.'
But what she feared actually happened!
When Doris saw Rose, she pulled away from Bright's hand and shouted excitedly, "Mom, look, I found the handsome mister on your phone!"
Then she ran towards Rose, who stood stiffly on the spot with her heart in turmoil. Not knowing what to do, she just watched her daughter run towards her.
Well, if Bright found out the relationship between them, she had to admit Doris was her daughter. Nothing was more important than her child.
Rose made up her mind but was a step slower than Evelyn. The latter took a step forward, hugged the girl, and gently reminded her, "Baby, don't run so fast. Mommy will feel pain for you if you fall."
Being hugged by Evelyn halfway, her eyes showed cleverness.
Auntie Evelyn claimed to be her mommy, so there must be something wrong.
"Doris, let's play a game. From now on, we pretend I am your mommy until this bad man leaves. If you win, I'll take you to Doug's concert next time. What do you say?"Evelyn used her secret crush to lure her.
"It's a deal." She went all out for her idol. She didn't even acknowledge her own mother and didn't even want the handsome mister anymore.
This way, Evelyn had solved this difficult situation and covered up the truth.
She knew Rose would be worried that Bright would find out about Doris. All she could do was stand by her good friend, support her and help protect her little one.
Rose's stiff body gradually loosened up, her face regained its color, and her expression relaxed.
Bright walked steadily towards Waylon. His perfect profile was painted with the last touch of warm orange by the setting sun, and the contrast between light and shadow outlined his sharp features.
He was silent, but his aura was powerful.
"Mr. Lee, I've heard of you for a long time." Waylon raised his head slightly. His eyes in the warm light looked extremely gentle.
"Mr. Diaz, are you doing well these days?" Bright had also heard about Waylon.
His reputation in the business world was well known. Bright appreciated his skills and professional competence.
"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Lee. I will be discharged soon." Waylon expressed his gratitude, "After all, the project of the City J theater is very important to your company. It's also the first time Rose has taken on such a big project, and I'm afraid she'll have a hard time. As her superior, I am not allowed to relax. I have to take care of my people."
Listening to this, Bright felt that Waylon was declaring sovereignty.
"Mr. Diaz is really a good boss." Bright looked at the silent Rose. "Miss Linder, don't you think so?"
Rose, who kept her eyes down because of guilt and fear, looked up slightly and smiled. "Mr. Diaz is a rare talent and also a good superior. I am very grateful to him for helping me grow."
She was really something else. She actually affectionately praised another man in front of him. What was he, this excellent "husband" in her eyes?
The trace of the smile in Bright's eyes disappeared, turning into a deep sea.
Even though the sun had not yet set completely, the warmth left in the air could not match the pressure of his aura.
"Miss Linder, can I have a word with you?" Bright asked.
"Why can't you say it here? There are no outsiders." Rose was afraid to be alone with him.
"I have some personal matters to discuss with you." He smiled like a cunning old fox as if everything was under his control. "Are you sure you want me to say it here? There are some things about your privacy... It's hard for me to say."
Waylon's hands clenched on the armrest of the wheelchair because of Bright's ambiguous words.
Rose, on the other hand, was a little embarrassed and angry because of his triumphant smile. "Mr. Lee, you have to take responsibility for what you said."
"Of course I take responsibility." Bright turned swiftly, not giving Rose a chance to hesitate.
Because his words were very serious, she did not dare to gamble.
Rose struggled internally as she let go of the wheelchair handle and followed after Bright.
Waylon's gaze followed Rose, feeling anxious and worried.
Evelyn and Doris were also very worried. Facing Bright, Rose would be at a disadvantage no matter what.
They stood face to face in the arched hallway with vines hanging down.
"What is it?" Rose Linder looked at him on high alert.
Bright slowly pulled an A4 piece of paper from his suit pocket and handed it to her.
Rose shot him a suspicious look, then picked up the A4 paper and unwrapped it. When she read the last line, her white face suddenly turned red as if it was dripping blood.
"Rouge!" Embarrassed and angry, Rose crumpled the paper into a ball.
