C15 She Helped
"Is it possible?" Yanlan's eyes sparkled with a hint of excitement. After a lifetime of deceit, she was now at the end of her rope. If she wanted revenge, she had to rely on someone else.
"It is possible, but..." Qingchen's eyes flickered as she looked at Yanlan's increasingly pale face, knowing she could no longer suppress the poison within her. With a sigh, Qingchen searched through her knowledge and, finding no other solution, said with empathy, "I can transform into your likeness to exact your revenge, but I'll need something from you to match your aura. A blood bond would suffice."
Yanlan nodded vigorously. Given Mrs. Yuh's nature, if "she" returned, a blood bond would likely be unavoidable.
"Whatever you need, if I have it, it's yours."
Qingchen lowered her eyes, her voice soft, "Your heart's blood."
Yanlan was momentarily stunned, then smiled, "But I don't have the strength to draw it myself. I'm afraid I'll have to trouble you with that."
This woman seemed to face death with remarkable composure.
Qingchen extended her hand, her nails emerging...
"If you complete this task, please tell the Fifth Prince that Ying'er... can no longer accompany him to explore the world. If there's a next life, Ying'er will find him again..." Yanlan closed her eyes, a single tear slowly trailing down her cheek, as if reluctant to part.
"Okay." Qingchen was momentarily stunned, then responded in a serious tone.
A ripping sound.
A soft thud.
A line of blood trickled from Yanlan's chest, merging into Qingchen's palm. Yanlan was gone, leaving unexpectedly the moment her chest was torn open. It happened because the calming energy that had been soothing Yanlan was withdrawn.
Yanlan had been tormented for days, and Qingchen saw no reason for her to endure more pain. Qingchen realized that in this new life, her compassion seemed to be growing...
But it wasn't entirely selfless. The western continent, a secluded place with beautiful landscapes but lacking in spiritual energy, was where she needed to be. The eastern continent, bustling with practitioners, was too dangerous; she might be captured before she even had a chance to explore. Having crossed over once, she intended to make the most of it. Even if she couldn't overcome the heavenly tribulation in a thousand years, she'd still have lived much longer than before—a definite win!
Helping Yanlan also granted her a new identity. With this heart's blood, the infamous Divine Sovereign Fengming would never suspect she had taken human form, allowing her to avoid his wrath.
A white light enveloped her, and when it faded, she stood there, a woman completely bare.
Her features were delicate, with eyes that shone brilliantly, captivating anyone who caught her gaze. Her lips, a hint of red, curled into a mysterious smile. This was unmistakably Yanlan, though her demeanor had transformed entirely. She now exuded a relaxed, effortless confidence, with an aura that was nothing short of astonishing.
A gentle breeze swept by, and she felt a slight chill. Looking down, she was stunned to find herself completely bare. When her body was covered in fur, she hadn't noticed the cold, but now she felt it acutely. Quickly, she summoned her energy to shield herself from the biting cold that enveloped the mountains, then searched through her knowledge for a spell to conjure clothing.
As she flipped through her mental catalog, her fingers moved, and a beam of white light enveloped Yanlan. Flames erupted around her, and in moments, only a pile of white ash remained. She had been suppressed her entire life, but now, she was finally free...
