C4 Her Precious Little Angel

A villa in the Southern Prefecture of City J.

Bright changed his clothes and stepped out of his room. His assistant, Daniel Bailey, had been outside waiting for his orders. He lowered his head respectfully, and kept silent.

He sat at the dining table, enjoying the appetizing food prepared for him. Every movement he made was pleasing to the eye.

However, even if he was enjoying the food, he just sat there with no expression on his face. Even the air around him feels suffocating and eerily quiet.

"Daniel, it's been a few months already, and you can't even find one woman. Is this the extent of your ability? I find it lacking." Bright's fingers rubbed the edge of his cup.

Bright’s voice was like hearing the devil talk in Daniel’s ears, his heart was trembling with fear.

"President, that woman used a fake identity to work in the hotel for a while. I heard she’s a foreigner so she’s always been a loner, and she also tampered with the surveillance footage that night. So...” Daniel didn’t dare continue his reports about that woman, and silently waited for Bright to reprimand him.

Bright just listened and didn’t comment on his report. There were no expressions on his face, he just simply drank his milk.

That day, after his bath, he felt refreshed. When he got out of the bath, the girl who he ravished at night and the cheque, had disappeared.

However, the dark red marks on the white sheet were striking, telling him that what happened wasn't a dream.

Her beauty and her seductiveness made him unable to resist her charm. He was so enticed, and only wanted to keep ravishing her without any sleep or rest. He couldn’t help but miss the beauty of that night.

The lights were dim, so he only vaguely remembered her alluring and beautiful face.

Bright shook his head out of that memory. What’s wrong with him?

He actually had a crush on some unfamiliar woman, and it was the same woman who dared to plot against him! He shouldn’t dare to have this thoughts.

He then tugged his thin lips and gave a self-deprecating smile.

That woman dared to plot against him, so she should pay the price.

Bright narrowed his eyes, looking sinister and malicious. It felt like his hostility against that woman was getting stronger and stronger.

Even Daniel felt like he was about to faint with such an intense atmosphere surrounding his boss.

"President, if I don't find this woman for you, I will go to Africa voluntarily." Daniel Bailey clenched his fists, looking like he would not give up until he achieved his goal.

How could one woman make things difficult for him? This was a mockery of his outstanding abilities.

Bright heard this and looked at Daniel with his deep and cold gaze.

His gaze felt like a cold blade that had cut him down into thousands of pieces.

Bright then placed the cup down and said, “No need.”

Daniel thought he heard wrong, so he suddenly raised his head and stared at his mighty boss. Was he dreaming or perhaps his boss thought he’s already useless?

"President, please give me another chance. I will accept any punishment you see fit if I can’t complete this mission.” Daniel’s answer was firm.

Bright glared at him, “I said no. Go out and prepare, we’ll leave for the company in five minutes.”

Only after that, Daniel recovered his senses and sighed out of relief.

There was actually another reason why he was looking for that woman. He needed an obedient wife now.

He figured that since she needed money, he would give her money to do this role. A contract marriage with benefits was the solution, and when the time was right, separation would be easy.

Time flew by and five years had passed.

City J's Four Seasons Hotel.

Rose got up at seven and got ready for work. She finally checked the information and documents she needed for today.

At this moment, her phone rang. Rose picked up the video call and a beautiful doll-like person appeared on the screen. She had snow white skin and clear baby muscles. Her thick and curly eyelashes fluttered and her plump lips were as beautiful as a doll.

"Good morning, Mommy.” The little girl waved at Rose and greeted her with a sweet smile.

"Good morning, Baby. Mommy is leaving in ten minutes, so be good, and eat and sleep well. I’ll pick you up as soon as I come back. Listen to Auntie Evelyn okay? Don’t make things difficult for her.” Rose gently reminded her.

Since she was on a business trip, she asked her good friend, Evelyn, to take care of her daughter. Coincidentally, she was also the teacher in her daughter's kindergarten, so it’s very convenient to pick her up.

"Don’t worry about earning money, Mommy. I’ll be obedient so you don’t have to worry about me. Don’t work too hard Mommy, you might get hurt.” The five year old child crossed her arms and said, “I miss you everyday, Mommy.”

"Mommy misses you too sweetie.” Rose’s heart warmed and her eyes were teary.

After being chased out of the Linder family by her parents five years ago, she brought her daughter back to City Y. Both of them relied on each other and started a new life.

Her daughter was very understanding and knew her surroundings very well. She already knew that her mommy has to work very hard for the both of them, so she rarely cries. Instead, she gave her support and encouragement everyday, which made Rose’s heart ache.

She never regretted giving birth to her. At least, she still had a family left when her so-called family abandoned her years ago. Her daughter was her little angel.

At 8:20 PM, Rose left the hotel and went to the Distance Group with her assistant.

The Brilliant Group where she worked, was the largest design and creative company in City Y. Her workplace is very competitive.

Rose never slacked off during the years she worked in the Brilliant Group. She put in more effort than the others. In addition to her knowledge and talent, she was recognized as the most outstanding designer for three consecutive years, earning her a promotion and a raise in salary.

This year, the biggest project was the theater that the Distance Group in City J invested in and built in City J. Of course, the Brilliant Group would never miss this opportunity to cooperate with the Distance Group.

Rose was personally selected to be the main designer of this project by the director of design, Waylon Diaz. This was a huge amount of trust and encouragement, so naturally, some people were envious of her.

This time, Waylon should have gone to City J with her to talk about the cooperation. However, before he left, he got into a car accident and was rushed to the hospital. Therefore, Rose had no choice but to bring an assistant with her. It was time to prove her ability, she would not fail Mr. Diaz’s expectations of her.

Standing in front of the impressive office building of Distance Group, Rose’s mood was complicated. She had been hiding for five years, but now she had to personally deliver herself to him.

She hoped that she didn’t meet Bright Lee. After all, this project was handled by the Deputy Director, Theodore Daughtler.

Later, she heard that Bright had gone to America and wouldn’t return until a few days later, so this news was simply too good.

On the third day, the reception assistant of Distance Group brought Rose and her assistant to the upper floors. Once the elevator door opened, she stepped out.

She walked all the way to the meeting room, but unexpectedly met Bright who was walking towards her. This made Rose almost break her foot on the spot.

This was simply like a bolt out of the blue!

Bright walked at the front, like a star that was the center of attraction.

The eyes under his thick brows were as deep as an abyss, and they were ink-black in color. Just a single glance felt like falling into a trap.

He was at least 1.85 meters tall. A luxury black suit with a classic white shirt revealed his perfect figure. As he walked, he had the demeanor of a noble, and his long legs were straight as he walked.

Rose and her assistant followed the reception assistant of Distance Group and moved aside to make way.

"Hello, Mr. Lee."

Bright only nodded his head lightly and continued walking.

Rose was so nervous that she leaned against the wall when he passed by. She didn’t even dare to breathe. She just lowered her head, afraid that Bright would recognize her right away.

Fortunately, he didn’t notice her and continued on his way.

Rose glanced at his tall straight back out of the corner of her eye and secretly heaved a sigh of relief. She then continued to follow the reception assistant.

"Stop." After taking two steps, a familiar voice came from behind.

His voice was still as pleasant as it had been five years ago.

However, that voice made Rose’s heart tremble and her hands were covered in sweat.
