C25 I'm Sorry but I Have to Win This Battle
Lin Luo quickly found his next opponent in the arena. The matchmaking was instantaneous; he didn't have to wait even a second longer than necessary.
Upon entering the arena, Lin Luo was taken aback by the bustling crowd in the spectator stands. "Why are there so many people?" he wondered. "Where did they all come from?" And the crowd kept growing, on the verge of filling the entire arena.
"Could my opponent be someone famous?" Lin Luo pondered, feeling bewildered. As someone at the Rookie Level, he couldn't imagine these people were here to see him.
Lin Luo was certain his opponent must be formidable. These spectators had to be here for them. A twinge of envy struck him as he thought of his opponent's popularity.
Finally, his opponent made an entrance. ID: Wild Beast, Record: 122 losses, 80 wins, 34 draws. His win rate was less than half. Clearly, Wild Beast was struggling at the Rookie Level just like Lin Luo.
Wild Beast was equally startled by the packed stands as he stepped into the arena. He had paid for some spectators, but this turnout was beyond his expectations. His family had money, but not enough to squander like this. "Did my opponent also pay for a crowd?" he wondered.
Checking the stats for Fearless Expert, Wild Beast saw a record of 249 losses, 2 wins, and no draws. His opponent's record was even worse than his own. Normally, no one would bother watching a match like this.
In that moment, Wild Beast thought he understood the situation. His opponent must be wealthier than him. But that suited him just fine. Wild Beast was secretly thrilled. He was a changed man from his earlier days; he had paid for an audience to witness his ascent. And now, with his opponent having brought in even more people, the timing couldn't be better.
The audience looked on in confusion. What was the deal with these two? They stood in the arena unarmed, mimicking the moves of more skilled fighters, yet they were both novices.
Neither Lin Luo nor Wild Beast had chosen a profession. As the battle commenced, Wild Beast hesitated to attack Lin Luo, puzzled. He had foregone selecting a profession to create a certain impression, but he hadn't anticipated his opponent doing the same.
Nevertheless, he was determined to win this fight.
To show his appreciation for Lin Luo, Wild Beast saluted him. "Brother Fearless, you're a good man, but I'm sorry, this fight is mine to win..."
Lin Luo was completely baffled.
Why was this man suddenly thanking him?
The gesture repulsed Lin Luo.
His face contorted slightly, and he nearly retched.
He was ready to throw a punch.
Chakura surged within him, and in an instant, Lin Luo vanished from his spot, reappearing before Wild Beast with a ferocious punch.
The force of the blow sent Wild Beast stumbling backward.
Wild Beast steadied himself, arms crossed over his chest, unfazed by Lin Luo's abrupt strike.
Then, with a swift motion, he lunged forward, delivering a powerful kick to Lin Luo's chest.
Lin Luo met the challenge head-on, his own leg flying out in response.
The sounds of their blows echoed one after another.
Their exchange turned into a wild flurry of attacks.
Engaged in a heated battle, the two combatants were oblivious to the growing discomfort among many spectators in the stands.
