C6 She Had Gotten Herself into Trouble

Rose and Theodore had talked about their work for three days and she performed well, which impressed Theodore.

"Ms. Linder is indeed worthy of being Mr Diaz's personal chief designer. She is young and promising." Theodore looked outstanding on the outside, and his work ability was also outstanding. "I'll see you in City Y then."

"President Daughtler, thank you for your guidance and cooperation." Rose politely shook hands with him.

"Ms. Linder, it seems that you haven't explored City J much in the past three days, right? I'll be attending a cocktail party tonight, and I seem to be lacking a female companion. Why don't you join me tonight Ms. Linder, and give me a chance to show you my hospitality." Theodore's smile was enchanting, and his eyes were filled with sincerity.

Rose hesitated at first, but then she nodded in agreement. "Then I'll have to trouble you, President Daughtler."

She wasn't a person who liked to join parties and socialize. However, if she rejected Theodore's invitation as soon as they had agreed on this collaboration, she suspected that they wouldn't want to continue collaborating anymore, so she could only agree.

"Ms. Linder is too polite, it’s my honor." Theodore was graceful, he raised his hand and looked at the watch on his wrist. "There’s still three hours before the cocktail party. Why don't we go and pick a dress for you first and then do makeup?"

"Then I will gladly accept it." Rose smiled lightly. Her face was gentle and relaxed, making people feel very comfortable.

After her makeover, she walked to the venue where the party would be held at seven o'clock - City J Intercontinental Garden Hotel.

Distance Group had a great reputation outside. Theodore, as the Vice President, attracted everyone to greet and chat with him when he arrived. Rose, who accompanied him, also made the famous people of City J curious who she was.

Rose never liked this kind of party where influential people clung to her. She stood quietly beside Theodore and smiled sweetly. She just needed to be a vase.

After Theodore dealt with some of the guests, he took her to the buffet table and picked up a white round plate with gold and porcelain lining. "You're not used to it?"

Rose, who was far away from the crowd, also felt relaxed. "It's alright."

"Are you hungry? Let's eat something first." Theodore picked up a small triangular mousse cake that has a bright red cherry on top of it. He said thoughtfully, "Do you like this?"

"Thank you for the offer President Daughtler, I can do it myself." Rose was a little 'flattered,' so she wanted to take the round plate.

"Ms. Linder, why don't I call you Rose? You can call me Theodore." The corner of Theodore’s lips curled up, and his peach blossom eyes lit up.

Rose just nodded, there was no way she could refuse.

"Just give me a chance to serve a beauty such as yourself." Theodore also picked up different fruits before passing the round plate to Rose.

"Thank you." Rose took it and looked up to see him take a glass of red wine. He also passed a golden glass of wine to her.

While they were chatting, there was a commotion at the door. It seems that Bright Lee has arrived at the party.

He was wearing a classic and concise white shirt and a black suit. His body was tall and straight. The color of the wine red tie and the silk cloth on his left chest complemented each other. It made his charming handsome face look profound.

The man's eyes were slightly raised. His deep eyes were dark and sharp. They were flat like mirrors, but deep like the sea.

Rose was a few meters away from him but she still couldn’t ignore the pressure he gave off. She frowned slightly and only wanted to avoid him as much as possible.

However, Theodore’s voice rang in her ears in a lazy way. "He’s s the CEO of Distance Group, Mr. Bright Lee. I’ll introduce you to him later."

"No... No need." Rose tried her best to lower her eyelashes as naturally as possible to hide the panic in her heart.

"Are you afraid of him?" Theodore raised his eyebrows slightly.

Rose smiled and shook her head. She took a bite of the mousse cake and said slowly, "I already saw Mr. Lee earlier this morning."

"Oh... In fact, he was just a paper tiger. All day long he wore an icy face and pretended to be cold, and he thought he was very handsome. In fact, he didn’t know that there were more people in the company who had a crush on me than him." Theodore was quite proud of himself.

As he spoke, Bright was already holding a tall glass of wine, and slowly walked over to them. His posture was perfect and elegant.

Rose watched him walk over step by step, her pupils slightly dilated, and her heart was filled with resistance.

"Ms. Linder, we meet again." Bright’s voice was pleasant to hear. It was magnetic and steady.

"Hello, Mr. Lee."

How old was he?

Even if Rose controlled her gaze, she could feel that he was studying her, which made her feel very uncomfortable.

"President Daughtler, why don't you guys chat? I'll go out and take a rest first." When he arrived , the air was suffocating.

Just then, her phone rang. The only one who called her at this time was her precious daughter.

The call came at the right time. It immediately made Rose heave a sigh of relief, "Sorry, I need to answer the call first."

"Rose, wait..." Theodore stopped her. "You have a little bit of mousse on the corner of your mouth."

He picked up a tissue and wanted to wipe it off for her, but Rose reached out and took it. "No need to trouble you. I will do it myself."

Theodore loosened his hand and Rose quickly wiped off the mousse. She nodded with a smile and turned around to leave.

Today, Rose wore a skin-toned formal dress decorated with shiny golden lines. The soft fabric was like a cloud of water. Under the warm light, she was as elegant and refined as a fairy.

Theodore, on the other hand, was wearing a white suit. He was elegant and confident, inexplicably matching Rose’s attire.

"You brought her to this cocktail party... to chase after her?" Bright slowly withdrew his gaze from Rose’s beautiful figure and looked at Theodore’s face.

"A fair lady, a gentleman is easy to catch. You know that my family's old man has been urging me to get a girlfriend and get married, so I thought why not give it a try." Theodore took a sip of red wine and revealed a helpless expression.

He asked him, "Are you not afraid that she has a boyfriend or is already married?" Bright put one hand elegantly in his pocket and shook the red wine in his hand with the other.

"She’s young and has a strong working heart. She definitely doesn’t have a boyfriend or is married." Theodore believed that his instinct was right. "A woman with a boyfriend or husband wouldn’t work so hard. Plus, she never dated in all these years. Isn't it obvious that she's still single?"

"Well, I wish you good luck then." Bright reached out and patted him on the shoulder. He smiled, but there was a hint of playfulness in his eyes.

"Cheers!" Theodore and Bright clinked their glasses.

Bright drank the red wine that was half a finger tall, put down the goblet, and turned around to leave.

He pulled his thin lips as he walked. He had underestimated the charm of Mrs. Lee, who had no real name and reputation, and had attracted Theodore.

She was single?

That was after the divorce three months later.

Before that, she still was Bright’s legal wife.

She hinted to Theodore that she was alone. Had she already considered finding a good family after their divorce?

This woman appeared innocent and harmless. Was she playing cat-and-mouse in her bones?

Should her husband do his duty to remind her of her married identity...
