C10 An Early Morning Belittlement ... With Just a Touch of Sass in Return

Doreen ... Joslyn's nineteen-year-old cousin ... exits the kitchen, while using a large serving spoon to scoff down cookie dough ice cream from its half gallon container, when she runs into her father, Beta Alfred.

Caught in the act, Doreen stops dead in her tracks ... frozen motionless while appearing dazed and mesmerized; looking like 'a deer caught in the headlights' ... holding onto the serving spoon that's halfway crammed into her stretched-out mouth; as small, melting globs of the ice cream oozes out from both sides. The Beta stares at her with reproachful eyes while sullenly shaking his head in disappointment; then huffs...

"Why did your mother have to go and leave me behind with such a sorry excuse of a daughter who's so lacking in self-control and discipline? ... I thought we agreed that you would go on a diet and start eating healthier."

Doreen keeps her mesmerized gaze fixed upon her father's reproachful stare as she slowly pulls the spoon from her mouth and sticks it upright into the container; then slowly wipes the melted ice cream off her face with her pajama top's sleeve. The Beta's reproachful stare intensifies ... going from disappointment to disgust ... as he continues to chastise her...

"No father wants a gluttonous pig for a daughter ... and I could guarantee you that no respectable male-wolf would want one for his wife, either. At this rate I'll never be able to marry you off; and I'll be stuck having to take care of you for the rest of my life, while you eat us out of house and home. ... Why can't you be more like your cousin, and take care of yourself and be physically fit? You're supposed to be a sleek she-wolf; not a round rollie poly."

These belittling remarks are not only harsh but are also unjustifiably unfounded. It's true that Doreen carries around a little extra weight, but she's not what one would consider to be as being fat. She's actually rather an attractive girl; a far cry from the misleading depiction seen in her father's overly critical and judgmental eyes.

Doreen is around Joslyn's height ... maybe about half an inch, or so, shorter than her ... with a 'pleasantly plump' physique that's blessed with overly ample, extra-large cantaloupe-sized breasts and a 'J-Lo like' butt; all of which usually draws the fellas' attention away from those few extra pounds she's carrying.

She has a lighter complexion than Joslyn; although it's tinted with a distinctive rosy-red coloring, which aptly suits her typically boisterously-bubbly, jovial disposition. And she has delightfully amicable features ... with big, gentle brown eyes that are almost 'doe-like' in appearance; a nicely centered button-nose; and sumptuously plump, reddish-pink lips which spend most of their time stretched-out in a huge, friendly smile across her face.

Perhaps if those belittling remarks were occasionally tossed out at her from time to time, maybe Doreen might take them to heart; but since her father constantly, and repeatedly, criticizes her ... almost sounding like a broken record ... Doreen takes all of his chastisements with a grain of salt. In other words, Doreen is unaffected by him berating her, allowing all of his cruel remarks to, in essence, be like 'water running off a duck's back'.

An impish grin emerges upon her lips as she flippantly quips...

"But I am eating healthier ... ice cream is mostly made from milk. And it's like that slogan says..."

She hands the container of ice cream over to her father; and after that, an unabashed Doreen playfully cups her hands under her beasts, and lifts them up and jiggles them together...

"Milk ... it does a body good."

Beta Alfred rebukingly glares at his daughter and snaps...

"Impudent brat ... have you no shame?! No respect for your father?! ... How can you behave in such a manner? No respectable daughter would ever dare talk back and act so brazenly to her father."

Still wearing that impish grin, Doreen saucily replies...

"And no respectable father would ever call his daughter a 'gluttonous pig that he won't be able to marry off'."

An irked Beta Alfred is momentarily silent, standing there reproachfully glaring at Doreen before callously telling her...

"I'm only telling you how it is. If you don't like what I'm telling you, then stop stuffing yourself all the time."

He glances down at the cookie dough ice cream in his hand, then looks back up at Doreen...

"If you have the time to wake up this early and cram this kind of crap down your throat, then why don't you shape-shift into your wolf-form and go out for a long run in the woods ... burn off some of that fat from your body."

Coming upon them ... while catching the end of their conversation ... Alpha Sebastian curtly interjects...

"No; she can't do that! Not now, at least. ... Alfred; for the time being, until notified otherwise, no pack member is allowed to go out in their wolf-form, under any circumstances. That's a direct order from your Alpha. After we're done with our meeting, I want you to make sure you help get the word out."

Beta Alfred and Doreen look at the Alpha for a brief moment, with quizzical expressions etched on their countenances, before the Beta finally asks...

"I take it this new direct order of yours has something to do with what you called to speak with me about, so early in the morning?"

