C11 I Won't Leave
"This is Mr. Moore's cocktail banquet invitation for next Wednesday, remember to attend," Haisley answered as she walked towards the washroom.
Looking at the contents of the invitation letter, Violet's mind delayed for two seconds before she remembered.
Mr. Moore was her teacher's best friend.
In the blink of an eye, the day of the banquet had arrived.
The location of the banquet was chosen to hold at the Southern Mountain of the Mintz family's winery.
More than half of the guests were the high-status people in the City J.
After Violet made the arrangement for the two children, she arrived at the banquet on time.
That night, she was wearing a gown she designed, a Chinese cheongsam. However, her cheongsam was different from an ordinary one as the hem of the cheongsam was designed into a fishtail.
A navy blue fabric matched with her cold fair skin, tying up her long black silky hair, revealing her slender neck. With a gentle smile on her face, she instantly emitted an intellectual and elegant aura.
In the banquet hall, there were many guests walking around and toasting with each other.
However, the moment she appeared, many of the guests' eyes twinkled in surprise.
"Who is this? Why haven't I seen her before?"
"Since she could attend the Mintz family's cocktail banquet, she must have an extraordinary status."
"Yeah, she's gorgeous. Her body figure and face are even better looking than celebrities."
Facing the discussion and speculation, Violet put a smile on her face, calmly picking up a glass of champagne from the waiter then walked to a long table alone and took a small sip.
Ever since she left the Hunt family, she had seldom attended this kind of occasion. Thus, over time, she eventually became unfamiliar with it.
There was still some time before the banquet officially began. Violet walked to the corridor outside the banquet hall and took a gasp of fresh air. At the same time, she also called her mother, who was living on the other side of the ocean, to ask about the recent situation.
"Violet?!"
Just as she opened her handbag, an ear-piercing voice suddenly rang past her ears.
Violet instantly stopped and turned around to look toward the direction of the voice.
She did not expect that the person who stood at the side of the corridor and call her to be Sofia.
Violet frowned slightly, thinking that City J was indeed a small city. In less than half a month's time, she actually ran into Sofia twice.
She stood where she was and remained silent.
Sofia hurriedly walked in front of Violet and asked in a low voice, "Why are you here? What are you doing here?"
She thought that she had seen it wrongly and did not think that it was really Violet.
"It is very obvious that I'm here to attend the banquet," Violet replied with a friendly smile.
"How is that possible? Where did you get the invitation?" Sofia was shocked beyond belief.
This was not an ordinary cocktail banquet, but the Mintz family's winery, one of the top banquet locations in City J.
How could a person with no status like Violet enter?
"I don't think there's a need for you to worry about this," As Violet spoke, she noticed that the expression on Sofia's face was slightly off. Other than shock, there was a hint of fear.
It was just like the last time when they met too.
Could it be that Sofia was really afraid of seeing her?
But why?
Violet was puzzled by the thought on her mind.
Sofia glanced at the banquet hall and found that no one was paying attention to this side. Thus, she grabbed Violet's wrist forcefully and said, "Hurry up and leave. You shouldn't come to this place."
As she spoke, she intended to pull Violet out of the winery.
Tonight, whether it was Violet's makeup or dressing, she was especially stunning.
If Violet were to appear in the banquet hall, it would definitely catch Stanley's attention.
This way, her five years of hard work in disguise would very likely be exposed.
The more Sofia thought about it, the deeper the fear grew in her.
"I'll not leave," Violet Hunt swang her hand and broke free from Sofia's restraint. She lifted the corner of her cold, elegant red lips and took advantage of the opportunity to grab Sofia's wrist. With a slight tug, she drew Sofia toward her.
