C19 It Was so Domineering!

Throughout his years navigating the business world, Leslie had encountered countless women.

The demure and docile, the seductive and charming, the innocent and endearing...

Yet, it was only Evelyn who had the power to stir his emotions, to make him feel joy and sorrow.

Her bright black eyes seemed to hold the vastness of the stars and the ocean, deep and captivating.

After gazing into them for a while, he found himself instinctively reaching out with his free hand to caress her cheek.

"Evelyn, I'm your husband. Don't try to shoulder everything alone," he said, his voice resonating with the depth and assurance of a mature man.

A strand of her hair brushed against his hand, a feather-light touch against his skin.

As he admired his own handsome reflection in her eyes, Evelyn seemed momentarily lost in thought.

But she quickly snapped out of it, a playful smile curving her lips. She took Leslie's hand, placed it on the pillow, and then nestled her face into his warm palm.

His warmth was soothing, a silent promise of comfort and security.

"Uncle, I'm just going to nap for a bit. Make sure you wake me," she murmured, her cheeks flushed.

Whether from fever or embarrassment, it was hard to tell.

"Sleep well, sweetheart," he replied tenderly, his eyes soft with affection.

He gently squeezed her cheek with the hand propped under her head.

"Uncle, I'm off to sleep," she said, resting on his hand, the faint scent of tobacco from his fingertips oddly reassuring.

...

Evelyn was haunted by a dream.

In it, two figures were in hot pursuit of her.

Despite her frantic efforts to escape, she was inevitably captured.

As she wept, half in and out of consciousness, she felt an icy grip tighten around her hand.

But in her vulnerability, she managed to break free.

Waking up drenched in sweat, she was met with Leslie's eyes, filled with concern and distress.

"Uncle..." she murmured, her lips quivering as she spoke his name.

"Mm," he responded softly, his face etched with seriousness.

What had changed?

The contrast between before she slept and now was startling.

Evelyn turned to see Leslie's hand, reddened from being used as her pillow.

To her astonishment, nestled quietly in the center of his palm was a small, colorless, and transparent object.

Evelyn gasped. Had she drooled in her sleep?

Damn!

She muttered a curse under her breath and quickly grabbed Leslie's hand, intending to use her own clothes to wipe it clean.

But she froze.

Oh no!

She wasn't wearing any clothes.

How had he brought her back?

Had he seen her in the nude again?

Evelyn's cheeks burned with embarrassment, wishing she could just disappear into the ground.

Meanwhile, a rare smile graced Leslie's typically stoic face.

With a composed air, he remarked, "You have a nice figure."

He was stating a fact.

It was indeed very nice.

Evelyn's embarrassment deepened. She snatched up the blanket and hid her face behind it.

Leslie simply watched her, a slight smile playing on his lips, saying nothing more.

...

Evelyn had been out for eight hours.

Now it was eight in the evening.

As darkness fell and the effects of the IV wore off, she felt much clearer-headed.

Post-shower, with no clothes of her own, she had no choice but to don Leslie's shirt.

She had planned to go downstairs to make some food, but he stopped her with a firm tone, "Don't go down."

Fine!

If he didn't want her to go down, she wouldn't.

Why the stern face, though?

His presence still intimidated her somewhat.

His aura was undeniably commanding.

His gaze lingered on her slender, pale legs, growing more intense, "I'll get you something to eat."

It was the first time he had been so imperiously caring.
