C33 The First Heavy Armor in the Academy

Gu Hongyu stepped off the stage, his eyes void of any emotion. "You're really useless. You can't even beat a second-grade girl," Gu Ritian seethed with fury. He had envisioned an unblemished record in the competition, a clean sweep with no defeats. The thought that they might lose to the insignificant Dawn Society was so unacceptable that he felt it would be better to die than face such humiliation. Yet, the shock came swiftly—they had lost the very first match, and Gu Hongyu had been easily dispatched like an amateur.

Gu Ritian gave Gu Hongyu a frosty glance. He had a better contender in mind but had caved to Gu Hongyu's persistent begging. Considering their kinship, he had allowed Gu Hongyu to compete first, hoping it would catch Captain Reira's attention and secure a spot for him on the Academy Team. Gu Hongyu's dismal showing, however, was a bitter disappointment.

With a dark scowl, Gu Ritian wasted no time in deploying the next competitor—Harry Barry. A fourth-grader, she was one of the academy's three elite students and its premier heavy armor. The sight of Harry Barry ascending the stage made the other students gulp in apprehension. Among the student elite, two were female, and while Harry Barry shared fame with Selina, she lacked Selina's popularity. Not that Harry Barry wasn't attractive; she was undeniably beautiful. But her formidable physique, towering over two meters with muscles rippling across her frame, her arms as thick as an average person's thighs, struck fear into many. To the academy students, Harry Barry was a colossus, a living, breathing T-Rex, capable of slaying mutant beasts with her bare hands.

Her role as a heavy armor only added to her intimidating presence, deterring anyone from crossing her. Even Lee Yuan, another of the academy's top three experts, would steer clear of her. Now, with Harry Barry's determined eyes surveying the field, a palpable pressure built up, sweeping a hush over the training grounds. No student dared to break the silence.

Indeed, Harry Barry was the epitome of a heavy armor, the most steadfast bulwark of the team, ready to absorb any onslaught for her comrades.

The Dawn Society had finally chosen their combatants for the upcoming battle.

Su Xiaoyu.

Shield in his left hand, longsword in his right, he entered the arena with a bewildered look on his face.

It was his first time in such an environment, his legs felt weak, and his whole body was quivering ever so slightly.

There was another reason, of course.

He had overexerted himself in the gravity room and hadn't fully recovered.

The students on stage couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Su Xiaoyu.

He seemed so petrified before the fight had even started. How could he possibly stand a chance? He might as well concede defeat.

They mistook his shaky legs for sheer terror.

Yet, unusually, no one ridiculed him.

Despite being considered a disgrace to the Warrior Faculty, Su Xiaoyu was facing Harry Barry this time. The fact that he had the courage to step into the ring was commendable in itself.

Many students in the audience knew that if they were in his shoes, they probably wouldn't fare any better than Su Xiaoyu.

Just then, the Dawn Society's cheers erupted from the arena, led by Lin Luo and Fu Xinyi.

"Xiaoyu, give it your all! You're the best, don't be scared."

"Yes! Don't be afraid. Take her down. You've got this battle in the bag."

They rooted for Su Xiaoyu with fervent support.

On the sidelines, Bale and Elsa were at a loss for words.

Lin Luo's intention for sending Su Xiaoyu into the fray was crystal clear.

He was essentially throwing him into the deep end to withstand the onslaught.

The spectators in the stands were left speechless and cringing.

Could Su Xiaoyu possibly emerge victorious in this battle?

Their overt mockery was undoubtedly heaping more pressure on Su Xiaoyu.
