C1 He Had to Turn the Situation Around at the Beginning

At the Psionic Academy in Star Glory City, on the eastern frontier of the Noah Empire, Lin Luo stood in the academy's plaza, his gaze following the bustling crowd. A sense of unease gripped him, tinged with a hint of panic.

He could vividly recall how, just a short while ago, he was on the subway, donned in an eccentric costume, en route to a cosplay gathering.

It's a common fantasy among young men to imagine themselves as the protagonists of their own stories, and Lin Luo was no exception. With a keen interest in cosplay and a wealth of experience under his belt, he never missed such events. This time, he had chosen to embody his favorite anime character, Senju Hashirama, the ninja from "Naruto."

But then, an unpleasant incident occurred—he got into a fight with a man towering over two meters tall. The tension was palpable, and in a desperate move, Lin Luo resorted to using Wood Style. However, in a clash between masters, victory can hinge on a mere second. Before he could complete his move, a fist as large as a sandbag slammed into him. A loud thud, and then darkness.

When he came to, he found himself here.

Lin Luo turned to gaze at the skyscraping structure behind him, swallowing hard. He made a silent vow—he had never laid eyes on a building of such staggering height.

This was no dream.

But what was this place?

He had no idea, and he was too afraid to ask.

His heart raced. "Since I've ended up here, I need to stay calm. There's nothing left that can intimidate me," he reassured himself. Having once aspired to be a ninja, Lin Luo resolved to take his first step with courage.

Out of the blue, a hand clapped onto his shoulder, the force nearly sending him tumbling to his knees.

He spun around to confront a burly figure looming over him.

Lin Luo's pupils contracted, and his instinct was to flee. The memory of being assaulted on the subway had left a deep scar on his psyche.

"President, there you are," the towering man announced.

Confusion clouded Lin Luo's face. "President? What president? And who might you be?"

He instantly regretted his words. He should have kept quiet. Raising suspicion now could spell trouble.

"President, it's me, Su Xiaoyu. Are you unwell again?" Su Xiaoyu asked, her expression turning peculiar as she produced a bottle of medicine from her pocket and offered it to Lin Luo. "Here's your medicine."

The man before him actually believed he was ill.

Lin Luo couldn't help but inwardly curse: You're the sick one, your whole family is sick.

He wanted to argue, but the mention of Su Xiaoyu's name nearly made him burst into laughter.

This towering, muscular giant was actually named Su Xiaoyu.

He wondered what Su Xiaoyu's parents were thinking.

Accepting the medicine from Su Xiaoyu with a light cough, Lin Luo noted how easily Su Xiaoyu could be duped.

Since Su Xiaoyu had identified him as the president, he needed to act the part. Lin Luo aimed to extract some useful information from him and asked, "Do you know what our next move is?"

Su Xiaoyu grew more puzzled. Hadn't the club's tasks been clearly outlined already?

But then he remembered the President had been unwell, acting oddly, and often speaking in ways that were hard to follow.

"President, our task today is to recruit two new members," Su Xiaoyu informed him.

Lin Luo probed further, "Do you know who I am?"

Su Xiaoyu let out a weary sigh, realizing the President's condition was worsening. "You're a second-year student in the Logistics Department at the Psionic Academy of Star Glory City, destined to be a Psionic Warrior."

Lin Luo felt a surge of triumph.

Su Xiaoyu was indeed naive and straightforward. Whatever Lin Luo asked, Su Xiaoyu answered truthfully.

Little did he know that in Su Xiaoyu's eyes, Lin Luo's condition was grave.

With Su Xiaoyu's help, Lin Luo finally unraveled the three ultimate questions that had been troubling him:

Who was he?

Where was he?

What did he want to do?

In this world, Lin Luo had always aspired to be the mightiest Psionic Warrior.

To achieve that, he needed to unlock his Spiritual Sea and harness Spiritual Energy.

Lin Luo had succeeded in opening his Spiritual Sea, but his Spiritual Energy Growth Value was a mere 3.

Typically, a growth value below 5 was deemed subpar, 6 to 7 was average, and 8 to 9 indicated a prodigy.

Lin Luo's growth value set a record low at the Psionic Academy of Star Glory City, landing him directly in the Logistics Department.

The Logistics Department was essentially the Trash Department.

Lin Luo propped his chin with his right hand, lost in thought.

He was a born loser, a common fate for those who traversed time and space.

That's the narrative spun in online novels, where the protagonist invariably embarks on a journey to turn the tide.

But what about his own abilities?

Without any skills, how was he supposed to change his fortunes?

Su Xiaoyu, sitting next to Lin Luo, noticed his daydreaming and nudged him, "President, shouldn't we be recruiting members? The student council has warned us. If we don't fill our ranks by tomorrow, the Dawn Society will be dissolved."

Currently, the Dawn Society had a mere three members.

At the Psionic Academy of Star Glory City, a minimum of five members was needed to form an official club.

Su Xiaoyu was well aware that finding two more members by tomorrow was a pipe dream.

Given Lin Luo's reputation at the academy, no one would want to join the Dawn Society.

Their only hope was to somehow coax two newcomers into signing up.

Yet, they hadn't anticipated that these fresh faces wouldn't be as gullible as they'd hoped.

Lin Luo gestured dismissively, "We still have a whole day, right? No need to rush. Earlier, you mentioned I've been saying things people can't understand. What exactly did I say?"

Su Xiaoyu answered, "You talked about the Naruto system and Wood Style."

"A system?" Lin Luo echoed, puzzled.
