C6 The Proposal

He took her to a roof-top steak and seafood restaurant where he requested private dining with a cozy atmosphere, soft lightings, and soft music. She ate to her satisfaction and there was so much left because Keith didn’t eat much as he’s a light eater. She unashamedly told him to request for the remaining to be packed for them to take away. Keith gave the order to the attendants and told them to hand the take-away over to him when they are leaving.

The sofas were comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxing so Keith used this opportunity to get to know Kelsey more and he also talked more about himself without holding back information in any way.

After chatting for a long time, Keith said…..

“Kelsey, I know you can’t get to know me fully within a day not even in a year which is the same thing with me but I’m convinced within me on what I want for both of us. The first day I saw you at the restaurant, I felt an unexplainable connection between us and I really liked you when I met you. Kelsey, I’ve told you everything about me already in this short time we’ve spent with each other today”

Kelsey listened with rapt attention and all seriousness

He continues “I’m coming to you as just an ordinary guy who loves you so much already”.

(He swallowed hard)Kelsey, I’m sorry if I’m pushing you too hard, and not waiting till I spend months with you before saying this. Please forgive me in advance.

I ….(he stuttered), “I want you to be my wife”. He dropped the bombshell and looked deeply into her eyes to see any reaction. He paused to see if she was going to say something but continued when he felt like she couldn’t find the words to say

“I want to spend the rest of my life with you and we grow old together…… I don’t have a skeleton in my closet so there’s nothing for you to worry about in the future and I promise to love you completely” (he was searching his head if he had said anything wrong and was even out of more words to say as he’s naturally not a man that talks much)

Kelsey finally broke the silence. “Go ahead; I’m still waiting for you to pop the question”

He let out a deep breath excitedly and moved to her side hoping for the best. He looked straight into her beautiful eyes. “Kelsey, will you marry me?”

She didn’t waste time and grinned from ear to ear then replied with the magic response…” YES, I’ll marry you”

It was as if there were fireworks igniting everywhere, Keith felt so much joy that he had never felt before. He pulled her over and gave her a tight hug, planted a kiss on her forehead, picked her up, and spun around with her.

He put her down and while still hugging her, he excitedly said “thank you sweetie….thank……thank you for accepting to be mine….I promise to love you for the rest of my life”. He was so exhilarated. “I feel like taking you to get our marriage license right away” Both of them burst into a loud hearty cheer and hugged each other tighter.

“I’m sorry that I didn’t propose to you the conventional way….I mean… I should have taken you on several dates before now but don’t worry we’ll have the best of dates together all through our lives.

I should also have brought an expensive diamond ring today to kneel and ask you to marry me….I’m sorry babes, I’m just not that type of guy but I assure you that I’ll love you and our kids with my life. I’ll provide you everything you want God helping me. Even if you want to drink water from a diamond-studded cup, consider it done.

My-Kelsey, I look forward to going on this part of life’s journey with you and I promise to love you truthfully and wholeheartedly. I love you, my queen”. He was so overjoyed and he planted a loving kiss on her rosy cheek.

At this point, Kelsey had tears in her eyes which dropped sweetly down her cheeks. Keith of course wiped her cheeks with the back of his hands and they just hugged tighter. It was such a beautiful emotional time for them.

She rubbed his back lovingly and said “I’m so happy this is happening to us. I pray our love stays true and real forever”.

Keith then narrated…“I fell in love with you the moment I set my eyes on you that day and wondered if you were a human or a beauty goddess. I knew immediately that we were made for each other….. I’m sorry that I used the job offer scheme to get to see you again. Though I was determined to pursue you even if you turned down the job, which was why I got your phone number”

“Bad boy” she whispered to him and she continued “Looking at you as you walked in on that day triggered a repressed memory in me but I couldn’t place it so it just fizzled out. I felt that I knew you from my childhood but I couldn’t recollect because of the memory loss I suffered after the accident I told you about”.

Muah! He planted a kiss on her face, “We’ll overcome the past and build a bright future together my Yummylicious Babe”

He continued…“As we discussed earlier today, I’ll contact the psychologist tomorrow to see how he can help us to get your childhood memory back”

He said while using his palm to trace her shape from her spine downwards and he screamed…D*mn! You’re such a bootylicious babe. He then smacked her backside seductively and of course, Kelsey grabbed him too and she tried to wriggle out of his embrace afterward. Eventually, both of them began a ‘mouth-war’.

Keith bent his head as he’s much taller than her. He tasted her lips delicately and caressed them with his tongue. Thereafter, they slowly progressed by exploring each other’s mouth and had their passionate first-time kiss together. They went on and on saying sweet nothings to each other and had to stop when they were about reaching cloud nine.

“My delish Cutie” he complimented her

“Don’t be shameless” Kelsey rebuked coquettishly

“When do you want us to get our marriage license or do you want us to plan for a big ceremony?” He asked

She dragged him back to the sofa and sat on his lap. “Baby, I’m happy that I’ll be yours” She hugged him holding his head close to her chest and planting a kiss on his cheek. I’ve never been a fan of big weddings as I’m not an event freak. I’d rather we get our marriage license and have our closest families and friends join us for a little celebration.

“Consider it done boss”, he joked

Keith adjusted the way he sat then pushed her to get up as he asked her to turn around for him which she did provocatively.

He puffed “there’s something that must kill a man, I think you are the one that’ll kill me” He joked hilariously then pulled her back to sit on his lap.