The Alpha gravely nods. "Yes."

Then he looks over towards Doreen and smiles...

"Anyway ... even if I didn't have to come up with this new temporary directive ... there's no need for Doreen to go out for a run; because she's really not that fat. In fact, I believe that she's fine just the way she is. ... Really, Alfred; I think you're being way too harsh over your daughter's weight."

The Beta huffingly scoffs...

"So says the father with the not fat kids. I mean just look at Joslyn; if she were to put in only a smidgen more effort, she could pass for a super-model ... whereas my pitiful daughter just looks like she's been 'super-sized'."

"That's enough, Alfred." The Alpha quickly shoots over a reprimanding look to the Beta; then turns back to his niece and smiles. "Just ignore what he said, Doreen ... sometimes your father's mouth operates before his brain turns on. I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it; and I don't think he was trying to be mean about it when he said it."

"Oh, but I'm sure he did mean something by it; Uncle Sebastian ... and was being mean about it."

Doreen displays another impish grin, the flippantly remarks...

"But that's alright ... after all; it's not like I was ever planning on nominating him for the 'Father of the Year Award', or anything like that."

The Beta quickly raises his hand ... threateningly poising it as if he was going to deliver a backhand slap to her face ... and fiercely glares at Doreen, while snapping...

"You impudent brat; I ought to..."

The Alpha brusquely snaps...

"I said that's enough, Alfred!" He briefly pauses while taking in a quick breath. "I don't have time to keep standing here and watching you and your daughter quibble. ... The others should be arriving soon; and we have important things to discuss, and urgently pressing matters needing to be handled."

Beta Alfred lowers his hand; but still glares at Doreen with seething eyes...

"Fine ... I was getting tired of wasting my breath on this she-wolf 'garbage disposal', anyway." He abruptly shoves the container of ice cream into his daughter's chest. "Here you go, 'Miss Piggy'; eat until you explode for all I care. ... Sebastian; I'll wait for you and the others in your chamber."

The Beta gives his daughter one last reproachful glance while disappointingly shaking his head; then stomps off. Another impish grin emerges upon Doreen's lips; then she murmurs under her breath...

"Well ... don't let it ever be said that I was a disobedient daughter who doesn't listen to what her father says or doesn't do what she's told to do."

And after saying that, Doreen scoops out another heaping serving spoon of cookie dough ice cream and crams it into her mouth.

The Alpha is just about ready to walk away, but inquires before leaving...

"Oh; by the way, Doreen ... what are you doing up so early in the morning for, anyway?" He glances down at the half gallon container of ice cream that she's holding and smiles; then jocosely quips, "Don't tell it was just so you can give yourself 'brain freeze'?"

Doreen briefly titters before responding...

"No, Uncle Sebastian ... actually; I was just on my way back from Jasmine's room, when I got hungry all of a sudden. So, I..."

Alpha Sebastian her off, "Hold on ... what were you doing in Jasmine's room? Is she alright? Is something wrong with her?"

"No, she's fine; Uncle Sebastian ... no need to worry. She was just having another one of her restless night's sleep ... tossing and turning and fitting about for a while. But she's okay, now. ... 'Out like a light', and 'sleeping lie a log'."

"I see. Well; as long as she's alright, then."

"She's fine."

The Alpha starts to walk away, but quickly stops, when it suddenly hits him like an epiphany...

"Wait a minute ... where's Joslyn? Don't tell me your cousin didn't return home at all last night?"

Now it hits Doreen like an epiphany ... she had just inadvertently 'ratted' her cousin out.

It's not that Joslyn excessively dotes on Jasmine; but she does attentively look after and takes care of her sister more than anyone else in the household does ... including their mother; who's always busy with both her Luna responsibilities and her position as CEO of the Luminary Corporation. And usually, if Jasmine had a restless night's sleep, it's Joslyn who would be staying by her bedside tending to her; with Doreen filling in only during Joslyn's absence.

Normally if Joslyn were to spend the whole night out ... even if she didn't call to let them know about it ... this wouldn't really bother the Alpha, because he knows that Joslyn can pretty much take care of things all by herself and handle just about anything thrown her. Frankly speaking, she's more than capable of protecting herself should anything happen. In fact, having Frederick assigned to her as a personal bodyguard is just a formality for her to maintain her 'status quo General Manager corporate image'; because the truth is, Joslyn would probably be able to take out Frederick in a heartbeat, if they were ever to get into a real fight.

But after just having received word about what had transpired throughout the night, the Alpha is now feeling a bit uneasy and concerned for his daughter's safety and well-being.
