C6 Terrified

Roxy stayed put in the toilet as she cried her heart out. She clamped her hands over her mouth, stopping herself from crying out loud while the ladies did their business.

What problems did the people at the office have with her anyways?

She was just a cleaner for heaven's sake!

And Mr Kent?

He's been nothing but a bloody bastard, irritating her life and hoping to frustrate her effort.

Now that he had her clean his office, she hoped he was satisfied and his tiny little ego was boosted in some way!

He must feel really important, now that he had her at his beck and call like some servant of his.!

Roxy opened the door when she knew the coast was clear.

She exhaled, staring at her reflection in the mirror, her eyes were red in tears and her hair was just a bloody mess.

Of course they would treat her differently! She looked like what she's been through…

Roxy sighed, reminding herself she was here for the paycheck, she needed the money.

Roxy turned on the water and washed her face, one looked at her reflection and she was out the door, ready to face her cruel fate once again…

She made her way out of the bathroom, heading for the next floor she was to clean for the day.

The women who walked past her whispered and laughed in her face but she was used to that now, nothing about their behavior seemed to shock her anymore.

She wasn't here for them, she was here to get a job done and that was it.

"Miss Roxy?"

Her eyes met with Brianna's by the corridor. Why couldn't she look the slightest bit like this woman?

Slender but blessed with the womanly endowment.

With her hair elegantly swept back into a sleek ponytail, she exuded an air of sophistication. Her choice of attire was impeccable, featuring pant trousers paired with a crisp white top, skillfully tucked in to accentuate her figure.

Her shoes were adorned with exquisite accessories, each detail adding a touch of glamor to her ensemble. Brianna's natural beauty shone so brightly that she didn't require any makeup, her radiance was simply breathtaking.

As she stood there, the question lingered in the air. Could anyone ever hope to match the sheer beauty and allure that she effortlessly embodied?

Roxy made her way towards Brianna, staying a reasonable distance away from her.

She felt like she would stain Brianna's present appearance by being any closer than she should.

"The boss needs you to clean up his office. He's having a meeting with the board right now, I suggest you get to it quickly before he gets back okay?" Brianna gave her a sweet smile.

She was about the only person who bothered to treat her like the human she was…

"The boss was drunk last night, is he alright?"

Brianna paused, a serious look in her eyes "About that, Miss Roxy. I think it's best if you don't mention this to the boss. It's best to avoid the discussion"

"Why?"

Brianna shakes her head, her eyes pleading with Roxy not to force the words out of her mouth.

"I really hope you understand. You should go to his office now. He's going to be really mad if his office looks like a mess okay?"

Brianna hurried away, heading towards the elevator that went up to the board room.

Roxy was curious about this but she decided to take Brianna's advice.

It was no use contouring this when the young lady had given her a sincere warning beforehand..

She made her way to Mr Kent's office. It was hard to believe she had cleaned this place up this morning!

Did Kent intentionally trash the place and have her clean it all up?

She could never understand what the matter was with this man!

He was so annoying and sometimes she feels like she would be justified if she threw him off a fucking cliff!

Roxy, overwhelmed by a surge of emotions, decided to close her eyes tightly and inhale deeply, attempting to regain control of her volatile temper. She understood that allowing anger to consume her could lead to dire consequences, possibly even imprisonment.

Her crime? It appeared highly probable that she had committed the crime. The crime in question was no trivial matter, it seemed disturbingly likely that she had committed the most heinous act of all, taking her boss's life.

The circumstances surrounding this dark accusation painted a grim picture. Whispers of motive and opportunity swirled in the air, leaving no room for doubt. The evidence, both circumstantial and direct, pointed accusing fingers in her direction.

Taking deliberate steps to mask any trace of her actions, Roxy's initial move involved picking up the scattered papers strewn across the floor and tossing them into the trash bin. She carefully wiped down the table's surface, ensuring not a single fingerprint remained, and discarded the numerous empty coffee cups that littered the room.

As she gathered a total of ten coffee-stained paper cups, an unexpected wave of irritation washed over her, intensifying the turmoil within her mind.

Is there anyone in this man's life who has the courage to address the fact that his excessive coffee consumption might have severe health consequences?

Continuing at this rate, he's risking a potential hospitalization, subjecting himself to this relentless coffee habit day in and day out.

Yet, it's evident that there's one person who remains indifferent to his well-being - the woman who doesn't seem to care.

If she had her way, she would encourage his habits and watch him die of a heart attack!

His presence irritated the very life in her!

Almost enough to make her get a gun and shoot him dead even!

‘Breath Roxy. There's no need to feel so triggered by an egoistic man whose needs are more paramount than that of others!’

Roxy exhaled deeply and returned to her work. Soon the whole office was sparkling clean, looking more organized than her boss's brain she presumed!

Roxy moved the trash to the side and replaced the empty bottled water in the refrigerator with new ones.

"This is absolute bullshit Brianna!"

Roxy's heart plummeted like a heavy stone in her chest, the weight of dread settling in as Mr. Kent stormed into the office, his face etched with unmistakable frustration.

"I believe, sir, that this is an error that can be rectified," Brianna offered, her voice quivering as she fought to maintain her composure, struggling to keep her emotions from tipping the scales. "We just need to gather and present them with irrefutable evidence, and I'm confident we can swiftly resolve this issue."

Roxy, with her empathetic nature, could vividly imagine the immense pressure Brianna must have been grappling with as she attempted to convey the intricate details to her demanding boss.

Naturally, Brianna would find herself stumbling over her words under such daunting circumstances.

In exasperation, Roxy shot a disdainful sideways glance at Kent, pondering if it were even possible for him to display less jerk-like behavior.

Kent's intimidating demeanor had left Brianna trembling in fear, her anxiety very obvious in the way her hands quivered.

"Those bastards are trying to fuck with me! You saw that didn't you? Those hungry bastards!"

Despite the joy of seeing how worked up Kent was, and the need to see it through so she could laugh about it later, Roxy placed the last bottled water in the refrigerator.

She was done with her work and ready to call it a day.

"This is a problem that can be rectified sir! I just need a little bit of time to correct this and…"

Kent's fury erupted as he forcefully hurled a wine glass onto the unforgiving floor, shattering it into countless glistening shards. His hands, once pristine, were now smeared with crimson, the result of an unexpected accident.

Roxy, a witness to this chaotic scene, stood frozen in a state of pure terror. Her wide eyes locked onto the shattered glass, unable to comprehend the sudden chaos that had unfolded before her.

"Sir!" Brianna's voice rang out, breaking the eerie silence that had enveloped the room.

Kent, unfazed by the destruction he had caused, turned his attention to Roxy with a cruel smirk. "Hey trash girl," he sneered, his tone dripping with condescension, "clean this mess up." His callous command hung in the air, adding another layer of tension to the already charged atmosphere.
