C13 Facing Him!

"Mr. Mi," Gu Feixi said, "has been spending a lot of time with his plants lately. Today, when Miss Mi came over, he was all smiles for quite a while."

But Gu Feixi really didn't want to hear another word about Mi Qi'an.

Mr. Mi led Gu Feixi to the park, where Mi Qi'an and Grandpa were chatting and laughing.

"Grandpa," Gu Feixi greeted.

Grandpa's face lit up even more when he saw Gu Feixi. He turned to Mi Qi'an and said, "See, you come, and he follows."

Mi Qi'an gave a gentle smile, one that used to be an unforgettable moment in Gu Feixi's dreams, but now it filled him with dread.

"Feixi, you came too," Mi Qi'an said, her chestnut waves dancing in the breeze, her short dress looking lovely.

Gu Feixi nodded without replying, avoiding eye contact with Mi Qi'an.

Gu Feixi's indifference left Mi Qi'an a bit disappointed, but she maintained her smile, embodying the grace of a true lady.

"What happened? You two grew up together and used to be so close," Grandpa remarked.

"Yes," Gu Feixi replied.

Seeing the lack of conversation, Grandpa found an excuse to leave with Mr. Mi, leaving Gu Feixi and Mi Qi'an alone in the garden.

Gu Feixi sat down to drink coffee, not initiating any conversation.

"I called you earlier, but you didn't pick up, so I came to check on Grandpa," Qi'an said gently.

"I didn't see it," Feixi replied coolly.

Qi'an felt a bit awkward but continued, "I know you're still upset with me. When I chose to go abroad, it was my father's decision. Please don't blame me anymore."

Feixi let out a cold laugh, his gaze icy as he looked at Qi'an, making her feel a chill run through her. Yet, she met his eyes without flinching.

"I'm not angry. There was never anything between us," Feixi's indifference was chilling.

Feixi, Qi'an, and Tang Soong had grown up together. Qi'an had always liked Feixi and treated him well. Eventually, they got together, but Qi'an chose to go abroad, leaving Feixi behind.

Disappointed, Qi'an lowered her head. She knew that even though she was back, some things couldn't be undone. Still, she wanted to try, hoping they could return to how things were.

"Feixi, I've arranged to have dinner with Tang Soong tomorrow. Why don't you join us?" Qi'an suggested.

Without a second thought, Feixi replied, "I'm busy."

In truth, Feixi wanted to leave right then and there, not wanting to spend another minute with Qi'an. But since they were at his grandfather's house, he restrained himself, not wanting his grandfather to find out about their issues. After all, to Feixi, his grandfather was the most important person.

At that moment, Mr. Mi approached them and said, "Sir, Miss Mi, dinner is ready. The master asked me to invite you both to join him."

Gu Feixi immediately headed inside, while Mi Qi'an stood up and smiled at Mr. Mi, saying, "Thank you."

Mr. Mi, with a cheerful smile, replied, "You're welcome, Miss Mi. It's been a while since the young master visited, and now that you're here, he came too. You two really have a special connection."

Mr. Mi's words made Mi Qi'an very happy. She watched Gu Feixi's retreating figure with a sense of comfort. Perhaps Mr. Mi was right; having grown up together, they understood each other without needing to say much.
