C5 Second Chance Mate
Octavia POV
Beep...beep. The constant noise is bothering me, and I've had enough of it. This time, I'm not drowsy, so I sit up. I looked around, and the big man was sitting in a chair beside me, looking at me.
"You really need to stop fainting," he said. Oh no, I fainted again. I rub my head, trying to remember. Oh, goddess! He is my mate! I gasp loudly, looking at him. Does he know I'm his mate? Can he feel the bond? Will he reject me?
"Y...you a...are my mate?" I asked lowly. He smiled happily.
"Yes, I am your mate," he said. I look at him, expecting him to reject me. He looked back at me. Why is he not rejecting me? I questioned myself; I never thought I would have a second chance, mate.
"What?" he asked, looking at me, amused.
"A.. aren't you going to reject me?" I asked. This time, a look of shock passed over his face.
"No, why would I do that?" He asked, looking confused. With each passing moment, my confusion deepened, and I wondered why he didn't want to reject me. It was always the opinion of the teens in my former pack that my mate would never love or accept me. I did not believe them. Even when Dylan did not accept me, I was still hanging on until he got Samantha pregnant. But now this man, my second chance mate, is not rejecting me on the spot. Does he know I have no wolf?
"But I don't have a wolf," I said. In my old pack, I was an omega, but most omegas have wolves but just a weak one. But I have, none so technically I am human omega, if that makes sense.
"I know," he said, and I was surprised. He knows?
"What is your name, mate?" he asked. Mate? Nobody has ever called me that before. I am sure this is just an illusion or a silly dream. I pinched myself to know everything was real. The pain that passed through my skin made me realize this was real. He laughed, probably noticing what I had just did. I blush, looking down.
"Umm, my name is Octavia," I said meekly.
"Octavia," he said. A shiver ran down my spine. Hearing him say my name makes my heart flutter with happiness.
"Well, my name is Silver," he said, introducing himself again as the doctor came in.
"Hello, it's me again," said the doctor. So I did a short wave.
"Well, Miss, you are okay now, and you are discharged. I smiled at him, ashamed of how hard this doctor tried for me.
"Okay, Doctor," I replied. The doctor turned to Silver.
"I just came to tell you that she can leave the hospital, Alpha," he said. Alpha? he is an Alpha, oh moon goddess, don't let him reject me, but which pack is this? Last I remember, I fainted in the woods while some wolves chased me. Was he the wolf chasing me?
"Okay, thank you, Doctor Anges," he said.
"No problem, Alpha; I will take my leave now," he said, leaving the room.
"Okay, mate, let's leave the hospital," he said, looking at me.
"Okay," I responded. I came down from the hospital bed, and we both left. I walked beside him, looking around.
I felt like everyone was staring at me. But because I was accustomed to it and people in my old pack often looked at me and whispered to their friends, I didn't bother to pay attention to them. The children were having a great time, and when they noticed him, they all started shouting his name. His pack members love him, Dylan doesn't receive this type of treatment, and the pack children don't get this excited when they see him. They just greet and continue their duties. This pack is so different; the people are happier and healthier, and the pack looks nice and beautiful. They are also populated.
We got to the pack house and upon first sight of the enormous mansion, I could not help but exclaim in my mind, the house is immense. The pack house exterior is both stunning and immaculate.
"Just how many people live in this pack?" I whispered, but he heard me anyway.
"This is the pack house; it has about 200 rooms with a swimming pool, game room, movie theater, and two dining rooms. There are also smaller houses here and there for families who want to have their privacy, and the pack house is mostly for teens and mateless people. We have 4,899 people in this pack plus you now it is 4,900 people," he said.
Wow, 4,899 people in a pack?! My former pack is not even up to 1,000. This is massive. We entered the mansion, and the inside was even more beautiful than the outside. There are two large stairs leading to different areas. We took the one on the left, and there were also other stairs leading to the third floor.
"This part of the mansion is for Alpha and Luna with their kids only; it has a separate kitchen, dining room, and living room. The other part is for the beta family. And this area is secluded. My office is also here. So let's go to my office and discuss," he said.
The thought that our conversation may go badly causes my heart to beat. But the question remains, "What could he possibly want to say?"
