C4 Dinner with the grandfather

“ What do you want from me this time?"

“ let's meet at Orchid Grill Restaurant by 8pm” Williams said

" Okay” she replied.

In the evening, Lucy was at the restaurant waiting patiently for Williams. “ I don't know how I ended up getting married to someone I barely know, an arrogant boss. Well it's just a contract marriage. The only good thing is that he doesn't know I work at his company,” she murmured to herself.

Then Williams walks in, looking so gorgeous and handsome

“ Speak of the devil"

“ Hello , Lisa."

" Hi.” she replied, forcing a smile.

I still can't believe I'm answering the name Lisa. I pray he doesn't find out.

" Here is your own copy for the contract and Inside is my profile containing everything you need to know about me, memorise every detail in it.” He said, giving her the papers.

" How do I memorise everything here, it's too much, am I preparing for exams or what?” she yelled, fanning herself with her hands.

" You have to memorize them, because I don't want my grandfather to easily get suspicious about us. And I don't want that to happen, we are going to meet with my grandfather this Saturday.”

" What? This Saturday, today is Thursday already, how do I memorize them in this short period of time.” s

" And no mistake will be tolerated, I will text you the address when I get home. He said rudely and left her there.

“ You asshole? I already have a project to complete at work and now you are adding this to it. I wish I could just punch him on his face.” she said, pounding her first against the table.

Williams got home feeling so tired and stressed out .

" Grandpa, I'm back “

" Welcome back, hope you went to see my daughter in-law or are you coming back from a date with her.” He said, narrowing his eyes, squinting.

" Grandpa, I'm so tired I want to have some rest." Avoiding direct eye contact.

" Since you don't want to talk to me, when am I going to meet her”

" Don't worry you are going to meet her on Saturday, so can I go to my room now?”

“Yes, I can't wait to meet my daughter in-law, ” he said , smiling.

Lucy and Nora were at the restaurant spending some time together.

“ Lucy, I'm truly sorry for what I did last time. She pleaded.

" I don't really like what you did actually, but it's fine what friends are for.”

“How is your fake boyfriend exam going?.

“Well I'm trying my best to memorize the things he gave me, you know what this guy is literally born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he's smart, good looking, he's athletic but he lost both in a car accident.”

" Yeah, I heard about it, that's why he has no relatives in his company, the chairman Edward ( his grandfather) fired all of them to protect him.”

" Really, why."

" Rumor has it that someone was responsible for the accident that killed his parents." She said softly, moving closer

" Wow! I see, please let's go home, I'm so exhausted.” Lucy said yawning.

“ Okay, let's go." Nora muttered.

On Saturday evening, Williams went to pick Lucy up for them to meet his grandfather Edward. During their way to his grandfather's place they were both silent, no one was willing to talk. Until Williams finally breaks the silence.

“ Hope you memorize everything I gave to you." He asked

“ Yeah, you can go ahead and ask me any question." She responded with a cocky smile.

" There is no need for that, we are almost there.” he said sighing.

" Okay “

As they both come by car. Lucy was so nervous, closing her eyes and taking a calm breath.

“ Why are you nervous, I thought you said you got this.”

" Yeah, but I'm afraid, what if your grandfather found out that we are just lying to him, you said he's a very strict and mean person.”

“ He will not find out, you just have to play your part well, so that he doesn't get suspicious.”

" Alright." Nodded her head.

" Let's go,” he said, holding her hand.

“ What? Why is he holding my hands, we aren't a real couple.” Lucy murmured to herself.

Meanwhile, Edward (William's grandfather) was already waiting for their arrival, his maid had already served different kinds of dishes on the table.

“ I can still believe that my grandson has finally found a wife, I can't wait to see how beautiful she looks.” His thoughts were interrupted by the presence of Lucy and Williams.

“ Ohh my darling , you are welcome.” He said smiling and shaking her hands.

" Hello, grandpa.” She greeted him with a fake smile.

" You look so beautiful, just as I have imagined, please take your seat.”

And then Williams interrupted him, “ Grandpa, please can we at least eat first before the food gets cold.”

“ That's true, let's eat first, we will discuss later.”

But Edward could not just keep quiet during the meal.“ Do you love my grandson" he asked

My eyes widened as I heard that question. Williams could not believe his eyes, he stared at her waiting patiently to see how she would respond to him.

“Huhhh… yes of course, if not I will be getting married to him." I replied lying, forcing a smile.

" Williams can be difficult at times, he's a workaholic, please I want you to help me take care of him.”

" Don't worry grandpa, I will take care of him, I found out that his work is actually one of his priorities.” she nodded.

Williams was already bored from their conversation. So he come up with an excuse to leave.

“ Grandpa, I have an urgent meeting to attend at the office. We will start going.” turning his head to the side.

" So quick, I see you don't want me to spend time with my daughter in-law right? Oh my dear you can visit me any time.” he said giving Williams a disgusting look.

" Okay, grandpa, I will try to visit you anytime I'm free.”

As they were about to get going, Lucy's bag mistakenly fell down from her hands. She quickly tried picking up the things that fell from the bag then Williams grandfather also tried assisting her but accidentally picked up music concert tickets

“ Two weeks ago, before the blind date, Lucy did her birthday, she didn't celebrate it. So she went to Nathan's Restaurant, whom she had a crush on since college. Hoping for birthday gifts. Lucy was so disappointed when he gave her a music concert ticket of an artist that she likes. But she wanted more than that.

“ Wow! This is a concert and it's today. Miss Lisa, this was your plan right? but you couldn't tell Williams right?. Edward (William's grandfather) asked as he carefully looked at the ticket.

“ No, this can't be happening now , why did I put the ticket in my bag in the first place." She screamed to herself biting her lips.

" Hmmmmm, yes but…. “

She was interrupted by Williams grandfather, " Williams canceled that meeting you have at the office. You both are going for the music concert and I'm personally going to watch you enter before leaving.” he said.

“ What?” they both shouted. Looking at each other.
