C13 She Came and Went

After a moment of searching, her eyes lit up. Being a celestial being was truly different. Although she was still just a budding talent, her five centuries of power meant she could heal her damaged body by channeling her spiritual force.

"Don't worry, I'll save you now," Feng Qingchen reassured the woman on the ground, whose eyes were bright with excitement. Her voice was filled with emotion. It was her first time saving someone.

As she moved her hands, a gentle white light became sharp and flowed into the woman's body. The woman's complexion turned rosy.

Feng Qingchen watched the woman's face closely. Seeing her improve stirred a sense of pride and satisfaction within her. In her past life, she had only proven her worth through taking lives, which left her heart cold. She never imagined that in this new life, saving someone could bring such fulfillment.

As for the spiritual force, the woman was only human. Feng Qingchen had used just a small amount to comfort her, and she could replenish it in a day.

Her hands moved swiftly through the air, creating fleeting trails of white light. The woman's complexion continued to improve until she looked completely healthy.

Suddenly, the unexpected happened. The woman coughed up blood. Feng Qingchen's hands paused, a flicker of panic in her heart. She had followed the instructions perfectly. The technique was supposed to be the most basic level, and she had a photographic memory, learning everything quickly without any mistakes.

"Great Spirit Fox, there's a parasite inside me... If it's not removed, it'll keep absorbing my nutrients and grow stronger." The woman coughed up blood again, but a sudden clarity hit her, and she quickly spoke.

A parasite... a worm?

Feng Qingchen instinctively recalled the fleeting dark line on her face when they first met... Could that have been the parasite?

So, all the spiritual force she just used was actually nourishing the parasite?

The dark line on the woman's face became more pronounced, thicker than before. She coughed up blood once more...

Feng Qingchen's eyes darkened slightly. She wanted to help, but she didn't know how to remove the parasite. Her abilities hadn't reached that level yet.

"I'm sorry, I can't remove this parasite," Feng Qingchen sighed, waving her paw. A soft, water-like white light enveloped the woman, suppressing her injuries.

"However, I can keep your injuries in check. You should find someone who can remove the parasite," Feng Qingchen suggested with a slight smile. Although parasite specialists were rare on this continent, there were a few renowned ones. If the woman could survive long enough to find them, she'd only need to focus on recovery.

"Great Spirit Fox, there's no need. I have one more request. Please, use your powers to help me," the woman said with a bitter smile.

Someone had told her that this parasite needed to be nurtured for eighty-one days. For the first eighty days, it was almost undetectable, but on the eighty-first day, it would start to drain her life force...

It's been exactly eighty-one days... but she just couldn't accept it!

Feng Qingchen furrowed her brow slightly. Did this woman really think of her as some kind of saint who saves the suffering?

"Go ahead, tell me," Feng Qingchen said coolly, still flipping through the records.

Though this woman was indeed pitiable, Feng Qingchen was not one to easily get involved in trouble. Even though her current form was strong, it hadn't fully matured yet...

She needed to be cautious and prudent...
