C13 A Marriage Certificate That Couldn't be Seen

Her phone rang just as the two of them were ready to leave the Promising Group. Amy took out her phone and saw that the number was unfamiliar.

Nonetheless, she answered the phone. "Hello, Miss Miller? I am Andrew Carter. Please return as soon as possible. The driver has already arrived and is waiting for you at the entrance."

On the other side of the phone, Andrew informed Amy. He immediately hung up before Amy could ask any questions.

"What's the matter? Amy, you don't look well." Isabella noticed Amy answered the phone with a frown.

"Is it… about your father?" Isabella was also aware that Amy's father was in the hospital.

"Oh, no, Isabella. My dad is fine. I have something to do and must leave first." Amy did not have time to explain to Isabella and hurriedly rushed out of the building. There happened to be a black Bentley parked nearby. When Amy got out, the driver standing nearby opened the door for her and allowed Amy to sit in the back.

The car then drove away quickly. Isabella witnessed everything. Her mouth was agape enough to fit an egg.

She rubbed her eyes once more. She didn't make a mistake right now. Amy, her best friend, actually got into a luxury car! Especially the type of luxury, with a chauffeur opening the door for her.

Amy returned to the villa. Andrew was already at the door. When he saw her approach, he greeted her and helped her in opening the car door.

"Miss Miller, please follow me." Andrew invited Amy into the living room.

"What's the matter, Sir? Why did you rush me to come back?" Amy was confused as she asked Andrew.

"Miss Miller, please call me Andrew from now on. I asked you to quickly return here because I needed you to fill out this form. You can go and receive your marriage certificate later in the afternoon. It also requires your photograph." Amy received a marriage application form from Andrew.

This was too fast. She only stayed at the villa for a day, and now she's getting married? She was still a little uneasy about it.

"Miss Miller, this is just a formality. You have already signed the contract anyway, and this is just a form to obtain a marriage certificate. It was all stated in the contract. And besides, the sooner you get married, the sooner you'll be able to obtain your freedom after two years." Andrew gently explained to Amy.

Yes, that's true. If she married early, then she would be free early. Why hadn't she thought of that? Amy thanked Andrew and promptly signed her name.

She shifted her gaze to the male side. It was still empty. Who cares, eh? It didn't matter what kind of person he was, as he helped her pay bills to save her father.

Andrew was relieved to see that Amy had already signed, so he stored it away with satisfaction. He had accomplished the duty assigned to him by the young master.

Amy hadn't eaten much in the morning because she had been too busy. She was starving. She hurried back because of Andrew's call and didn't have lunch after the interview.

"S-si-Andrew, I was wondering whether there was any lunch here?" Amy had planned to eat outside with Isabella. But, she hurried back and hadn't eaten yet.

"Of course, there is." Andrew glanced at Amy. There was enough food to eat in such a large villa.

Amy slept in her room in the afternoon. When she awoke, there was something on her bedside table.

Amy picked it up. It turned out to be her divorce certificate! Amy felt sour as she gripped the dark red book in her hands.

Amy headed downstairs with the divorce certificate. She searched for Andrew.

"Andrew, why is this thing in my room?" Amy asked him.

"Yes, that divorce certificate? I conveniently got it for you when I went out. The marriage certificate was also completed. You are now the mistress of this place, Young Madam. Congratulations." Andrew gently bowed to Amy.

Although Mason had been callous to her, after all, it had been more than three years. Amy still felt a stab of anguish in her chest.

"Oh, right. Young Madam, your father's condition has been stabilized. He is presently waiting for his heart. He will recover soon once a suitable heart is available." Andrew noticed Amy's saddened expression and realized she might not have accepted this situation.

He considered saying something that would make her happy and distract her attention.

Sure enough, Amy's mood significantly improved when she learned that her father's illness was no longer threatening. The grief caused by the divorce was likewise swept away.

"What about my marriage certificate?" Amy was desperate to see her marriage certificate. She also wanted to see the appearance of her husband. After all, he would be sleeping in the same bed with her for the next two years.

"Young Madam, did you forget about the contract's terms?" Andrew immediately stopped Amy's curiosity when he learned she wanted to view the marriage certificate!
