C7 It's Time to Pay the Medical Fees

Andrew Carter acted courteously, but he did not reveal how much of a negative opinion he had for Amy.

Amy was already terrified and still coping with all the misfortunes happening to her. Despite having a strong personality and heart, she's been seriously traumatized by these events from yesterday to today. She's wary of this stranger.

"What do you want to talk about?" Amy Miller asked cautiously.

"Miss Miller, do you need money right now? For your father's urgent surgery? The man you love also abandons you for another woman, right? Are you letting him be happy?" As if he were counting riches, Andrew recounted to Amy what had happened to her during the previous two days.

"What is it to you? Are you here to mock me?" Amy shifted her gaze to this man. She truly wanted to solve all of these problems.

"I'm not here to judge you. I'm here to assist you. Miss Miller, I believe we can work together. These problems can be resolved if you marry my young master." Andrew remained composed as he spoke slowly.

Amy averted her gaze when she heard this. It sounds funny; it must be a joke. She just got divorced yesterday. Now, someone has arrived straight away to propose marriage. She had no idea who he was or why he was attracted to a miserable person like her. Maybe he didn't have any other choice?

"Was there something wrong with your young master's legs or hands?" Amy asked.

"No, the legs and hands of my young master are in good condition." Andrew hurriedly replied.

"Is it possible that he has a mental issue? Is he a blind man?" Amy continued to ask.

"No, no, not at all. My young master is quite intelligent and has excellent eyesight. But why are you inquiring about this, Miss Miller?" Andrew thought that Amy was not only sloppy but also excessively long-winded. She should have consented right away as someone was willing to pay for her father's treatment. Why was she asking so much?

For a brief while, Andrew wept for his young master in his heart. What sort of woman did his young master find?

"With my current misfortunes, why would someone marry me when he has a healthy and functional body? Most importantly, he is neither foolish nor blind. What good points do I have, anyway? Nevermind. You should go back and inform your young master that I, Amy Miller, do not intend to marry for the time being." Amy gave Andrew a nod after she finished speaking. She then walked away.

Andrew refused to leave as he watched her head back towards her father's ward. The young master had ordered him to look after her, but he wasn't in a rush. There was nothing money couldn't handle in this world. He has this confidence, especially now that Amy badly needs a huge amount of money.

When Amy entered the ward, David Miller was already stable. The doctors had already left, and only a nurse was there to watch David.

"Miss Miller, you are here! Just now, I was really nervous." The nurse had just gone out to get David some breakfast. When she returned, there were a lot of people in the ward. She panicked to the point where she dropped the food she was holding on the floor. Even if she was a professional, it was so tense earlier and it happened so suddenly.

"Yes, I happened to see it just now. It was rather frightening." Amy walked to her father's side.

At this point, David's complexion was pale. There was no sign of blood on his face. His entire body was filled with tubes.

He laid motionless in his hospital bed, almost as if he were dead if it weren't for the instrument beside him that showed his heart was still beating.

"Miss Miller, this is the last bottle of liquid, according to the doctor. You will need to pay the money first before they can continue the infusion. H-he also said that, that..." The nurse's voice was getting softer and softer.

Amy didn't have to ask to find out what it was. She already knew it. They wanted them to be discharged from the hospital if they couldn't afford it. She fought back the tears in her eyes.

What should she do? Her father would be hopeless if he left the hospital. Her sole family member would likewise abandon her. Amy was concerned as she stared at her father's features. She was terrified at the thought.
