C27 I will Definitely Marry You

The banquet ended at nine o'clock. Rose was brought back by Grandma Linder to the family villa.

The car slowly drove inside. Five years later, Rose returned to the Linder family, but everything felt strange and unfamiliar- as if she had never lived here.

When she returned to this home, except for her grandmother, no one really welcomed her, they even hated her, but she didn't care at all.

Rose helped her grandmother sit on the sofa in the living room. Greyson and Riley sat together, while Naomi and Wyatt sat next to them. The family of four was warm and harmonious.

She was the extra one.

"Grandma, let me help you to your room to rest." Rose saw that it was getting late.

"I have something to say." Grandma Linder blocked Rose's hand and pulled her to sit beside her.

"Mom, it's late, and we're tired after today. Why don't we talk about it tomorrow?" Greyson was a little tired, but mainly he didn't want to talk about Rose's return to the Linder family.

"Yes, Mom. The doctor told you to rest more. It's good for your health." Riley chimed in like a good daughter-in-law.

"What is it? I'm not even dead yet, and you don't listen to me anymore?" Grandma Linder shouted angrily. How could she not know what they were thinking?

"Mom, that's not what we meant. Don't be angry." Said the couple.

"Grandma, don't be angry. You make me worry," Rose said, frowning.

Grandma Linder looked at the sensible Rose and gently patted her hand to comfort her, "I am fine."

Then she looked at Greyson and the other three, "I know my condition, and I don't have more than a few years to live. Today on my 80th birthday, my only wish is to know what happened back then. Why did Wyatt and Rose separate? I want to know if Rose was wronged!"

Wyatt and Rose had been childhood sweethearts and were very happy with each other.

Wyatt's character and family background were flawless. She and her husband had approved of him as their grandson-in-law.

But, she did not expect her husband to pass away. Then, she went abroad to recover and returned to attend Wyatt and Naomi's wedding. They told her that Rose had gone abroad.

Wyatt was silent. He lowered his head and frowned slightly.

"Wyatt, if you betrayed Rose for Naomi, I will not forgive you." Seeing that he didn't say anything, Grandma Linder could not control her anger.

Thinking about how Rose had suffered for five years after leaving the family, her heart ached, and she blamed herself.

"Grandma, this is not Wyatt's fault. Wyatt and I are in love, and we want to be together." Naomi told the "truth" and said, "Grandma, even if you love my sister, you shouldn't be so biased. I'm your granddaughter too. Isn't my happiness as important as hers in your eyes?"

"Naomi, don't talk to grandma like that." Greyson scolded his daughter.

"Mom, Naomi is still immature. Don't blame her." Riley glared at her daughter.

"Wyatt..." Grandma Linder addressed him directly.

"Grandma, I..." Wyatt found it hard to speak. He looked at Rose.

When he found out that Rose had betrayed him, he was very hurt and hated her because she gave up so quickly. But everything happened a long time ago, and even though he still hated her, he didn't want to talk about what happened then. He wouldn't be a man if he did.

"Grandma, it is me who rejected Wyatt." Rose patted her grandma's chest and took responsibility.

If her grandmother kept inquiring, she was afraid that finding out the truth would anger her so much that her illness would relapse.

"Rose, you don't have to lie to me. I saw your feelings for Wyatt. You liked him." Grandma Linder refused to believe, trusting her intuition.

"Grandma, you and grandpa liked Wyatt a lot back then, so I liked him too. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten engaged to him. But later, I realized I didn't really like him. Since Naomi likes him, we should let them be together." Rose smiled, suppressing her bitterness.

Grandma Linder frowned and did not say anything. She still wasn't convinced.

"Grandma, I am happy now, and this is more important than anything else. Let the past be the past. The future is more important, and I will definitely meet someone better." These words were meant to comfort and explain.

Grandma Linder looked at her granddaughter for a long time. Her eyes filled with tears of heartache, and she said faintly, "It's all my fault. Rose, don't worry. I'll find you someone better than Wyatt!"

"There's no need." Rose did not want her grandmother to do something pointless. She did not have any intention to engage in a relationship. "Marriage depends on fate."

"Fate? What about Mr. Lee?" Grandma Linder was deeply impressed with Bright today. "Do you need my help?"

Rose was embarrassed. What did it have to do with Bright?

"Grandma, I only have a professional relationship with him." Rose raised two fingers and swore, "Don't misunderstand."

The light in grandma's eyes faded. "Rose, I'm not criticizing you. Look, Naomi is married even though she is younger than you. And your best friend, Quinn, is the same. She married Charlie Wilson at the age of twenty. She has been married for five years. Why don't you learn from her so I won't worry about you? I only want to find someone to whom I can entrust you with peace of mind, so when I see your grandfather, I can tell him that someone will help us take care of you and love you in our place.

"Grandma, don't say that. You still have many years ahead." Rose changed the subject. "As long as you rest and recover, I will accompany you every day until you are tired of me."

This time, she would not leave so soon. Otherwise, she would not have the chance to gain a foothold in the Linder family.

From now on, she would slowly get back at the people who had once hurt her.

When Grandma Linder heard that Rose wanted to stay, she was very happy. "Then it's settled. In the future, you will accompany me, and I will find you a husband."

Rose, "..."

No matter what she said, it still went back to marriage.

"Okay, okay, okay. As long as you take care of yourself, I'll do whatever you want."

Rose coaxed her grandmother, and treated everyone else as air.

Then she helped her grandmother back into the room and accompanied her to sleep, after which she went out quietly.

The living room was empty, and only the new employee, Mrs. Lopez, came and said, "Miss Rose, the guest room on the third floor is ready. I will take you there."

"No need. I'm more familiar with this place than you are." Rose smiled. She won't allow them to treat her like a guest.

She looked up at the second floor and went upstairs.

She did not go to the third floor but stopped on the second floor, at the bedroom that was in the corner. Mrs. Lopez turned pale when she saw this and hurriedly said, "Miss Rose, this is not your room."

Rose ignored her and pushed open the bedroom door.

Inside, Wyatt sat on the sofa while Naomi straddled his lap. Her nightdress was half down, revealing her snow-white back.

It was really not suitable for children...
