Deep in thought as to what she wanted to do with her life, Topaz sat on the hospital bed after Adams had left to go see how his company was being operated on since he left "Was it right for her to think it through and accept? What if her abusive husband? But maybe he wouldn't care that much since she was rushed to the hospital by Adams he had not even as much as given her a phone call and that was when she realised that she had not held her phone since she was brought to the hospital may be the bastard had taken her phone thinking she was going to die and no one was going to find her body she was bitter as she sat on the bed thinking of good things that could come with her being in a fake marriage with Adams.

Just as she was thinking deeply Doctor entered the ward with a piece of paper containing all of her results and the vitamins she was supposed to be taking as she was expected to be healthy for the sake of the baby.

A hundred million was no child's play and if she had this money she could not only take care of herself and the child but also she could file for a divorce and then boom she would be able to be free from this man who had caused her to come to this hospital in a condition that looked worst than that of a beggar.

All she wanted was to be happy.

That is her baby would be given the best life forever and she too would be fit from it because as it was if she accepted him she was going to through all of these thoughts just kept her thinking so much that she had a headache but she had to rest as she turned on the bed and go to sleep she needed to take her time before she made a decision she sure was going to regret the rest of her life she had somehow hurried into getting married to her husband thinking if she got married to him he was going to change is the abusive man he was and treat her right but she was wrong as he not only verbally abuse her he went on to hitting her with his fists and making her bleed sometimes and all she could do was hide her pain under a fake smile and some makeup and she looked like everything was going well.

Her husband was never that bright in school as they had schooled together and she was the one who helped him without his projects but at the end of the day he began having the money and instead of taking care of her, he became more of a beast than a companion to her.

These things r0amrd through her head and she found it difficult to agree as to how she could validate her feelings.

At some point, she had thought her husband had bipolar because he would be calm and nice to her and the next he was throwing tantrums and blaming her for something that had happened years back when they were dating as high school sweethearts the mistake she made on that faithful day was to ask him to go see a doctor.

She remembered having entered the emergency room that day and tan away after that but he had found her and somehow he managed to convince her into moving in with him and promised to be a good man with no hitting and battering of her as his then-girlfriend.

Even though she was stupid to have gone back as her friends said but she felt in her that the man who had won't her back into his arms was a changed man little did she know he was a narcissistic bastard who only wanted to validate his ego because he knew whatever he wanted he was going to get it and he treated her like one of his properties and since she didn't know she was pregnant before now it only meant he didn't know she was pregnant with their baby and here she was having a juicy offer of making her life and that of her baby super comfortable for some years because she was going to be taken care of as per a piece of paper signed contract for the countries biggest business tycoon and eligible bachelor how lucky could she get?.

Her mind was made up and she was going to do what her heart wanted her to do she knew whatever decision she was taking was for the betterment of her life and that of her baby.

She thought touching her stomach which was as flat as a chopping board for now.

She closed her eyes and tried to imagine a good place in her life she just loved being positive at all times she wanted to be in a place of bliss and not to think of her terrible life of brutal beatings and hurt.

Topaz wanted to get to her feet and she was going to start doing that now so she slowly drifted off to sleep with beautiful thoughts coming to mind as she dreamt of a better life with no abusive husband.

While on his way driving to work to check what he had been called by his assistant to come do he kept thinking back to what he had asked a total stranger to do.

Was he sure he wanted her to be his contracted wife and also to accept a baby he knew nothing about? of course his mother wanted grandbabies but how was she going to get the news that he had a woman who was pregnant when he had indeed never shown interest or brought in a woman home to show that he was in love.

At some point, his mother had thought of him as gay and she had cried that day and stated the universe had cursed her but maybe if he showed her this woman she was getting off his back as he referred to being with a total stranger who was decent enough then be with the numerous bimbos chosen by his mother for him they all looked money hungry and insatiable with their hunger for things that made no difference in their lives as all they wanted was to be named as one of the girls who was chosen by the great Adams of A&A company.

He drove and stopped at the red light as he thought back to how Topaz had smiled even in her pain she still was trying to make the atmosphere lively.

She had a beautiful smile and she looked like she could pass for a model if she took the modelling gig as a hobby she had soft soon for one who had been continuously battered by her dubious husband only if he could lay his hands on the filthy bastard he was going to make sure he paid for his sins towards an innocent loving girl who did nothing but to love him wholeheartedly.

As he was deep in thought he had failed to see that the red had turned to green and the vehicles behind him were honking and some of the drivers sending profanities his way he only smiled and drove further after trying his best to apologise to a few who were willing to listen to him.

Outside the office, he was a gentleman who listen to those who gave suggestions and he loved family when he was in like with someone he gave his all but inside the office bus employees knew him to be one of the most ruthless men in the century as he made sure they all were on their feet trying to make everything perfect and if they didn't work their ass off then they didn't need to receive a months end salary because without hard work nobody was going anywhere. Irrespective of the fact that he was born with a silver spoon he always tried his best to make sure he was gentle with those around him

After he had listened to his assistant go on and on about what could be done and schedule their meeting with a big investor for the next day his mind was thus clouded by the thoughts of a beautiful bruised young lady named Topaz Salvador who was soon going to be called Mrs Adams he hoped and prayed she had concluded making him the happiest man alive to accept his contract proposal.

As cliche as it might sound, he had already begun feeling a certain way for Topaz and he wanted her to be fine at all costs so he was going to make sure she accepted his proposal because he just wanted to know the girl through and through so that his heart could become a home for her.

After he was done he decided to go for a little clothing shopping and to make sure some things were arranged as food for Topaz in the hospital so that she could be comfortable in her stay there for some time before she could be discharged the bruises were severe she had cuts on her arm and she could very well be limping and may even need a wheelchair if the worst came to the nastiest.

When he got to the hospital she was still asleep and since she was known to make the atmosphere lively he touched her arm lightly but she flinched and was almost launching him in the face before she calmed down knowing he was the one who was around.

" Oh hey calm down there my little tiger, I am the one and I brought you some fresh clothes hope they fit you and some fruits too it's healthy for the baby," he said smiling.

Looking at him. she felt he was trying to treat her as a charity case.

"You know you don't have to do this right? You won't and don't have to take care of me as if I am some kid who has lost get way from home" she said but took the wrap from his hold.

"Of course, I know that Topaz, I am just being nice and no I don't think of you as a charity case best believe me you are more than a charity case to me and I would never treat you kike trash okay?" he assured her and all she could do was nod and thank him for the fruits he had brought.

To think of it he sure was a gentleman who had a hard exterior when people didn't know who he was so she just decided it was good if she answers his question at this point because whatever she said there was going to bind her for the rest of her life be it good or bad she was going to take responsibilities of her decision so after a long thought and meditation she had finally concluded that a stranger who had helped was more than peaceful and safer than the angel looking husband she had tried to portray who had not hesitated in beating her to near death for what seemed to be the umpteenth time and she was done with being abused.

"So about what you said earlier for me to be your baby mama, is there a way I could do that without being crucified by the law for being married to another man and then getting into another marriage without a divorce from my previous relationship?" she asked while hitting into an apple cautiously so she would not hurt her jaw which was bruised beyond recognition.

"We can always make sure we have the way through that and it would be possible if you accept to be my wife" Adams responded looking at her intensely and then she answered, "Yes ill be your contracted bride"...
