C1 THE TWINS

" Betty come outside, Aunt Damilola is around". Becky announced. Betty opened the door and Becky burst into laughter.

" You fell for it so you are going on a date with Elite, remember our deal". Becky said and dragged her sister inside their room.

" Becky, I thought you said you are not playing the game again?" Betty said.

"Silly girl, you of all people should know that I don't back down on a game or challenge, so are going on a date with Elite" Becky said.

"You know that union can't work. Elite is not a serious kid and he is too proud". Betty said while twisting the hem of her dress.

"It's just a date, if you don't like him, you can move on with your life. Mummy and papa won't know about it". Becky assures Betty.

"That's another danger zone. Papa will kill me if he finds out, I don't want to get into trouble". Betty said.

"Stop being a kid, very soon you will be sixteen. It's high time you start making your own decisions and take risks. That is the fun of teenage hood, trust me nothing will happen". Becky tries to convince her twin. "Becky being a teenager is not about having a boyfriend. This is the time we start to plan our future. A time will come when these so called boys will flock to you like flies" Betty said.

"Our motivational speaker has spoken. the latest good girl in town. We are twins yet we don't act like one. I always do everything you say, for once Betty respect my decision. I might be dull in academics but i still have a brain that is still functioning properly". Becky said in a pleading manner.

"I can't follow your ways Becky. Your lifestyle is nothing to write home about. Daddy always say....".

" Shut up!". Becky said with command . " Shut up this instant Betty!. Daddy's girl, are you trying to remind me of the father's love that i lack?, Daddy this, Daddy that". Becky hissed and jumped on the bed. "Becky don't say that, you know daddy loves us ". Betty said and began to rub Becky's feet.

"Says a girl that gets everything she wants". Becky hissed and walked out of the room.

" I love you Becky".

"Aunt Dami...lo..la..a..a..a!". Becky exclaimed excitedly. "I miss you so much".

"Where is Betty?, Go tell her aunt Dami is around". Damilola said and sits on the sofa. "No much difference since five years, wow!".

"Aunt Dami,no hug for me?". Becky asks trying to stop her tears from dropping from her eyes.

Aunt Damilola didn't answer her because her face is buried in her phone.

"Ok, I will go and call her". Becky finally accepted her fate and ran upstairs to call Betty.

"Aunt Damilola is calling you". Becky announced and sits on the floor beside the wardrobe.

" I am so sorry for what i said earlier". Betty apologized and sits beside her." You shouldn't have gone too far to force me into doing things you want me to do. I am your sister, l will do anything for you, twins song, one, two, go.

"Am i bad?". Becky asks interrupting Betty.

"No dear, you are the coolest sister in the world and crazy.. sometimes. You always save me from trouble." Betty replied.

"You've never gotten into trouble"

"What if someone attacks me, i know you will be there for me". Betty said and hug her.

"No competition?". Becky asks.

"I don't understand".

"I mean no one will ever take my place right?, Not even another sister". Becky explains.

"Silly you.". Betty said patting Becky's hair. " You and i know that mummy has reached her menopause. So there is no way, i will ever replace you".

Becky smiled hold her sister's hand " twins song?".

"Sure". Betty replied.

"We are born to rule, rule the universe.

Rule the world!". They ended the song and hugged each other.

"I love you sister". They said in chorus.

" Wow!. what am i missing?". Damilola said revealing her presence in the room.

"Aunt Damilola!". They exclaimed and jumped on her.

" Hey, hey, you guys have a lot of weight. What has your mother been feeding you". Damilola said and they all sat on the bed.

"I wasn't lying when i said ideceived you by saying she's around". Becky whisper into her sister's ear.

"I told you that you have superpowers but you wouldn't believe me. Now see". Betty whispers back.

"Superpowers are in fairy tales, and they don't exist". Becky said.

" What are you guys talking about?, do you mind if i chip in?". Damilola asks.

" Nope. it's sisters secret". They said it in union.

"Ok pretty heads. I will be in the sitting room, bye". Damilola stood up and left the room.

"Mummy is bringing a maid". Becky murmours.

"What did you say?". Betty asks.

"Nothing, never mind". Becky replied.

Becky and Betty are identical twins, with slight difference. Becky has a full and a very long hair, she also has a pointed nose. Becky is a party time and loves to receive attention from everyone including her admires. When it comes to education, she is a pure dounce. She has more than six boyfriends with different intentions.

Meanwhile, Betty has a full and a shorter hair, she is an introvert and keeps herself away from the world. Though she is not so cute as her sister because of her glasses that makes her look weird and her dressing is different from Becky's. Betty always comes first in her class and that made her Dad to love her more. Their unique resemblance is their skin colour, and curves. They are both browned skin

The following Monday, the driver drove the twins to their school. Betty came down from the car and walked into the school gate without looking back.

" Ogini kwanu small madam, we have reach your school na". Emeka their driver spoke when he noticed that Becky wasn't moving.

"Miks bobo. Haha, you worry too much. Assembly hasn't started yet so chill, my father is paying you". Becky replied.

"How many times have I told you not to call me miks bobo. I am a married man with three kids. " Emeka warns her.

" Fine!. I need your help". Becky said.

"Small madam please i don't want trouble, your parents are coming home tomorrow, please i can't take you anywhere". Emeka said.

" I need to be at this party tonight, i can't afford to miss out of it. Please uncle Emeka, just this once. I won't disturb you again". Becky pleads.

" That's what you said the last time, last two times even up to the fourth time". Emeka said refusing to give in.

" What about 20k entering into your account or should i mind my business?". Becky bribes him. "Common,i won't stay till daybreak".

"Okay I've heard you. Just this once oh". Emeka finally accepts.

Becky opened the car and jumped down. As she was walking to the gate, she clashed with someone.

"I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking".

A nice acapella voice spoke.

"Don't worry, it's my fault. I wasn't looking, pardon me". Becky quickly apologized.

Some senior girls in Treasure high college rushed out of their various class room to see the new handsome student.

" He's so cute and rich". Emelia one of Betty and Becky classmate comments.

" I'm sure this guy is for Betty, he looks smart and cool and Betty is the only one without a boyfriend in our class". Efe another classmate spoke.

" She already has, so spare the new student!". Becky exclaimed angrily. "Betty this, Betty that". she stomped into the class.

" What's up with her". Ada whispered into Yetunde' s ear.

" No idea". She replied. "She is always jealous of Betty".

" Yetunde , you said it yourself oh, count me out if anything sup". Ada said cleaning her hands in her hand kerchief.
