C27 Chapter 27

“So you’re Xia Yanyou’s classmate.” Xia Bing’s smiling eyes were full of warmth. “Why are you here by yourself? Where are your parents?”

“I’m looking for my dad too.”

“Oh? Did you get separated from him?” Xia Bing frowned. “How about this—you wait here, and I’ll go get a staff member to help you find him.”

“Mmm.” Saang Yuxin shook his head. “No rush. I can look for him in a little while.” Before Xia Bing could respond, he quickly changed the subject and pointed at the clothes she had designed. “Did you design all of these?”

Xia Bing glanced at her work and smiled. “Yep. What do you think? Do they look nice?”

Saang Yuxin nodded firmly. “They do.”

Xia Bing smiled and couldn’t help ruffling his hair. “Thanks for the compliment.”

Still, she didn’t take his praise too seriously. These designs were meant for adult women, with styles that leaned elegant and refined. Kids usually preferred cartoon prints and bright colors, so she assumed he was just being sweet. Still, he really was an endearing child.

Staring at the iris print along the hem of the dress, Saang Yuxin asked, “Ma’am, are you really good at drawing?”

Xia Bing lifted a brow, confidence flashing in her eyes. “Of course. How could I be a designer if I couldn’t draw? I was born with a real gift for it.”

Admiration flickered in Saang Yuxin’s eyes, and a slight smile tugged at his lips. “I like drawing too. I’m just not as good as you.”

Xia Bing let out a laugh. “I’ve been drawing for over twenty years. How old are you? If you were already better than me, where would that leave me?”

Xia Bing spoke bluntly, but never in a way that made people uncomfortable. If anything, it made her seem sincere. She didn’t brush him off just because he was a child.

Saang Yuxin liked talking to Xia Bing. She wasn’t like his dad’s sketchy girlfriends, who didn’t understand art at all and only knew how to shower his drawings with empty praise.

“Then I want to be as amazing as you when I grow up, ma’am!” Saang Yuxin’s eyes shone, his expression firm with determination.

Seeing how adorable he looked, Xia Bing’s heart completely melted.

She smiled. “I believe you will! As long as you don’t give up and keep pursuing your art!”

“Mm-hmm!” Saang Yuxin nodded hard again.

The more she looked at him, the more she adored him. Xia Bing couldn’t resist reaching out to ruffle his hair again, gentle and affectionate.

Huo Zhou, who had come in worried to look for Saang Yuxin, walked in to find a strange woman ruffling the boy’s hair. His mouth dropped open in shock, his face full of disbelief.

Oh my God, was he seeing things?

That little figure in the distance—was that really his young master Saang?

Young master Saang, who never let strangers touch his head, was actually standing there obediently, letting someone pat his hair!

The sight was downright surreal!

Had young master Saang been possessed or something?

And he was even wearing that sweet, soft expression!

What happened to the aloof little boy who always kept everyone at arm’s length?

Huo Zhou stopped in his tracks, suddenly unable to bring himself to interrupt such a beautiful moment.

He sighed softly to himself. So the young master in his care had this childlike side to him after all!

That was more like it. He was just a kid, after all. Innocent and carefree should have been his most natural state, not that cold, distant mask he always showed the world.

But then again, who was that woman? Why did she and young master Saang look so much like mother and son? Anyone who didn’t know better would probably assume they were related by blood.
