C3 The CEO's condition

Early in the morning, Nora went to Lucy's house. Looking for a way to persuade her to meet with Williams.

“ Wake up, Lucy,” Nora said.

" Huh! When did you get here? Lucy asked, rubbing her face.

" Just now.”

" Why don't you get dressed and let's go somewhere nice to spend some time together, but first we are going shopping.” Nora muttered, smiling.

" Okay, but hope I'm not going on a blind date again.” Narrowing her eyes and squinting.

“ No.. not at all." She stammered in a shaky voice, shaking her head.

They both went to a boutique, Nora picked a dress for Lucy and also did her makeup. There were at a restaurant

“ Nora, tell me what your plans are because it's only on blind date that I get pampered like this.” She said with a dazed look

Nora checked her wrist watch, “ okay, Williams will be here in three minutes, he asked me to bring you, and I know if I tell you, you will not agree to come so that is why I did what I did. Please try to understand Lucy." Nora said in a pleading tone, rubbing her palm together.

" What? Williams?” She stammered, with her mouth falling open, touching her throat.

“ And he already knows that you are the fake Nora, so you owe him an apology, just apologize and leave.” She said and left her there.

Lucy was so restless, scrunching herself up in a chair. She was about to run when she saw Williams at the entrance coming in.

“ Hello, fake Nora, what's your name?" Williams said, staring directly into her eyes.

“ lu….. Lisa " she stammered avoiding eye contact with him. She changed her name to Lisa.

“ Nora, you are a bastard, I'm good to deal with you for doing this to me.” She muttered to herself.

" Nora told me she hired you from an agency to go on a blind date with me right?” he asked.

“ Yeah, I'm sorry, I don't mean to deceive you." She was pleased. Clasping her hands together in her lap.

“ Alright, it's fine I have forgiven you but on one condition you will have to sign a contract marriage with me, don't worry I will pay one million dollars for you to pretend to be my wife and meet my grandfather. The contract is only for six months.”

" What? Get married to you, not I'm not doing that, I don't even know you.” She said, crossing her hands and legs.

" You have no choice, you better think fast and sign the contract" he stuttered, raising his shoulders.

“ Omg! the money is huge, I really need money now, so what do I do now, I should just sign the contract since it is only for six months” she murmured to herself, rubbing the back of her neck.

“ Okay, I will sign the contract."

“ Sign here, I will contact you when we are going to meet next time." Williams responded.

As they were both outside the restaurant waiting for their ride.

She saw one of her college friends Ethan who she had a crush on since they were in college, but she got rejected by him. And he had already seen her so she couldn't escape.

“ Who is he? Is he your boyfriend? Are you both dating? He asked. Standing still in an incredulous stare.

“Back then in college, Ethan and Lucy were close friends, they were so fond of each other, then Lucy began to like him. She thought they would end up dating due to their friendship but he never asked her out. So she decided to ask him to be her boyfriend but he rejected her twice. Instead he ended up dating one of his female friends whom he liked. That left Lucy's heart broken but she still liked him. She thought he never liked her.”

So when he saw her with Williams, he felt his stomach hardening, clenching his teeth in jealousy.

“ No…. No…. He's not my boyfriend, we are not dating, he's my boss at work”. She stammered, hiding her face in embarrassment.

“Okay.” he nodded, laughing an ugly laugh.

So he left them but still suspicious about the man that was with her, he decided to do a background check on him.

Lucy was at work, there were four in the food department, Elisabeth, the manager, Martin, Mira and Lucy.

“ how is your research going" Elizabeth asked

“ Good, I'm still on it.” She replied nodding her head

“ Lucy, do you know when you work, you work so hard, I wish I could be like you.” Mira muttered as her voice waver

“ Uhhhh… really, I don't know that I work so hard like that. Don't worry I can help you to be like me. Lucy stuttered rubbing her shoulder.

“ Guys, who would have thought we have lots in common, I mean me and the CEO.” Martin said.

“Please explain,” Elisabeth scoffed off.

“ There they go again, arguing all the time.”Lucy whispered to Mira laughing as they watched them arguing.

“Rumor has it that he was the top student in class when he was in London and also got awarded as best player in the basketball team. Also I was the top student in class when I was in Harvard, got an award as the best runner in the company sports field. Can't you see?” Martins said, blabbing and bursting out in laughter.

“ Are you nuts? How dare you compare yourself to our CEO, you ugly man. You better focus on those invoices.” Elisabeth shouted.

“ I guess that's why you're still single.” He said in a mocking tone.

And Mira suddenly got a call from Ethan.

“ Ma, do you mind me going out for a minute? Bouncing from foot to foot.

“Who was that? You seemed so excited. Elisabeth asked

“ It's a fling ” she whispered to her ear.

“ But that was loud, you can go.” Elisabeth said

Lucy was shocked to see the name Ethan on her phone. “What? Ethan? Are they dating?” She questioned herself tilting her head to the side.

Lucy's eyebrows raised as she heard the word “A fling”. Out of curiosity she followed her.

They were at the cafeteria. Lucy was watching them secretly.

“ What is he doing here? He came to see her? Or is he really into her? Ohh he even brought a gift for her?.” she muttered to herself clenching her teeth, a lot of questions were going on in her mind.

As they were walking out of the cafeteria she quickly hide in order not to be caught.

“ What's wrong with me? What was I doing there in the first place? I know I have had a crush on Ethan since college, but he doesn't even notice me” she said to herself, lowering her head and biting her lips.

As Lucy was walking back to the office she saw Williams and his assistant coming out of the elevator.

“ Ohh my God, not now, what am I going to do, today is literally a bad day for me”.

She murmured to herself, turned her back and began to run, someone accidentally pushed her as she struggled not to fall. Her slippers mistakenly hit Williams because he was not far from her.

“ Who did this? Williams shouted with anger in his eyes as if he wanted to devour the person.

As Lucy looked around to see what was going on because everyone was just laughing and murmuring to themselves. She looked at Williams and saw her slippers on his hand.

“ No, this can't be happening! “She murmured to herself, grimacing. She suddenly felt a rapid heartbeat, feet shuffling.

“ Hey, you lady putting on an apron, come here.” He said.

As Lucy heard ” apron” because she was the only one wearing it there, it's her department uniform. she starts to run, as Williams saw that she was running he pursued her.

They were both running around the building like kids.

Williams caught Lucy as she was trying to enter another elevator

“ Why were you running?" Williams asked, breathing heavily.

“ Because, I'm afraid you might recognize me,” she muttered to herself.

“ I was frightened when my slippers hit your head so I don't know what to do and the way you shouted scared me. The only option I have was to run” She replied crying and covering her face with her hair.

Williams wanted to react but when he saw her crying, he became so emotional.

“Okay." Giving her back her slippers.

Before the elevator opened, his assistant was already waiting for him outside. When it finally opens, Lucy quickly runs out of the elevator to avoid having any conversation with him.

“ Please let's leave now before these social media bloggers begin to take pictures.” His assistant Henry said.

Mira came back to the office looking so moody.

“ How did it go?" Elisabeth asked Mira

“ You know, at first when I saw Ethan I fell in love with him, so I contacted him first. I even went to his restaurant to give him a gift. But he turned me down, so he came to my workplace to return the gift I gave him.” She said, lowering her head.

“Oh sorry my dear” Elisabeth stuttered rubbing her shoulder.

Lucy was really happy when she heard what Mira said. “ Oh really, I thought you guys were dating.” Lucy muttered, smiling.

“ No, we aren't." She replied

Lucy suddenly got a call from Williams.
