C29 The Club War That Everyone Was Looking Forward to

Two Goddesses issued a challenge to the same person simultaneously—a first in the history of the War Net. Fearless Expert was the first to receive such an honor. Yet, when everyone braced for an epic showdown, he unexpectedly logged off, seemingly snubbing both Goddesses.

Lin Luo, however, was oblivious to the online commotion. He never made a habit of reading comments on the War Net, and was even unaware of its existence.

As time swiftly moved on, Lin Luo awoke at the crack of dawn the following day, jolted from his dreams by the system's alert.

[Side Mission Activated: The Dawn Society's inaugural battle. Host, lead your team to victory in their first club battle.]

[Victory grants 500 reward points; defeat deducts 500 reward points.]

[Prepare for battle, the fight is imminent.]

Lin Luo was dumbfounded by the system's directive. A loss would mean forfeiting all his hard-earned reward points. After laboring to win two battles on the War Net, he had amassed a mere 500 points. Losing them was not an option.

Instantly invigorated, Lin Luo shook off any remnants of sleep. He roused Su Xiaoyu and messaged Fu Xinyi. Confident that Bale and Elsa would arrive on time, his only concern was that Su Xiaoyu and Fu Xinyi might be tardy. Without a full team, their chances of winning were slim.

To ensure success, Lin Luo invested 50 reward points in a D-class Ninjutsu: Water Style. Kirigakure no Jutsu. This technique, which allowed him to become a lethal force within a veil of thick fog, was perfectly suited to his abilities.

At the Academy Team's training grounds, the stage was set for the clash between the Dawn Society and the Thorns Club. The teams had yet to arrive, but the stands were already teeming with eager spectators. The academy's entire student body was abuzz with anticipation, primarily because the Dawn Society's infamous trio had secured three spots on the academy's team roster.

Many were skeptical and eager to stir up trouble.

They were determined to escalate the situation if the Dawn Society lost the club battle, vowing to ensure that the Dawn Trio would never remain on the Academy Team's candidate list.

To that end, some wealthy students even paid Star Glory City media reporters to live broadcast the entire event.

On camera, a reporter from Star Glory City, microphone in hand, announced with gusto,

"Viewers at home, welcome to the Psionic Academy of Star Glory City's training ground for the Academy Team.

Fifteen years ago, Captain Reira led a team of young hopefuls from this very spot to the Imperial Academy Competition, where they made it to the top sixteen and forged a legacy.

Today, this training ground reopens for a pivotal club battle between the Dawn Society and the Thorns. The outcome will not only determine this year's Academy Team roster but also if the academy can reclaim its former luster.

As we can see, the academy's students are buzzing with excitement, eagerly awaiting the showdown."

The camera then panned to reveal a packed training ground, with more students continuing to arrive, crowding around the perimeter.

"I'm betting the Dawn Society doesn't stand a chance!"

"Why isn't the Goddess Selina fighting? I'm here for her."

"Bro, does the Goddess even need to step in to take down the Dawn Society? Any society member could beat them."

"Don't be too confident. The Dawn Society's got Bale and Elsa. The growth of these two rookies' Spiritual Energy has even outpaced the Goddess Selina."

"Relax, man. Bale and Elsa are just newbies. Plus, they're saddled with three incredibly weak teammates. How could they possibly win?"

Jeers and taunts like these echoed throughout the training ground.

But there was no stopping it.

The infamy of the Dawn Society's three underdogs had permeated the academy, becoming common knowledge even among the newest recruits.
