C10 Chapter 10
Everything was too fast, I think. Nonetheless, I didn't complain nor disagree with what she said before leaving my house last night. It actually felt good having someone claimed me as hers and vice versa.
Finally, I can call her mine now. I know we were both carried away with our emotions last night but, as I've said to her, go with the flow. We'll see where our relationship would lead us to. And we were both single... It wasn't a bad thing to try and see if things will work between us.
If it works, then it's worth the shot. If not, it's still worth the try, right? Some may call it a waste of time but, it's Lexin... Nothing would be put to waste if it's her I'm putting an effort with.
"My sister will arrive tonight," said Lexin on the other line. "Don't say anything if you see her do something unusual, alright?"
"Shut up," I rolled my eyes. "I ain't nosy, love. I won't even bother her unless you ask me to."
Lexin left this morning. I wasn't able to drive them to the airport as she refused to. But I was glad that she let me cook for their breakfast before they left and sad for the reason that I didn't get a kiss from her.
She was still annoyed from last night and kept on insisting that I rejected her when I did not. Gosh... Once I step foot in the city, I swear, we will happen. I was so overwhelmed last night that it overpowered my desire but, the next time we'll see each other, I won't back down.
No more backing down, Aya.
"When are you coming?" she asked.
I stopped mixing the dry ingredients in a bowl. Staring at the phone, I thought of my schedule.
"I'll check my schedule first," I answered instead. "But honestly, I don't know. Although I promise to be there, I just don't have a clear plan when."
"Do you have a place to stay here?"
I hummed. "I have, yup."
"Your complete address?"
"Seriously..." I chuckled. "Just wait, okay? I'll be there, Lexin. Let me just finish my work here and I'll be there, unnoticed."
"Unfair," she complained. "I want to know when you're coming here, Aya. I don't like surprises, love. Clear your schedule and come home to me, okay?"
"You are demanding," I blurted out. "I don't like a demanding girlfriend, may I remind you of that?"
"I'm not demanding anything," she defended and sighed.
"You are," I started mixing the ingredients again.
I was trying to bake and bring them to the shop but, Lexin being a demanding partner ruined my mood.
"Fine, I'm sorry..." I stopped when I heard her. "Let me adjust, okay? I was used to getting everything I wanted and it just kind of new to not have you here, right now even if I told you to."
"Just like a typical rich and spoiled girl, eh?" I was surprised that she knows when to say sorry.
"Shut up," I could hear the irritation in her voice. "I'll call you later, Aya. Something came up."
"Alright, bye..." I reached for my phone and ended the call. When she's gone, silence filled the whole room.
I was used to silence but, when I met her, I kinda hated it. I blew a deep sigh and continued doing my stuff. I honestly don't have any excuse to delay my arrival in the city. I just don't want to go back to where my parents' lived.
Although I lived miles away from them. Still, they would know. Perks of having connections. I don't have plans to step my foot on their territory though.
Sure, they abandoned me years ago. Because of one mistake, I didn't do it. I have proven my innocence but still, they closed their hearts to listen to my explanation. I got tired of chasing them, to accept me again.
I got tired of begging for their forgiveness.
I came back from my reverie when I heard my doorbell. I frowned.
"I'm not expecting anyone," I muttered. Yet I still attended to whoever's knocking.
Scanning through the peephole, I opened the door when I saw a woman looking impatient.
"Hey," she greeted. "I'm sure you know Lexin, right?"
I squint my eyes. That was when I noticed their resemblance. I thought she would arrive tonight?
"You're...?" I railed off.
"Her sister," she smiled. "Did she somehow left a key or something? That bitch..." She bit her lip like she was stopping herself.
"Yeah, she did. But she told me that you would be arriving later tonight."
"Oh, I'm sure she didn't."
My lips parted. Is she telling me that I'm lying?! How dare she? I was about to close the door when she blocked her foot, refraining from me. Glaring at her, I forced the hatch which made her flinch.
"I was joking! Just give me the damn key, it's too hot here!"
"Wow..." Uhn-buh-lee-vuh-bl. "It's fucking morning."
"Who cares!" Rolling her eyes, she held out her palm. "Give me the key.
"Mandy!"
We both turned our heads behind her when we heard someone. A woman wearing her puffy sleeves dress went out of the red car which I just noticed that was parked across my house, and the car was kind of familiar...
But the thing that caught my attention is how this woman in front of me cussed upon seeing her, and the owner of the pair of eyes that were sending her glares.
My upper lip rose up. "So, I guess you're Mandy."
"Shut up," she hissed under her breath. "Just give me the key or we'll both be damned here, lady. Choose..."
Eventually, I gave her the key and quickly closed the door when I saw the woman approached her. Lexin's sister looked so scared and I couldn't help but laughed as I made my way to the kitchen.
"They were too opposite..." Lexin on the other hand was calm...
I ended up not baking and chose to go to the shop empty-handed where things were quite strange. When I arrived, everyone was too quiet.
Lin was nowhere to be found. I didn't mind asking as I think I know the reason. For the whole day, I busied myself having things done. This shop would stand still even without me. The idea of closing it soon, or selling it crossed my mind but, nah.
This became part of me since I left home. I planned to focus on my main but, something inside me was telling me to keep the coffee shop.
Later that night, I came home late. I just showered when I heard my laptop rang, revealing her name and requesting a video call.
I swallowed hard. Why do I feel like something would happen tonight?
Tying my bathrobe tight, I answered the call. I positioned the laptop on my vanity table and sat on the chair, drying my hair with a towel.
A white-gray false ceiling was the first thing I saw.
"Tita, good night!" I heard Alex's voice followed by the sound of kisses.
The camera shook for a moment, then I saw Lexin wearing a thin strap silk nightgown. She was bare-faced and was looking fresh!
"You showered," it wasn't a question. "What are you wearing underneath that white robe?"
"Why?" I tried to make a face. "I haven't blown dry my hair. Can you call later?"
Her brows shot up. "I want to know what's underneath your robe. Does that still need to be asked? You are my girlfriend, Amaia."
"Pervert," I accused.
"Coming from you, hmm? Do I need to show my boobies you've been dying to see since day one for you to answer my question?"
"Hey! Your mouth!" Oh gosh... But damn, can I say yes? I honestly wanted to see it. "Is video call sex still a thing?"
Silence...
I thought she would end the call but instead, she laughed! I felt like my face would explode because of too much blood on my cheeks! I'm blushing in embarrassment! Fuuck! I still haven't learned my lesson, eh?!
I still love to embarrass myself in front of her!
"You want to do it through a screen, huh?" She coughed fakely. "We could do that, girlfriend. However, I bet you're too shy now to agree with me."
Pursing my lips, I looked at her with confidence.
"I'll fly there first thing in the morning tomorrow, Lexin." I closed my eyes shortly. "This will not do... I wanted to hold you, for real this time. No backing down so, would you clear your schedule tomorrow?"
"I'm always free for you, love..."
I closed my mouth, unable to reply. Always... I know how hectic her schedule is given by her name but, she's willing to make time for me. That made my heart flutter.
Unknowingly, a genuine smile made its way to my lips.
"I might fall for you if you keep doing that, love."
