C11 I'm Not A Thief!

Since the watch was now hers, there should be no problem with her wearing it.

Yan Xiaosui just didn’t expect to meet the boy again. Before she could even catch up to him earlier, it was her who got caught.

“The Little Master isn’t a fool,” Assistant Zhang asserted. “Why would he trade something so expensive for a piece of sausage? To think that you can spout lies at your age. Hurry and call your mother.”

Deeply hurt by the insults, Yan Xiaosui teared up. “I’m telling you, he gave it to me! I’m not a thief!”

The one thing she hated the most was being blamed for something she hadn’t done.

“Let it go. Perhaps Jingyan was craving sausages at the time.” Fu Yunjian knew his son well. If the boy found something tasty, he would do anything to try it.

Besides, Fu Jingyan had a history of trading jewelry for ice cream.

Fu Yunjian handed the watch to Yan Xiaosui and patted her head. “He gave it to you, so it’s yours.”

“Uncle, you’re handsome and so very nice!” Her impression of the man was getting better by the minute. She beckoned at him.

Fu Yunjian complied and crouched down to her height, earning him a loud kiss on the cheek.

He froze. It had been a long time since his own son had been this affectionate toward him.

Yan Shu was still oblivious that her daughter had come to the hotel to find her.

Shortly after exiting the conference room, a panicked voice came through her walkie-talkie. “Manager Yan, there’s an emergency! A little boy is having an allergic reaction. Please come quick!”

“I’m on my way.”

Yan Shu rushed into the kitchen and found the staff huddled around a boy.

He was slumped on a chair, unconscious. His arms and neck were covered in a red rash.

“What happened?”

“We’re not sure,” one of the employees replied. “We were going through our morning routine and preparing the ingredients. When I came in to retrieve something from the pantry, I found him eating the cold dishes left on the table. The next thing we know, he developed a rash and fainted.”

“All right, carry on with your work.” Yan Shu picked the boy up, frowning when she realized that he was much lighter than her daughter.

Was this kid not eating properly? Her heart ached at the thought.

She carried the boy to a guest room and called the resident doctor to administer an EpiPen.

After the doctor left, Yan Shu stayed and gently caressed the little boy’s face. She couldn’t help but think about her son, who had been taken away from her. He should be the same age as this child by now.

Once she settled everything, she planned to pay her former mother-in-law a proper visit and collect what was owed to her.

Ten minutes later, the boy’s eyes fluttered open. His gaze was bright and clear, and maybe a little timid.

When her eyes met his, blurry images flashed across Yan Shu’s mind: a dimly lit room, moonlight streaming through the window, a man looming over her…

How she struggled with all her might, how futile it was against his weight…

A pair of cold, narrow eyes that blazed with desire as he leaned down to kiss her…

Yan Shu shook her head, and the scenes vanished.

Why would she remember those things now?

She diverted her attention back to the child. “Are you hungry, Baby? Come and have something to eat.” She had a breakfast tray sent over from the kitchen.

Fu Jingyan blushed.

His father had never called him that before.

He gingerly picked some noodles and put them in his mouth, only to spit them out in the next second.

Fu Jingyan hurriedly grabbed his iPad and typed a message. “I’m sorry, Auntie. I didn’t do it on purpose.”

He was afraid that she would scold him.

These noodles were completely different from the ones he had eaten the other day.

He already sensed that his father had made a mistake in the chef he had hired, so the boy took it upon himself to go to the hotel and find the right person.
