C4 Chapter four: New Partner, Agents Assistant

In the Dark Agency, missions are organized into two categories; normal and advanced. Each category is further divided into four subcategories. Sheep, Wolf , Lion and Bear are the four subcategories under normal missions in ascending order of difficulty respectively. Using floor agents as the basis of measuring how tough a mission is, it'll take a single floor agent to complete a Sheep level mission, and in case you're wondering how capable a floor agent is, you can assume they are as skilled as a ranger(elite soldiers trained under the U.S special forces). Moving on...It'll take three floor agents to complete a Wolf level mission, six to a Lion level and ten to a Bear level. But the advanced category of missions are on another scale altogether, its subcategories are; The Great White Shark, Meggaledon, Kraken and Dragon in ascending order of difficulty. First let's measure the threat level of these missions, a Great White Shark level mission will need at least a fifty agents, a Meggaledon level at least hundred agents, a Kraken level at least hundred and fifty agents and a Dragon level at least two hundred agents. In the Agency's thirty year history about eight advanced missions have surfaced, And the most recent was only a year ago, a Great White level mission that was completed by a single person, Rogue the salvation. He alone fought off a hundred and twenty five heavily armed interpol personnel and destroyed three armoured choppers and two armoured trucks that were sent as reinforcements from the FBI,shockingly he used only a handgun and a sword to achieve such a feat, the reason you'll learn of later so let's progress with the story...

As Rogue was still stunned from the mission difficulty, a lady walked in from behind him, normally he'd notice anything within a hundred metres of his surrounding immediately, but somehow this woman had managed to completely hide her presence so he noticed her only after she was standing right beside him at an arms length. She wore black office wear on black fishnets and high ankle boots, but the full black get up surprisingly brought out her stunning blonde beauty, and when she glanced over at Rogue, he noticed her deep blue eyes that were almost entrancing.

"Oh agent Candy you've arrived just on time, the mission briefing was just about to start, but before that let's introduce you to your new boss, rank one dark agent Rogue"

She turned to Rogue and slightly bowed, "glad to be in your service, master Rogue"

"I didn't think I'd be seeing you soon, Candy was it?, How come you were serving as a regulator just a while ago when you're an agent assistant?, and your appearance and demeanor has changed completely from when we met earlier, almost didn't recognize you"

"That was me as a regulator but now I'm an an assassin, different jobs need different approaches"

He had no argument with her ideology as it was not wrong, and through her answer Rogue could deduce that she was skilled at performing different roles to meet situational conditions, as you'd expect from one of the only twelve agent assistants, nine who guard the board and the standby three who support agents when they needed help. Earlier, the agency had decided to assign Rogue an assistant, not only due to his position as the number one ranking agent but also as the son of the board chair, but he refused due to mostly his pride and the fact that he could not work effectively with a partner since they were often times more of a burden than a helper.

"That's enough, you two probably met earlier since she granted your permit here, you'll get time to familiarize with each other on the mission, let's proceed to the mission briefing at hand, the board doesn't have all day...

According to the client's request to stay anonymous, no information on the client is available, the objective of this mission is to take out the Mafia group known as 'The Donnies', since this is an advanced mission the agency will naturally provide you with all the informational data and support and will keep updating you on new intel through your personal communicators, also the mission rewards will be calculated upon completion..."

As the briefing ended, Candy made a guesture to be given the opportunity to ask a question

"If the enemy is only a Mafia group, how come the mission ended up becoming an advanced mission, normally won't that fall under a Lion or Wolf level of the normal category?"

"You should read the mission details that have been provided on the update page before you ask such a question Candy, though if you did you still won't be able to grasp the full situation", Rogue interrupted before the board could answer her question,"I'll tell you about it later, so tht the board can save itself the trouble"

"Good, that saves time. Then this meeting is done, you've been given access to every resource the Agency has to offer to complete the mission apart from seeking help from other agents, this mission is top secret and must be completed with few hands as possible within four weeks"

With that last statement as their conclusion, the board members started leaving the hall. As easy as they made it sound, completing an advanced mission within a month was completely outrageous, but it was because of this fact that Rogue had been selected to do the job since he was more outrageous than even the most skilled killers. But many questions kept building up in his head about the abnormal specifics of the mission and he was going to get all the answers to the unveiled no matter what it took, before he knew it a creepy grin was already on his face from his scheming thoughts.

With all his agency work sorted for the day, Rogue was looking to head home to take a break, but now he had a hindrance in the form of an assistant marching him by every step, after all assistant agents always follow their bosses and never stray more than a hundred metres from them, it wasn't like he didn't want to take a pretty girl home, but he made it a point to make sure that the agency knew next to nothing about the locations of his houses since he liked to enjoy his rest and free time eating junk food and playing video games, to him those were the most important things in life and he'd go very far to protect his vacation and his hobbies.

After brooding about it, he decided to show her only one of his houses, the one he used for formal stuff in the normal world. But just as he was leaving the agency building, his luck went from bad to worse, he met the person he least wanted to meet in this situation...

"If it isn't Rogue,my greatest rival, who thought I'd meet you today, you're like a ghost who shows himself only when he wants people to see him"

"If it isn't my greatest annoyance, Shredder, stole the words right out of my mouth apart from the ghost part, so what do you want this time?"

"The usual, how about a death duel after so long, it's been four months since I last saw you... By the way who's the chick following you around?"
