C16 You Are the First One to Say That I Am a Demon

In an instant, Feng Qingchen transformed her attire, appearing as graceful as a celestial goddess. She wore a flowing white gown, with delicate chiffon fluttering in the breeze. A jade belt accentuated her slender waist, while peach blossoms bloomed intricately on her shoulders, their exquisite embroidery hinting at something beyond ordinary. A subtle glow seemed to emanate from her.

Her arched brows and clear, expressive eyes added a touch of spirit to her already refined features. Although this face currently resembled Hee Yanlan's, as her abilities evolved, her appearance would gradually shift to reflect her true self. While this face was beautiful, she was curious to see how her own youthful visage would develop in the future.

The gown she wore was a transformation of her own fur, making it exceptionally comfortable. The scenery below the mountain was equally impressive, with a secluded path leading to a wide road. Looking back, the Wind Coming Mountain was shrouded in mist, obscuring the view, but the landscape below was lush and picturesque.

Feeling bored, she conjured a tail, idly playing with it in her hands, deciding to head in whichever direction seemed most appealing. Suddenly, a chilling gust approached from behind, and a sharp, cold light sliced toward her head.

"Prepare to meet your end, fiend," a somewhat aged voice echoed.

Feng Qingchen swiftly dodged the incoming sword strike and looked up to see an old man in traditional robes.

"Aren't you supposed to be seeking enlightenment? Why are you attacking me?" Feng Qingchen frowned.

"Silence, monster! You deserve to die," the old man retorted, swinging his sword again after his first attempt failed.

With a flick of her hand, Feng Qingchen's tail vanished, and her hand transformed into a claw. In a few swift moves, she had the old man pinned to the ground.

Pressing her foot lightly on his chest, she asked, "Who are you calling a monster?"

Stubborn as ever, the old man shouted, "You were just holding your own tail! If you're not a creature, then what are you?"

Feng Qingchen paused, then replied, "Even if I were a creature, there are good and bad ones. Do you plan to kill them all?"

"There's no such thing as a good creature! Do what you will; I admit I'm no match for you," the old man said defiantly, closing his eyes, ready to meet his fate.

He had assumed Feng Qingchen was just a minor creature since she hadn't fully transformed, but...

"Open your eyes and see for yourself. I'm no monster," Feng Qingchen said, realizing reasoning with him was futile. However, she could still find some use for someone who came to her willingly.

A soft, pale light seemed to shimmer around her, almost tangible, reminiscent of the ethereal aura from legends.

The old sage froze, his face turning pale. “Are you... a celestial being?”

Feng Qingchen's gaze was calm, offering no further explanation. She simply said in a quiet voice, “A few days ago, I arrived on a golden phoenix. You were the first to call me a demon.”

Her words left much to the imagination.

She stepped aside.

“Please, forgive me, great celestial. Don’t hold it against this old fool... My eyes are failing, and I didn’t recognize greatness when I saw it...” The old sage immediately dropped his sword and knelt on the ground, his expression respectful and his face ashen.

“But my patience is limited...” Feng Qingchen watched as the old sage's face turned as white as a sheet. She continued, “Take me to a place and do as I say, and I’ll let you go.”
