C1 Unlucky Day

Amy Miller had no idea how many times it happened. She had been subjected to torture throughout the night. She only had a faint recollection of a man gently caressing her on the cheek. "No more. I am so tired. Please stop; I-I can't stand it any longer." Amy Miller passed out right after saying that.

A ray of morning light shone in as it was already dawn, and the sunlight passed through the curtain in the room. Amy Miller, who was sleeping soundly, was jolted awake by the heavy sound of knocking on the door. She blinked open her eyes and looked around, only to realize that she was not in her new room. Amy had no recollection of the night before. She was dumbfounded and confused.

Her wedding to Mason Gasper took place yesterday. Amy was overjoyed, and as a result, she drank a lot of wine. Her best friend Violet Edwards had toasted to her; she unhesitatingly emptied the glass of wine she offered. Afterward, she could not remember anything.

She had no choice but to hurriedly grab her ripped dress on the floor and wear it. Just putting on the torn dress gave her excruciating pain all over, especially down below. She did not have an opportunity to ponder about her aching body. Because before she could totally dress, the door was slammed open.

There were camera light flashes and a bunch of reporters who hurried in. Mason Gasper, her husband, was leading them in. Amy was unprepared for the abrupt intrusion. She instinctively reached for Mason's hand, but he flung it away.

"Amy Miller! You slut! We just got married yesterday, yet you're already cheating on me?" Mason slapped Amy so hard on her face that the sound echoed in the room.

"Ahhh! Mason!" Amy Miller was caught off guard and was pushed down to the floor. Blood was already trickling down her swollen lips, and her cheeks enlarged even more. She rubbed her already swollen face and cried out his name loudly, oblivious to what was going on around her.

"Amy, Oh, Amy. I did not realize that you were such a person! Usually, you act as if you are serious and proper. Mason spent the entire night at the wedding room waiting for you, but you are outside having a good time with another man." Violet Edwards condescendingly walked in front of her at this point, and the photo in her hand fell heavily on Amy's face. A well-calculated plot could be found through her eyes.

Amy regarded her best friend with skepticism. She subconsciously picked up the photo on the floor. Her breath halted, and her face became pale the next second upon seeing it because the man in the photo was not Mason Gasper.

Why? What's going on? What had happened? How could Mason transform into someone else? Amy's mind was a jumbled mess.

"Mason, let me explain. Listen to me, please." She jumped to her feet in a panic and tried to explain what had happened, but she couldn't. She, herself, had no idea what had occurred!

"Amy Miller, you don't need to explain anything. You cheated! Let's get a divorce!" Mason tossed the documents that he had prepared earlier at Amy. His voice was dripping with disdain.

The harshness of this sentence struck into Amy's ears like a thunderclap. It pierced through her heart like a knife. She just stood still, unsure of what to do.

"Amy, sign the divorce and let Mason go. He doesn't like you, to begin with." Violet grabbed the opportunity and feigned to be sympathetic to console her, but her tone was tinged with arrogance.

"Violet Edwards! Did you do it? Was it you who orchestrated this?" Amy had a flash of understanding and rushed over to Violet, intending to confront her.

"What are you doing? Sign the divorce agreement and get out of here quickly!" Mason intervened and stopped her from reaching Violet. Amy's body was slammed against the coffee table by a powerful force. The agonizing tears spilled out on her eyes. She was humiliated and appeared like a rag doll.

"Mason." At this time, Violet drew Mason's hand intimately and glared down at Amy with a contemptuous expression.

Amy snapped out of her daze. She now understood what was going on and realized how foolish she was all these years. Her feelings were replaced by rage as she stared at the couple with red eyes.

"I'm not signing this agreement, Mason Gasper!" She scoffed and tossed the agreement on the floor. The couple had set her up. She couldn't contain her rage.

"Humph! It's fine if you don't want to sign it. These photographs of you will be on the headlines first thing in the morning. You can choose not to sign it as if you are not afraid of your father finding out about this!" Mason seemed to have predicted her reaction and openly threatened her with this matter.

Amy paused for a moment; there was hesitation in her eyes. The Miller Group had just declared bankruptcy. Her father was so depressed that he suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. Her father could no longer be excited, according to the doctor. These photographs would put her father's life in jeopardy if they disclosed it to him. It was risky, and she could not take chances.

Mason's face drew her attention. Amy used to believe this was the most beautiful face in the world, but now she wanted to rip it apart.

"All right, I'll sign!" Amy worked hard to keep the rage in her heart at bay. She grabbed the divorce agreement and signed it without even glancing at the contents since she knew full well that it would not give her anything.

"Oh right. I remember that your stuff is still in the new house. When you have time, go get them!" Mason kindly reminded her before she departed.

"No need, just throw them all away!" Amy felt as if all the blood in her body had accumulated in her brain, and she thought her head was ready to burst.

Amy turned away from the scumbag couples after saying that. She ran out, pushing aside the reporter in front of her.
